“You’re getting the batter everywhere!” Laughter spills from your throat as you watch Jackson struggle to ladle the pancake batter into the frying pan. He ends up spilling it on not only on the stove, but himself too. “We’re not going to have any left!”

Jackson presses a batter-covered finger to his lips, “Shhhh... I’m a professional, baby! Don’t worry about a thing!”

You hold back another giggle and return to making the eggs. However, your focus is once again disrupted when Jackson suddenly leans forward to press a sloppy kiss against your cheek—smearing sticky batter all across your skin.

“Baby-!” Your whine steals a coo from your boyfriend, who sends an innocent smile your way before returning to the stove to flip what is supposed to be a pancake.

And even through your grumbling, you can’t help the sweet smile that pulls across your lips as you watch Jackson attempt to salvage your burnt breakfast.

You always do his laundry, put his stuff away, and make/order a meal. It was routine and ensured he’d have some relaxation time when he first came home. Per usual, you relaxed with him for awhile with no problem before going to get his bags and wash his clothes. Once you opened the bag and started separating the clothing into piles that’s when he shouted. “Stop going through my stuff! You’re not my mother, (y/n)! I’m a grown man I can do things on my own!”

So, now you sit on a park bench in the park close to your apartment. The park you first met at. Letting Jackson cool down. You looked around at the couples walking hand in hand casually and happily and you thought back to all the secret nights you and Jackson would meet up to not get caught by anyone.

“Remember when you climbed half way up that tree?” You looked up to see Jackson, wearing a mask to avoid being noticed. “It took me an hour to reassure you that you wouldn’t fall coming back down.” He chuckled and it made you smile. Not only the memory, but his cute laugh you loved so much.

“I couldn’t see anything...” you smile up at him. He sat beside you and looked around. “I remember the first time we went here during the day...” you again, smiled at the memories.

“I’m sorry, (y/n).” He stated seriously while looking you in the eyes. “I just... I don’t want you to feel like you have to mother me.” He spoke, “You do a lot and I want to make sure you get rest too.” He nodded and you couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Jackson Wang. You have yet to put a ring on this finger, if I’m doing anything for you it’s definitely because I want to do it.” You teased with a smile. “Trust me, if I really didn’t want to do the things I do. I wouldn’t be doing them.” You nodded reassuringly. Despite the mask you knew Jackson was smiling gratefully under his mask.
