1- Iâve been mainly focusing on my dissertation which is FINALLY FINISHED! Iâve submitted the final version for review and once I get that back Iâll have to fix some things and then upload the final version the first week of june!
2- Iâve also had a ton of projects to work on for all three classes I have this semester and I still have 2 big ones to finish and theyâre due in 3 weeksâŚ
3- Iâve been going to the dentist almost every week since the beginning of April and it sucks but at least the dentist guy is cute so
4- I saw endgame two days in a row when it came out and it destroyed me and iâm still not over it so yeah
5- also been watching game of thrones and season 8 is a freaking joke i canât believe what theyâre doing to the charactersâ arcs.
6- I still donât have a clue what Iâm gonna do with my life once uni is over lol also wish my family would stop asking me nonstop
7- Iâve reached that level of stress where Iâm just kinda calm and itâs scary.

I hope youâre not sick of seeing pictures of my favourite cafĂŠ â I have been working here a lot recently. It might seem strange but I love being right in the centre of this city and feeling its hum. It helps me think.Â

If youâre thinking about studying medicine, read this.
Remember that itâs hard for everyone and no one woke up one day knowing it all.
Donât compare yourself to others : you donât know whatâs behind that girl who spends hours at the library, or that guy that claims he knows everything by heart. Do your thing and have faith.
Itâs not because youâve âstudiedâ for 6 hours straight that youâve actually been productive. Quality over quantity, always (I still tend to forget about this sometimes)
Donât ditch physics and chemistry. Also, donât ditch any important textbook chapter to save you time! Youâll thank me later. Â
Please take care of your mental health. Take your medication if you need some, and look for help if youâre feeling stuck.
Try to stay healthy and to keep moving, it actually helps a lot.
DRINK. YOUR. WATER.
Find YOUR study method. Itâs not because everyone else is studying something in a certain way that itâll work for you.
Donât lose too much time on useless details. Focus on key concepts instead.
Nothing is ever like it seems and nothing is ever like you imagined.Â
Stress is only bad if you see it that way. You canât avoid stress but you can see it in a positive way instead. Whenever youâre feeling anxious just close your eyes and take a deep breath and think about something that makes you happy. This could be anything : your cat, your family, a warm cup of tea⌠just imagine something that will put a smile on your face. Youâll feel relieved.
Have faith that the Universe has a plan for you. Accept fear and embrace it with love. Youâre allowed to expect miracles. Â
Sleep is SO IMPORTANT : make sure you sleep at least 7 hours every night! Sleep is actually the best way to memorize what youâve learned in a day.
Delete social media from your phone if itâs bothering/distracting you. Also, remember that ž of what you see on Instagram is fake.
Take real breaks. One hour break wonât make you lose time. Itâll make you more productive, especially if youâve been studying for hours. Your brain will process what youâve learned whilst youâre doing other things.
Learn how to be disciplined. Build a routine. Try to stick to it. But remember to change one thing at a time so you wonât feel overwhelmed.
Please go outside when itâs sunny and get your dose of happiness and vitamin D
Good people exist so please donât be afraid to ask for help.
Be grateful. Always.
You will never know what people think of you, and most of the time youâre the only one whoâs been judging yourself.
Donât drink too much coffee.
Meditate, even for 5 minutes each day.
Donât forget to have fun along the way !
While re-reading this I feel like these tips can be applied to everyone and not only med students! Donât hesitate to write your own advice in the comments :)Â
Hope you liked it!Â

Productive sunday morning! Finally reading The Secret History by Donna Tartt, loving it so far. Also reviewed some basic French and Iâm currently doing some research for a topic about the collusion between the State and organized crime and how it fuels the smuggling and trafficking of migrants in Mexico.

When your head hits the pillow tonight, remind yourself that youâve done a good job. You are headed down your path at your own pace, and with every obstacle you are trying your utmost best. Be patient with yourself, and remember that big things are achieved not all at once, but one day at a time.

man it makes me sad to see 13 year old girls on instagram pretending like they are 20 with a huge following that includes a big amount of other girls that age who look up to them and think that itâs normal to look and behave like an adult as soon as you start puberty, I hate this entire instagram culture and I equally hate this gross societal practice that is arising of presenting young actresses (and role models) in the same manner as adults and consequently robbing them from the possibility of experiencing awkward teenage years only to force them from childhood directly into adulthood

How to not hate studying
Making study time a relaxing experience is the ultimate hack to detach the stress/obligation factor from it and start learning in a pleasing way
Start early: when the deadline is far enough to not worry, thatâs when itâs the perfect time. Timing will either add or susbtract anxiety.
Silence: white noise or classical tracks at a low volume can make a peaceful session but silence will give you a sharper focus. Try gradually transitioning into it if you need to.
The spot: this is up to you. I found i can concentrate best in a spot at home next to a window where i get plenty of natural light and i can see the backyard full of greenery.
Snacks: find what you like best and enjoy whilst studying. Remember to stay hydrated and that apples are great to boost your brain.
End your session when you finish a chapter: since iâve been doing this it feels like a higher accomplishment and makes it clear when its over so you can relax afterwards. Also the next session will feel fresher and more organized right from the begining.
Reward: you dont have to do anything spectacular for it. Even just saying to yourself âiâm proud of you for thisâ is just enough.
These made the biggest difference early in my college journey. Hope itâs helpful!
