So, because it's the new year, and mainly because I want to (maybe as a reminder for myself, idk), I'm going to share some of the WIPs I want to either finish or get ahead in.
Here we go then.
***
Coriolanus
Actor!Loki - This is actually the first fic I've written for the MCU, sorta. It's post-Endgame. Basically, Loki lives with the Avengers. It focuses heavily on his PTSD and depression and anxiety (I'm only in Chapter 3 and it's just a lot of Loki thinking about stuff). Eventually, out of boredom, he will play the title role in a production of Coriolanus on Broadway. Yes, this is inspired by the National Theatre streaming the play last year. It will be Frostiron eventually, but it's really slow-burn, I'd say.
Windows 95
(personal deadline: end of January)
This started as a prompt for @rabentochter and just really quickly escalated. It was supposed to be short and soft, with only a little bit of angst, now it's basically only angst with a bit of soft fluff and silliness. I'm in Chapter 5, which is interesting because it was supposed to be a one-shot. Due to me generally being quite vague about this fic in particular I will not share what exactly it's about. Also features the best metaphor I've ever come up with, I love it.
New York: Blue Hearts
Detroit: Become Human AU
An idea I had since I first played the game. Android!Loki. The title is both a reference to the game, and a reference to Tony and Loki (arc reactor/thirium). It is set after the Android rebellion of the game, Tony receives a gift from Kamski himself: Loki. Loki will become a deviant eventually.
Winter Butterfly
Collab with @worstloki
Jotun!Loki & Ace!Loki - It was originally a prompt for @lightneverfades' Frostiron Holiday thing that I wanted to do but didn't get around to write. After being hit in a fight, Odin's spell that's hiding Loki's true form doesn't work anymore, cue anxiety, self-image issues and softness when Tony gets through to Loki.
Those are the ones I want to finish, or well, at least get further ahead in the story.
As a special treat, some of the HCs/ideas I want to start:
How To Train Your Dragon AU with Ace!Loki as the Dragon genius. Also, very possibly Frostiron. Collab with @worstloki
Lokitty Detective story with @worstloki, in which Loki decides to live as a cat after EG and opens a magical detective office across from the Sanctum to mess with Strange. Peter is his employee and Tony will join in on the fun too. Also, talking Lokitty a la Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Sports AU with Ice Hockey Player!Loki and his smitten fan Tony. One of the topics would be homophobia in sports. Can't tell much more about it.
I think that's it, yeah.
EDIT: I'd also like to try writing some Frostironstrange. No ideas in particular yet though.

tip for adhd writers:
everyone will tell you to outline, to anaylze every personality trait of your characters and plan every plot point, but the truth? don’t. not only does it waste precious spurts of motivation, but it makes it less enjoyable. and what happens when adhders don’t enjoy something? we lack the motivation and focus needed for it.
i used to write, 24/7, and i developed my characters with vague ideas until they became fleshed out in the story without any extra manipulation and extensive notes. looking back on my old writing, these were the best characters I have ever written.
and then i stopped, and i spent months mapping out my characters to an exact t because I thought it would be better, but when i went to write, it was really hard. it seemed more like a chore. and because i had already planned their attitudes and perceptions, it was almost impossible for me to change anything without worrying about my endless sheets of character analysis.
just write. seriously. you can learn about your characters as the story goes. and then you can edit after. then you can add details and take things out while still having the fun story you enjoyed from the start.

Resources For Writing Deaf, Mute, or Blind Characters
Despite the fact that I am not deaf, mute, or blind myself, one of the most common questions I receive is how to portray characters with these disabilities in fiction.
As such, I’ve compiled the resources I’ve accumulated (from real life deaf, mute, or blind people) into a handy masterlist.

