🍓: ooohhh nostalgic and sappy things for my dr are def like, stuff related to my childhood. “test drive” from how to train your dragon which was my favorite movie series growing up, (for obvious reasons), and honestly that entire franchise as well. the smell of my mom’s chicken alfredo and her frosted sugar cookies and the sparkling grape juice/apple cider my dad would buy for me and my brothers so we could also look fancy with him when he would drink wine while reading a book. the smell of lemon, vanilla, and flowers (my mom’s perfume), the leathery smell of punching bags and boxing gloves (home training gym where my parents both taught me martial arts growing up), and the smell of steel and motor oil (workshop where my brothers and dad built things in their free time). also, something for a bit later in my dr life, “if not for you” by maneskin, which is one of the songs i mainly attribute with katsuki and i

(also, sliding in my waiting room too, “merry go round of life,” cause that’s what i will wake up to when i shift there for the first time)

🧺: comfort items!! obviously, i have a ton considering my dragon instincts from my quirk influence me to hoard things i find comfort in, such as my gem/crystal/mineral hoard, fantasy books, nesting supplies (aka a godforsaken amount of blankets, pillows, and a few plushies), and even bath/spa products like scrubs and stuff. then (cause she’s technically an item) my precious little baby mech owl athena!! i love her with all of my existence (fun fact: athena actually is a familiar for all of my realities, this is just the form she has in my mha dr).

and, a whole other thing when it comes to physical comfort items, i have specially made padded covers that fit around all of the sharp parts of my dragon limbs for when i’m sleeping, cause i can’t hide them while i’m asleep. i had these made for me after a few too many times of waking up with shredded blankets from my wings, talons, or tail or from having pillows skewered on my horns.

💌: things my friends associate with me!! so, the most obvious one are fictional dragon characters, specifically smaug (hoarding gems) and toothless (black dragon, energy-like powers). another thing that my friends associate with me, especially after we move into the dorms, are cats!! several of the behaviors that come from my quirk are inspired by toothless funnily enough, who was inspired by cats. my catlike traits include the following: the cat yawn, being able to fall asleep literally anywhere, slit pupils that dilate when im focused or see something/someone i like, flexibility, etc. there is a definite smell that people associate with me, that being a sort of ozone/petrichor scent that smells like a lightning storm that comes from me using my energy.

basically, as i mentioned on an earlier poll, this dr is yearning to escape my brain, hence this kinda-intro with minimal formatting, maximal rambling, and, shockingly, proper capitalization and punctuation. and, as such, without further ado, introducing my mha drself...

DELANEY ARTEMIS QIN-RUSSO

𓆩✧𓆪 The youngest child of the U.S.'s Number 7 Pro Hero, Resonance Hero: Seraph (a.k.a. Kya Valerie Qin-Russo) and the current head (a.k.a. Sylus Alistair Qin-Russo) of one of the world's most influential hero tech/support business conglomerates, known as Onychinus. Naturally, with two older twin brothers (a.k.a. Luke Cassian Qin-Russo and Kieran Atlas Qin-Russo) who are 3rd years in the support course of UA High School, it's no wonder that she would end up going to the same school, after getting into the hero course’s Class 1-A on recommendations.

𓆩✧𓆪 Delaney’s Quirk is a dual Emitter/Mutant type known as Draconic Energy. The "energy" part of her quirk refers to her abilities of energy manipulation, a part passed down to her from her father’s Energy Manipulation quirk. Her energy typically manifests as black mist with streaks of blue when it’s used to make constructs, and she is able to manipulate most forms of energy (kinetic, potential, thermal, light, sound, etc., but she she mainly forms constructs). Meanwhile, her dragon-like traits are actually the result of an unexpected quirk mutation, leading to her having horns, dragon wings, talons, a tail, adapted eyes (slitted pupils with nictitating membranes), and even dragon-like instincts, such as nesting, hoarding (her particular items of choice being crystals, fantasy/romance books, blankets/any other kind of cozy item, and surprisingly, pretty decorative daggers), and protective instincts. For a little bit of flair, her left eye glows a bright, electric blue when she's using her energy manipulation, and it grows more radiant when she's doing more complex work. She is able to use her energy manipulation to retract all of her dragon traits except for her eyes, though it does take a tiny drain and her traits will reform once she falls asleep or goes unconscious. Also, her dragon limbs are actual body parts, so they can make her sore when they're used, especially her wings. Other drawbacks of her quirk include fatigue and headaches that come from using her energy manipulation and get worse with more use, until they develop into full-blown migraines and, at the worst, sleep comas that come from her quirk forcibly shutting down her body to recover lost energy, hence why she keeps caffeine pills and painkillers in her hero costume.

