-‘ chosen love ’-

silently getting ready to come up the stage again to end the music show and announce the winner, yanna’s head was in a whirl. somehow, a small question spinned through her head despite the fact that she already answered it.

“do you really love your members or were you left with no choice but to love them ‘cause you’re stuck with them?”

she immediately responded to the question, saying she loved them, of course. but why was the question playing in her head like a song? she doesn’t even remember who asked it, yet the words were so fresh in her head even as she stood among the other groups who bowed to her on the way to the front of the stage.

she loves her members, she’s very vocal about it too. and her actions show it a lot, but suddenly she was doubting where the love is coming from.

was it from a place of fear? that maybe she loves them and shows them she does, because she’s afraid they’d cast her out from the group and make it all just business with her?

was it simply gratitude? these actions and words are all because they welcomed her and not at all because she did care about them? was she really that selfish all this time?

or maybe she doesn’t actually love them and she’s just required to act that way, as part of her job?

these are quite a lot of the words she sees online about her and her love for her members, everyone was doubting her intentions. and now, she is too as she stood in the middle of multiple groups who were laughing and giggling with their members.

she thought back to how the seven of them are on the stage during times like these, nervous yet still laughing about something dumb they all talked about in the dressing room. mark would be hitting jaemin’s shoulder while losing his mind over the joke, while the younger one slightly chuckles with a smirk to try to keep his composure in front of the other artists. jisung would be beside her, confused as to why they’re laughing that hard and chenle would be pointing at haechan who’d be struggling not to cry from giggling too much. renjun would be listening intently to the mc, and jeno would be hiding his head behind him to stop himself from wheezing.

but for now, she was alone. was she longing for them? would that make the netizens right? that she’s only afraid of losing them, that’s why she shows appreciation towards them?

“yanna-ssi, congratulations!” the mc’s announced, making her absentmindedly glance towards them with questioning eyes. her eyes widened as she was handed the trophy, both unsure and confused.

“congratulations, sunbaenim.” one of the mcs mumbled away from his mic, to which she replied to with a small ‘thank you’. he tried to hand her the flowers, but immediately noticed her hands full. before he could move again, another hand reached for the flowers as she heard more footsteps near her instead of away from her.

glancing at who took the flowers, her heart stopped. and all she could hear was the members’ voices encouraging her to say her winning speech behind her. it was cliché, but it’s as if time went by slowly when the man smiled at her and pointed towards the fans. with a small smile, she turned to the camera and thanked everyone.

“first of all, i’d like to thank SM Entertainment for giving me the opportunity to release my own music like this. second, the staffs who helped me pull this off and make a great album and concept to express myself with. then, our czennies who never stopped supporting us whether we’re as a group or doing solo works. this wouldn’t be possible without you!” she said in almost one breath while the members cheered behind her, purposely ignoring them to stop herself from tearing up.

“why are you crying?” haechan teased her from behind, immediately being shushed by renjun who saw her resisting tears.

“and, lastly. my members. my chosen loves” she added with no explanation, thanking how her song was already playing and she had to perform an encore of it instead of facing the 7 who were confused with the new term she had for them. her chosen loves.

she clutched her eyes tightly, hearing the members attempt to sing and dance to her song. with chenle yelling out her rap verse and jisung genuinely asking her if she was alright as she melted in jeno’s embrace. mark loudly asking what was wrong and jaemin patting her head while chuckling, while renjun and haechan fought over who would put the flower they picked from the bouquet on her ear. she felt at peace.

it wasn’t any of the things people thought it was. she simply loved them, no matter what they do or don’t do. no matter what they were or aren’t. because they were always what she loved about them. they were genuine. they’re her chosen love, that she will continue to choose over and over again.

i hope i was able to fulfill this request well! regarding the fan reactions, i’ll make sure to post it soon. thank you for leaving this request in, i really enjoyed writing it. <3

yanna on youngji’s ‘no prepare’ show

youngji starts off saying she’s always wanted to meet the guest, but also complaining at the randomness of the drink and food they made her prepare for the girl.