And finally, this short, handy masterpost of resources for writing blind characters.
Characters Who Are Blind in One Eye

Title: Off Balance (Chapter 13) Fandom: Hollow Knight Characters: The Pale King/The White Lady, The Pure Vessel, Herrah, Hornet, Monomon, Quirrel, Lurien, Ogrim Word Count: 12.086 AO3-Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/21805333/chapters/67823819 Previous chapter: https://mrslittletall.tumblr.com/post/632957812538998784/title-off-balance-chapter-12-fandom-hollow
Summary: It is time to reveal Hollow’s identity at the party.
(Author’s note: I wanted to have this chapter ready earlier, but it went out of hand and now I have a massive word count, I think I even beat the Deepnest chapter!
In the meantime, I got two fanarts for this fic, curiously from the same scene, which you can find here and here. The artists are Vainilla from Instagram and @plantaequeen from tumblr. Please check out their work.
That being said, I am so GLAD that you latched onto my headcanon names for PK and WL. I was really really nervous about using them and seeing you using them in the comments makes my day.)

i think this mainly comes from my own general anxiety, but how do you cope with irrational fears that you aren't in a fandom at its peak? i always get into fandoms jusstttt after a show has ended and i end up feeling like i'm late to the party. it doesn't help that i'm a slow writer, which frustrates me sometimes especially when it feels like there's a time limit for when ppl might be interested in reading my fics. thanks!
If a show like Star Trek: The Original Series, which went off the air in 1969, still has an active fandom then I figure there’ll always be people around to see my work.
True, there won’t be as many people as there were when the fandom was at its peak, but I don’t personally create stuff because I want it to be seen by the maximum number of people. I create stuff because it’s something I’m interested in and creating it makes me happy.
More people reading your fic or seeing your art or watching your videos doesn’t make them better. Their value is inherent. Their worth never changes. The things you create are important because you made them. ❤
What about the rest of you? How do you deal with the fear that your work will never be seen?

Hello Neil. Someone on tumblr asked questing about Good Omens wallslam scene in ex-satanists church, why was it added. Can you explain it to us? Not Crowley's motivation to do it, but yours to add this scene. Thanks, and have a great rest of the year
Well, the scene in the book is:
“There are people out there shooting one another!”
“Well, that’s just it, isn’t it? They’re doing it themselves. It’s what they really want to do. I just assisted them. Think of it as a microcosm of the universe. Free will for everyone. Ineffable, right?”
Aziraphale glared.
“Oh, all right,” said Crowley wretchedly. “No one’s actually going to get killed. They’re all going to have miraculous escapes. It wouldn’t be any fun otherwise.”
Aziraphale relaxed. “You know, Crowley,” he said, beaming, “I’ve always said that, deep down inside, you’ re really quite a—”
“All right, all right,” Crowley snapped. “Tell the whole blessed world, why don’t you?”
MARY HODGES WAS Just putting down the phone when Crowley opened her office door.
“It must be terrorists,” she snapped. “Or poachers.” She peered at the pair of them. “You are the police, aren’t you?” she said. Crowley saw her eyes begin to widen.
and I needed to a) make that more dramatic than two people just walking and talking, which they’ve been doing for a while, and b) have Mary Hodges come upon them rather than just have them open a door to her office, in order not to stop and start the scene. So in the script that became,
Which is basically the scene from the book, compressed, in one place, with stuff for people to do.

