Foliage update

Y'all ready for another b-b-b-bonsai update??? Yes this is what most of my posting will be for now I'm in Tree Mode ™️

Lets start with the maples; definitely the most silly I've ever felt potting a plant because they just look like sticks when dormant and young. They're my first bonsai so the wiring was sub par and wobbly but the roots have gotten strong and I've packed the soil medium in better

Fortunately they both leafed out successfully and survived transplant shock! The girls are looking beautiful and I did my first wire and prune sesh with the big tree in the forest

Here it is post wire; I eventually want to significantly shorten that guy but right now she needs to strengthen the roots and thicken the trunk so I'm leaving the tall shoot as the current leader (and I'm not brave enough to try to bend the stiffer woody growth lmao)

And some detail shots; trying my hand at turning some removed branches into deadwood with the ol' jin pliers and lighter technique
