Books on Libby have started disappearing.

My friend pointed it out first, and then I started noticing too. Why would books that multiple libraries definitely, 100% had digital access to a couple of months/weeks/days ago disappear?

Amazon is getting exclusive rights to them.

Ebooks that the public library once had digital copies of are now only available through Amazon. Audible boasts on their covers about Audible-exclusive audiobooks that did not used to be Audible-exclusive. Entire series and collections are disappearing overnight.

Keep your eyes on the privatization of media and your libraries.

Whenever people on the Internet start to try to have a conversation about tipping culture, especially in the United States, it always just becomes a massive shitshow because there are the people who are rightfully saying that restaurants need to pay their employees a living wage, which is true, but then there are servers in the comments saying if you don’t tip at all I’m going to be making like three dollars an hour, and there are a bunch of nasty people saying if you can’t afford to tip then you must be too broke to eat out and you should just eat dust particles at home. It always just becomes people getting very angry at each other and meanwhile restaurant and business owners are still somehow getting away with paying their employees almost nothing because they expect the customer to subsidize their wages. The conclusion here is that restaurant owners should pay their servers one William dollars each or they’re getting thrown in the deep fryer