Mass Effect Fic Recs
This is my FicRec List for Fandom Fic Rec Days
Before I stared writing fanfiction, I read a crapload of it. I generally ship a gay m!Shep, so the list reflects that. And I’m a sucker for rare pairs, which you will notice in the list as well. What follows are some of my faves in no particular order (other than the first one which is my fave fanfiction of all time!)
Of Elevators and Eclairs by @arcticlucie - Kaidan Alenko/Male Shepard - yummy smut and snarky characters, how can you go wrong?
Wish You Were Here by @nightmarestudio606 - Kaidan Alenko/Male Shepard - very unique take on how this relationship develops when Kaidan invites Shepard home with him on shore leave.
Follow the Tide by Pixelatrix - Male Shepard/Steven Hackett - this Shepard is so fun, and I just love him so!!
Madness Because the Reasons Don’t Make Sense (series) by @threewhiskeylunch - Garrus Vakarian/Zaeed Massani - trust me, you do not want to miss this series. This pairing just WORKS! They’re so great together.
Barefoot in Bluejeans by @threewhiskeylunch - Garrus Vakarian/Zaeed Massani - This is possibly cheating since it’s part of the above named series, but I like it so much I thought it deserved it’s own link. It’s my favorite of the series!
Private Practice (Modern AU) by @nightmarestudio606 - Kaidan Alenko/Male Shepard - AU where Kaidan and Shep work at the same doctor’s office. Very fun story!
Some Two Years Ago by @ageofthegriffon - Kaidan Alenko/Male Shepard - a new twist on dealing with the hurts and disappointments of Horizon.
Everybody Knows by Azzy_Darling - James Vega/Male Shepard - so heart wrenching (but with a happy ending)
Kaleidoscope (Modern AU) by @missannaraven - Kaidan Alenko/Male Shepard - high school AU where Shepard deals with his feelings about realizing he’s gay.Turbulent relationship with Kaidan, but a very sweet ending.
Green Fruit by Recidiva - Male Shepard/Karin Chakwas - this is a WIP, slow to update, but sooo worth it! Her Shepard is one of the best I’ve ever read, and has such a cool personality!! Highly recommend giving it a shot!
Downtown Eastside (Modern AU) by @renlyslittlerose - Kaidan Alenko/Male Shepard - also a WIP, great take on modern rich kid Kaidan meeting and falling in love with gang banger Shepard. I just adore these two!
Under Investigation (Modern AU) by @missannaraven - Kaidan Alenko/Male Shepard - WIP - Modern AU where Kaidan and Shepard are police detectives, can’t wait to see where it goes.
The Right Decision by @arkesstuff - Kaidan Alenko/Male Shepard - what if Shepard said “no” to Kaidan’s proposal for something more than friendship, then realized he’d made a huge mistake - so sweet and heart wrenching!
If you read any of these - which I highly recommend you do! - maybe mention in the comments that you heard about it from Fandom Fic Rec Days (you don’t have to mention me!) This list doesn’t even really scratch the surface of the amazing Mass Effect fics out there, but it should keep you busy reading for awhile! :)
Enjoy!

Princess in the Making❥Prince Sidon
➳Princess in the Making❥Prince Sidon
➳Words: 707
➳Genre: Oneshot, fluff
➳First BOTW oneshot! Of course I had to do it for the best boy! Might have a Revali one and another Sidon one in the works…
❥Recommended BGM: Sidon’s Theme
“Rules? Nope, not listening. I’m not following them!”
Your hands quickly clapped over your pointed ears, sharply humming a tune a passerby rito bard by the name of Kass taught you a week ago. Sidon’s shoulders sagged as he reread the writing drawled upon the slab. The rules were quite simple really, usually focused upon poise and elegance, something he had grown up with. You on the other hand were a boisterous hylian, nomadic in nature, never knowing the true ways of royalty and structure. The prince fell in love with you for that, but preparing you to meet the kingdom proved rather difficult.
Sidon’s father approved of you of course, you amused him quite a bit with your rambunctious retellings of when you defeated a hoard of moblins or took down a guardian with just a shield. He was proud of his son finding himself a lover, no matter the race, and a brave one that can protect his son and kingdom at that! Though the king’s right hand man, Muzu, had never bothered to befriend you. He had taken it so far in fact, that he didn’t even look at you when you pass by. That was expected from the elder though, as he had grown prejudice against the hylians for quite some time now.
Sidon let out a sigh when you finally unclasped your hands away from your ears, perking his head to the side just slightly, “But.. The others might not like you if you didn’t abide by the rules! What if they disapprove of you?”
You grinned up at your zora, smiling affectionately at his worried face. He gave you a confused look but his concern never phased. Steadying yourself on your toes, all you could do was pat his chest reassuringly, “Sidon, stop fretting. I’ll try my best. When you go out swimming, I go to the ponds and befriend the zoras. I think I made a good impression, so let’s not worry about them rejecting me. What we should be worrying about is if the headpiece actually fits on my head.”
The smile you know all too well arrived on Sidon’s face, swiftly bending down on one knee just to clasp your hand in his own, “You always know what to do, my love! What could I ever do without you?”
“Probably a lot of things.” You offhandedly answered the rhetorical question, though Sidon seemed too beside himself to comment back. He reached beside him to the dresser, picking up a familiar headdress you’ve seen carved on the late princess’ statue.
“Well, I sincerely hope the princess’ headdress fits you.” He murmured hopefully, dropping it right atop your head and grinning, “There, perfect!”
The sapphire dangling on either side of the steel weighed the metal down, causing it to promptly slip off the left side of your head and onto the ground. It’s size was certainly a cause of it’s departure as well, as it was made for a zora princess and not a hylian such as yourself. Sidon’s grin became lopsided quite sheepishly, picking it up and placing it back on your head much more delicately than the first time. You reached up and touched it, shaking your head back and forth lightly to check if it could fall. When it didn’t, you looked up to smile at your prince only to find his own smile turn sad, “Out of all her jewelry, that was Mipha’s favorite.”
“I won’t loose it like I did with that zora shield you got me!” You yelped, trying to make him smile once more, “I– Uh…”
“It’s fine my dear. I do admit, the way you lost that shield was rather funny.” A vibrant chuckle escaped him, despite your pouty frown.
You crossed your arms, turning your face away from him, “No it wasn’t! What if your favorite shield fell off a cliff because a hinox thought it was trash? And that hinox barely had any loot on him, it was a total was–”
He placed a kiss on your cheek, quickly shutting you up. You smiled bashfully at him as he got back up from his kneeling position, reaching his hand down to link with your own, “Let’s go introduce the new princess, shall we?”

