FEEDBACK FROM VIDEO

Once I finished my video I posted it on social media and currently as it stands it’s at 77 views on youtube and has 6 likes which for me is an amazing start to have drafted all that in from my Instagram and snapchat here’s some screenshots of 2 of the bits of feedback I’ve gotten. I’m very happy with the fact that people are appreciating my work as to me it’s something I wanted to do for personal reasons but to be able to now be comfortable enough to showcase my work to others and get positive feedback from that is amazing aswell as this one of my mates from secondary school sent me this

Which is incredible for me as it means what I wanted this project to do for me eventually as worked without me even having to go out of my way to people in order to put myself out there and the offer of shooting a music video for someone else now is amazing. Aswell as this I now have my new camera meaning that I have everything I would need to do a shoot myself soo I can doo it all without the use of college equipment meaning that hopefully in a few weeks time I can sort out a plan with my mate and get some ideas drafted and produce something over the summer that we are both happy with. Which is great news to get work out of my project as it’s all I could have asked for in the end let alone the good feedback.

NO FACE NO FEELINGS PRE OVERLAY EDIT

This is my first edit of the video and I decided I wasn’t fully happy with the overall look for it so I decided to add a vintage overlay and play around with it a bit more in software that I have and the official link for the video is the outcome which I’m incredibly happy with overal compared to this copy of the video below

When it comes to the editing process of my video here it’s a few screenshots of me cutting down certain clips for my footage and also rotoscoping scenes in order to use the shots that I have for transitions

When it came to shooting the video the grills that I used kept falling out of my mouth halfway through the song meaning that I had to cut some of the recordings into multiple sections to avoid them falling out on the video or when it post they fall out use a transition of have an effect over the top so it’s like it never happened I am very happy with how my work around played out as I originally though when shooting I was going to have to take them out and not be able to use them for my whole project

This is the reference of where i got the idea to use a grill for my video shoot as well as some form of liquid (in the end choosing blood due to theme of the video) and im very happy with what i came up with in the end that stemmed from this small gif from asap mobs  yamborghini high music video

When it comes to my track after dropping it a week ago now I was very happy with the progress. I uploaded it to soundcloud and it’s already had 110 plays and aswell as this I posted it on my social media asking people for feedback here are some screenshots of some of the feedback that I was given

I was very happy with the feedback I received from people on social media aswell as in person . When I gave the track to my classmate in order for him to mix and master it he was very happy with the quality of the song and the fact that the beat worked incredibly well with my voice and the flow was on point for what it was and aswell as this he noticed that I would most likely have a decent voice in order to do some singing in the future and to hopefully work on some more tracks that will instead be produced by him and I said that I would be more then happy to make music together with him as personally I would love to feel more confident when it comes to my voice as I haven’t sung properly since year 8 when I used to be in a after school class for it and since then as my voice has broken I have questioned my abililitys a lot when it comes to what I’m capeable of even if people tell me I’m good I still don’t trust it. I also was told by my mate Louis that the snare hit very hard I would say that for me I did notice this on the track when it was fully mixed and masterd however I kind of like that it stood out due to the fact that it keeps you locked into the track and makes sure that your not drifting off from what’s being said.

This was my intial shot list for my music video and what I wanted to shoot for it , I ended up following it however I am now going to implement the shots into another scene in which I filmed soo even tho I did shoot all of these it’s going to look a lot different in the 3 tv sceeena and the projector that I have chosen to do for my video I’m hoping it will work well with how I want it too

WHY I WANT TO MAKE THIS VIDEO? part 2

as well as this for me theres a theme behind the title of the track which is called NO FACE NO FEELINGS this personal for me is about feelings that i have and that i go through and all of the things that i do in order to stray away from them and not face them face first as i constantly try to run away from them and having multiple different coping mechanisms. as the song explains due to how long this has all been going on im fed up of it all and how its effecting me and what im doing in order to cope. and the reason of this track is to share all of this whilst at the same time showcasing visually a film that doesn't show my face for how it is naturally as theres shots with me with demonic eyes or there layered behind the tv for the video or its just simply my shadow casted over some footage. so theres a theme and meaning to this whole song and in a way its allowed me to get a-lot of my chest and turn something thats a burden to me in my day to day life a bit more bare able and allows me to get better and hopefully for others that actually listen to the lyrics allows them to be able to feel comfortable with how they are feeling especially when it comes to males.

i feel like mental health is a very big problem for my target audience and which is my generation as a whole. as a male i feel like its something that isnt talked about enough due to the fact that society has a stigma surrounding it thats mainly being enforced by the older generations. a majority of the older generation dont fully understand what we are expressing and that things that younger males go through and even tho some dont understand which is always the case with somethings in life its the fact that they are ignorant with the approach towards male mental health issues and will state things such as “manning up” or just to “smile” or they will simply just choose not to believe the feelings you are expressing as to them in society men are not meant to have all of these feelings etc and are meant to be the “bread winners” and the man of the family https://www.theguardian.com/money/2016/aug/19/men-breadwinners-health-effects-wellbeing

as this article shows most men who act as this type of male in reality are incredibly likely to face these mental health effects and because of all these traditional gender roles and there peers surrounding them they are not able to say anything about it without seeming week and not a “real man”. 

for me i just wanted to get stuff off my own chest that im hoping will help others male and female so i hope for my project that i am able to do this for people that listen to the lyrics properly as for my generation and target audience of my project this is forever becoming a growing problem and its only going to get worse.

reflection

i have just finished the edit for my video along with everything that i need to add to my website for my final presentation and also the website itself. i used wordpress again this year in order to present my website mainly due to the fact that for me it allows me to important everything that i have done over from my FMP tumblr page and with the use of tags allocate a webpage each on my wordpress website for each section of my fmp and it saves me a lot of time for my whole process and also works incredibly well as all i need to do when wanting to add to it from my tumblr is simply use my tags in the post and then update the posts via the wordpress website and everything will be there for me ready to present

When I first got into the studio for day 1 of shooting there was no green screen in the greenscreen studio which for us cause a few problems but in the end I managed to work around it
