Cyberbullying is a type of bullying that happening in Social media. Social media made communication much easier and faster, with only one click people can reach each other. Prior to advanced technology, kids and teens are more often active in social media, that's why they are prone to Cyberbullying. What causes Cyberbullying and its effects on its victim? What actions should be taken to prevent this kind of bullying? What is Cyberbullying in the first place?
Cyberbullying is an act of bullying that happens on the internet or social media,
examples of cyberbullying are posting photos of victims in order to make fun of it, and saying negative things to victims that might affect their mental health. The victims of Cyberbullying are mostly students, just like ordinary bullying, Cyberbullying affects the mental state of a victim. In comparison to ordinary bullying, Cyberbullying affects their mental state twice than ordinary bullying according to Compartiech website. Cyberbullying cases doubled when the pandemic started when the students are more often using the Internet to attend their classes. The more time students spend on the internet, the higher chance that they will be a victim of cyberbullying. Schools need to stand up and protect those students who are being bullied on the internet since the life of the student are on the line. Counseling bullies and victims might help prevent cyberbullying, especially in schools.
Everyone's lives matter, no one should suffer because of cyberbullying, everyone needs to help each other to protect and help those victims who are suffering alone. Stand up and don't let anybody bully others, fighting bullying resolves to a better outcome. No one should suffer anymore, and no one should be bullied anymore, stand up before it’s too late