Loaf
Stepping into the small cottage, the young hero took in a deep breath, finding a pleasant aroma filling the space. He was careful to measure his steps, treading lightly to avoid spooking the young woman inside. The small wooden building was warm, likely from heat escaping the oven in the kitchen, making his mind wander to the plentiful possibilities of what he could find when he made his way into the kitchen, further into the home.
She must not have heard him arrive, because Link was able to stand in the doorframe between the kitchen and the main living space entirely unnoticed as the girl continued to bustle back and forth around the countertops and cabinets and stove, humming a familiar tune all the while. She had already illuminated the lamps, in spite of the sun not being down entirely yet. However the woods around the home definitely obscured some of the sun's fading light.
It was so pleasant to come inside after a long hard day tending to the ranch after attending his meeting with the princess up in Hyrule on a crisp autumn day. As he leaned his shoulder in the doorway, watching her with a smile, he realized moments like these made him more content with life than he ever had thought he could feel.
Suddenly, the red headed woman's melody paused as she let out a soft, 'Oh!' to herself. Initially, the blonde assumed she had realized his presence behind her, but was amused to find she simply slid on some hand-stitched oven mitts and opened the iron door to the oven. She reached in and he watched as she pulled out three golden brown loaves of bread, increasing the aroma in the cottage tenfold. Carefully, she placed them on ornate trivets to cool by the slightly cracked window. Even from behind, he could tell she had that sort of satisfied smile on her face that she made when she felt she'd done a good job. Yet another endearing aspect of this sweet girl.
He couldn't wait any longer. In less than three steps, he was behind her, wrapping his arms around Malon's waist, burying his face in her hair, pushing into the crook of her neck. The poor girl nearly jumped out of her skin, her face nearly as red as her hair. "Gosh!" She reached up to lightly smack the young man, "Don't scare me like that, fairy boy!" Link pouted, and the girl immediately knew why, gently untangling herself from his embrace as she scolded lightly, "You only get to be 'Hero' when you're being nice, fairy boy."
He chuckled, finding her embarrassment incredibly cute. He nodded along in understand of her reprimand. At this, almost immediately, her eyes softened, her hand slipping into his larger one. His smile twitched higher on his cheeks at the feeling of the ring on her finger. He spun it slowly around her finger before meeting her gaze again. Her smile grew wider, "Welcome home, Link." She slightly motioned to the sweet-smelling bread. "Are you hungry? It'll be just a few minutes for me to heat up the stew, and by then the bread should be cool."
He nodded again, finding himself incredibly thankful to have such a sweet woman as his wife. Before Malon could keep moving to get the stew heated, in one swift motion, he pulled her close and pressed a warm kiss on her temple, causing her to look back up, appearing to nearly have stars in her eyes. She let out a soft laugh, "What was that for?"
He simply smiled, and she understood, and that's all the both of them needed.