𓆩✧𓆪 Speaking of heroism, her hero name is Dragoness Hero: Scylla, named after a six-headed Greek sea monster occasionally depicted with a dragon-like appearance, with it being an allusion to her quirk's awakened state, Apex Predator (something that I will get into in a later post).

𓆩✧𓆪 Her hobbies and interests include things such as reading, playing video games, flying (especially during thunderstorms), dancing (she was an extremely good competitive dancer back in the U.S. before moving to Japan), martial arts (trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, boxing, and weapons), electric guitar, long spa-like baths (her wings are gigantic and being in water helps to take away the weight; plus she can’t feel things as much when her talons are out, so she retracts them cause she likes feeling and smelling bath products), geology (has her entire gemstone hoard memorized to exact cuts, colors, place of origin, and she WILL KNOW if it is touched), and the occasionally tinkering, because in a household filled with two chaotic engineer brothers, she has to know how to undo their chaos, especially when it comes to her mechanical owl.

𓆩✧𓆪 It is sort of an unofficial "tradition" within the Qin-Russo family, mainly started by Sylus, for each person to have a mechanical bird as a companion, modeled similarly to his own mechanical crow (with red eyes), Mephisto. Kya's bird is a barn owl with golden eyes named Ra and was a wedding gift. Meanwhile, Luke's falcon (red eyes) named Ares, Kieran's raven (also red eyes) named Nyx, and, of course, Delaney's mechanical great gray owl with blue eyes, named Athena. Athena is Delaney's companion (even leading to her sneaking her owl into the Class 1-A dorms when they moved in), and Delaney is very protective of her owl. As mentioned above, this can become a problem with her brothers, and exchanges similar to the following are very often heard in the Qin-Russo household.

𓆩✧𓆪 Switching topics here (and I'm gonna swap to first person cause yes), while I am going to around the first day of UA, I already know who my main friends are going to be. Said friends are Bakugo, Mina, Kirishima, Kaminari, Sero, and Jirou, and I am so, so unbelievably excited to meet and befriend them. And, of course, when it comes to my s/o, it will be none other than the aforementioned blonde, bombs-for-brains menace, ahem ahem Katsuki Bakugo. Basically, our dynamic progression is probably gonna be rivals to kinda friendly rivals to friends to best friends to mutual pining but in denial to finally dating around the end of second year. Most of the posts related to Katsuki on my blog will be tagged with “detonations and dragons 💥🐉” which is the ship name I came up with (play on Dungeons and Dragons).

Demidoll; Todoroki Isa as a Pro Hero

COSTUME

As pictured above, my hero costume consists of a few unusual elements. A skirt, for one, but also the pointe shoes and the thigh holster. This is because I ditched social conventions when designing my costume, opting for personalisation instead.

I did ballet for several years, so my feet are more used to movements in these shoes, allowing for more physical range and efficiency.

Similarly, a skirt is far more forgiving than pants, since the material will simply bend or hike up if I do a hard move, rather than stopping me. With this skirt, the only limit on my legs' movements is my own flexibility.

As for the goggles and the thigh holster, these are present to make up for my Quirk's lack of physicality. See, I can launch myself at high speeds, but I'm not immune to flies getting caught in my eyes, and I can start fires, but I can't handle the smoke and ashes going in my eyes. The goggles, albeit a little goofy, are important to my safety.

The thigh holster serves the same purpose; after finding out about Quirk-cancelling drugs, I was quick to start training with kunai and incorporate them into my costume. I'm not pumping with testosterone, and my frame is rather petite—a girl's gotta be able to protect herself even without her Quirk, right?

MOVES

!!! BASIC MOVES (Little focus required)

“Matter Shift” is a move that turns all of one kind of thing (ice, water, fire, anything I choose, within a chosen radius) into another kind of thing. I can choose booth aspects, like turning water into ice or wood into fire, as long as I know either the components or the location/dimensions of the specified (original) matter.

“Lumi”; a hip-high, semi sentient dragon made entirely out of blue flames (and thus invulnerable and immaterial). She shares my memories, and personality, and the intensity of my feelings affects the intensity of her (flames) and her feelings — if I'm really happy and she's angry, her anger will intensify. Lumi can be made larger without limit. Lumi doubles as a great housepet and hot water bottle.

!!! SIGNATURE MOVES (Medium focus required)

  “Attention Seekers” — Send out a Seeker each to track down the three closest enemies. If a Seeker reaches its target, it nearsights and slows them. Seekers are similar to Lumi, but not the same.

  “Traveler” — Lets me drift into invisibility and intangibility, unable to be affected or seen by people from the outside.

  “World Divided” — Create a Cosmic Divide that blocks vision, blocks projectiles, and heavily dampens audio. It costs more focus if the wall/divider is thinner, and is easier if the wall/divider is thicker. The length can be customized.

!!! ULTIMATE MOVES (High focus required, or is very powerful)

  “Matter Shift: Supernova” is a derivative of Matter Shift. It turns all of one kind of thing (ice, water, fire, anything I choose, within a chosen radius), into blue firework sparkles. Fireworks and explosions, more like. Requires little focus, as it only takes one second to use, but is very powerful.

  “Begone” — Teleportation of lifeless objects and/or living beings. Requires a lot of focus, especially if done with people and not lifeless objects (because one wrong move, one slight miscalculation, and they could instantly die). Additionally, Begone can be used to travel to entirely different universes. This is how, one day, while training Begone and testing the limits of it, I end up in a different universe.

  “Doll’s Domain” hurls a column of energy forward to a chosen enemy, pulling me and the chosen enemy into an interdimensional arena. Requires high focus (for however long it takes for either me or the enemy to be defeated), and is powerful. This interdimensional arena can take one of three forms (but I can't control which of the three it is, unless I use significantly/dangerously more focus):

“Doll's Domain: Omitted Omniscience” traps the target inside the Limitless. Once inside, the domain floods them with endless information, rendering them immobile. This is similar to what happens to Neito Monoma when he gains access to my Quirk during the sports festival.

“Doll's Domain: Artsy Palace” is a domain where my targets are hit with animation frames, forcing them to abide by the 24 FPS rule. Failure to follow the rule freezes up the cells in their body, disrupting their cellular structure and severely damaging them.

“Doll's Domain: Eye-to-eye” is a domain with nothing except a few pillars. It requires heavy focus from me, so if I use my Quirk for more than just maintaining the domain, the domain (and everything/everyone in it) could shatter, so I shouldn't use my Quirk for more than just maintaining the domain. On the other hand, the chosen enemy can't use their Quirk either, so it's a relatively fair fight with only weapons and hand-to-hand combat available.

SUPPORT GADGETS

Bracelet with several fidget functions, as well as a built-in flashlight. Also rose gold to match my jewellery and be subtle.

Vibrating ring, to remind me to stay focused. Also doubles as a fidget ring, because the outer part spins. Rose gold, to match my jewellery and be subtle.

Outer ear earbuds, so I can listen to music (which boosts my focus) while hearing my surroundings and working. The earbuds can be tuned into hero work channels like regular ear devices, but stop working when I activate Begone (depending on if I teleport out of range of the radio channel), World Divided (depending on the situation), Traveler, and/or Doll's Domain.

We end up tweaking the earbuds to react to my fights and be similar to an announcer so it gives me more dopamine (and more focus because of the increased dopamine). So if I knock someone out it'll say “K.O.”, if there's only one villain left it'll say “One enemy remaining”, if I take down a whole group of villains by myself it'll say “Ace”, if my allies all become compromised and I take down the villains it'll say “clutch”, if I'm the only one left on my team and there's only one villain left on their team it'll say “sudden death”, etcetera — basically, it's exactly the Valorant announcer.
