Everything in this panel was hand-selected and filled. Hard work. No light sources, Tim’ll change it all later, make it look good. Glad I made him read The Incal. I can’t even imagine what it’d been like to colour that. This is only greyscale and I’m mentally exhausted.

A splashpage for the opening scene of the first episode, which no doubt Tim is filling up with details to then forward on to me to utilise my amazing 6 colour greyscale palette on. Just kidding. I love having something to do.

3D takes the tube up to the 277th level... Panel WIP.

Slight character redesign. Mostly the coat. I wanted it to be a bit more interesting and functional. Brought the collar up, whacked on some Marty McFly arms as per James' request and added some dapper lapels... The comic wont be in colour, but it's good to include the scheme in sketches to remind you that the world AINT black and white. Plus, James loves seeing 3D's ginger hair.

An example of an old panel, and a new version of it (b/w line-work only so far). While it is a pain to redraw everything, I guess it is my fault for being shittier back then. Ha! HEAPS for fun detail in the bottom panel...

I'm no Syd Mead, but his work on Blade runner was inspirational to this world. I burned all five versions in the DVD boxset in the backyard as a sacrifice to the scifinoir gods. My wife was very upset.

Character sketches of Robert "3D" Burns based partially on our old drinking buddy Uncle Marty. Acne scars and tiny hands courtesy of Bukowski. And is that Jerry Lee Lewis's hair?

In the beginning I'd type out the script and send it to Tim, and then I'd do these 'cinematic reference thumbnails' on a brown paper note pad that was about 80x100mm. Because of that I had to colour everything in just to be able to distinguish one element from the other.

The main man, Aldous Deerstalker. He's not really the protagonist of the story, more of a foil...maybe even the Antagonist.

Although, I tend to think that antiques are the main Antagonist.
