Hi! I've been following your blog for quite some time and I really appreciate all the advice you give out to architecture students; seriously thanks a lot. I have a question regarding architectural programming. what are some good ways to graphically represent the programming of space? We are doing a project at school in which we have to come up with an architectural program and communicate it in three forms, a narrative, diagrams and models. It is rather abstract and I'm a little lost. Thanks!!
Thanks! My advice, keep it as simple as possible! Think of the spaces of the program as 3d volumes that include proper proportions. You can organize them within the volume of the structure or purely based on space relationships like a 3d bubble diagram. I am not good with words, here are some examples:
