Do you perchance mean my dear sister Abigail?” Appearing at her side, a ghostly apparition kept close to Wendy as the ten year old remained not a bit frightened, “Though… even I alone would set off your scanners if they sense those of a deathly nature, o’ Demon.” T’was true, if it could detect a certain specific level of their nature? The girls would cause the scanner to go haywire this close with their combined readings and anomalous beings compared to the usual riff-raft, but Abigail especially being a powerful specter.

   “HM...” It was odd - these two girls alone were emitting about the same level of anomalous readings that the Skullgirl’s catacombs had given off - the catacombs that housed not only the Skullgirl, but the Skull Heart within her, and the hundreds of undead guarding them.

Glowing yellow eyes squint in suspicion, metal arms crossing over the bot’s chest. There were no theonite readings, so this couldn’t be a Skullgirl, nor any of her minions, but… Well, it was powerful, and every single one of Robo-Fortune’s scanners had started screaming ‘threat’ at her.

“YOU SAY YOU ARE ‘ANCIENT’? IS YOUR GHOST PERHAPS A PARASITE, OR SOMETHING KEEPING YOU ALIVE? I HAVE MET, AND DEFEATED, TWO SIMILAR CASES - BOTH ALSO FORMS OF UNDEAD.”

     Giving a curtsy to them, drenched in blood as gore and pieces of body parts littered the surrounding area, “Greetings o’ mechanical demon whose eyes stare to the farthest reach, what brings you to my time of play as I slay?” Done exclaiming to the metal entity with that odd greeting, she couldn’t help but notice that they resembled a cat, yet they were a machine so it would stay her wrath for now as it wasn’t a true cat in her eyes being made of metal.

   … Why were humans always so weird around this part of town? Valentine, that one melty lady from the church, the kid with the weird arms… and now Kid Poetry over here with her fairly concerning readings lighting up Robo Fortune’s scanners…

Robo Fortune would have said something concerning the odd greeting, but… well, the kid had apparently killed a bunch of people, and RF did like the ‘Mechanical Demon’ nickname. She’d cut the kid a little slack here.

“I WAS FOLLOWING REPORTS OF AN CHILD ATTACKING CIVILIANS. WHAT WITH THE PREVIOUS SKULL GIRL BEING AROUND THIRTEEN YEARS OF AGE, AND THE HIGH SPIKES IN UNDEAD READINGS IN THIS DIRECTION, I FELT IT WOULD BE WITHIN MY BEST INTERESTS TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER, BEEP BOOP MEOW.”

in Boots", is a European literary fairy tale about a cat who uses trickery and deceit to gain power, wealth, and the hand of a princess in marriage for his penniless and low-born master. The oldest record of written history dates from Italian author Giovanni Francesco Straparola, who included it in his The Facetious Nights of Straparola (c. 1550–53) in XIV–XV. Another version was published in 1634 by Giambattista Basile with the title Cagliuso, and a tale was written in French at the close of the seventeenth century by Charles Perrault (1628–1703), a retired civil servant and member of the Académie française.[1] The tale appeared in a handwritten and illustrated manuscript two years before its 1697 publication by Barbin in a collection of eight fairy tales by Perrault called Histoires ou contes du temps passé.[2][3] The book was an instant success and remains popular.[1]

Perrault's Histoires has had considerable impact on world culture. The original Italian title of the first edition was Costantino Fortunato, but was later known as Il gatto con gli stivali (lit. The cat with the boots); the French title was "Histoires ou contes du temps passé, avec des moralités" with the subtitle "Les Contes de ma mère l'Oye" ("Stories or Fairy Tales from Past Times with Morals", subtitled "Mother Goose Tales"). The frontispiece to the earliest English editions depicts an old woman telling tales to a group of children beneath a placard inscribed "MOTHER GOOSE'S TALES" and is credited with launching the Mother Goose legend in the English-speaking world.[2] "Puss in Boots" has provided inspiration for composers, choreographers, and other artists over the centuries. The cat appears in the third act pas de caractère of Tchaikovsky's ballet The Sleeping Beauty,[4] and appears in the sequels to the animated film Shrek. Puss in Boots is a popular pantomime in the UK.