youngji: look. we’re drinking this [points at a bottle of vodka], eating this [points at a foil wrapped in something] and this [points at a bowl of buttered popcorn]. it’s like from three different places.

she continues preparing a shot glass of vodka before unwrapping the foil and revealing the thick cut of pork, mumbling about how expensive everything was and asking if having an expensive company ties in with having expensive taste.

the staffs then reply that the popcorn isn’t expensive and she grabs a receipt from the side to show how much the vodka was, since she chose an expensive brand.

staff: you chose that though.

youngji: i don’t wanna make her drink a cheap one.

yanna then arrives and quietly knocks on her door, carrying a paper bag and youngji instantly lets her in after seeing she brought something.

she first bowed to the staff before turning to youngji who was surprised she greeted them first.

“it’s a gift, ‘cause you’ve been doing well”, she hands her the paper bag before pulling out smaller paper bags that were inside and giving them out to the staff.

youngji: unnie. this isn’t your album, right?

“no, it’s out of stock” she silently joked, chuckling before returning to youngji’s side who was confused. they both peeked at the paper bag and it was a bunch of accessories and small clothing items for her which left youngji surprised, even asking “are you an angel?”

“i am, aren’t i? i know”, she jokingly mumbled as she looped an arm around hers. “i was looking at your style before picking these out, so i’m sure you’ll get to wear them”, she added while youngji was looking at the camera and staffs in surprise.

youngji: unnie, do you want to guest here every week?

literally cue yanna laughing and saying “you’re gonna get me drunk every week? call.”

they both settled down and yanna exclaims at the bottle of vodka in front of her, saying she had rehearsals after the shoot while youngji just says “you’re a pro, you can do it. you could probably even backflip.”

“i can’t even do that when i’m sober.”

youngji asked for them to clink glasses and she immediately obliged before bowing to the staffs and saying “i’m apologizing this early”.

“should we drop formalities?” she immediately asks youngji after drinking a shot, the younger one agreeing and asking if yanna was comfortable with that.

“i’m more uncomfortable when people call me ‘unnie’. no one in my company calls me ‘unnie’.”

she glances at the table and noticed the thick samgyupsal similar to how jaemin makes it and immediately pointed at it. “try this, it’s really delicious”, she mumbled towards youngji and feeds her a piece to which the younger one exclaimed at saying it was yummy.

youngji: fatty food’s perfect when drinking.

yanna: mhm, that’s why we always eat this when we drink.

youngji: i’ve been really curious from the start about this, but why do you also eat popcorn when you drink? do you drink in movie theaters?

cue yanna chuckling while trying to swallow her drink to give an answer but also just grabbing one and saying “for the sound” before munching on it and pointing towards her mouth to prove a point.

youngji left dumbfounded by the answer and saying yanna’s strange, to which she just laughs at.

“you know drunk people talk a lot, so i use it to drown them out”, the older one adds.

youngji then brought up that she bought the girl’s album and yanna’s surprise made the staffs laugh.

youngji: why are you so shocked?

yanna: i didn’t think i was your style, youngji-ah.

the shock on the younger one’s face actually evident before she rants about how many female artists and idols are rooting for yanna because of her stage presence. even saying she likes her as a rapper, to which yanna immediately doubted while pouring herself a drink and sipping on it quickly.

“why would you like me? i’m an idol rapper, aren’t i?”, she says while pushing the younger one’s shoulder and pointing towards the camera— slightly provoking rappers who’ve said the same about her(yanna). and youngji’s just there laughing and clapping.

youngji: who said that? i won’t greet them when we meet. who said it?

“honestly, there’s nothing wrong with that. i’m an idol rapper, so what? why is that a shade towards me? idol rappers are still rappers, just so happens that we’re in an idol group.” she starts ranting, to which youngji agreed with wholeheartedly.

“but, they make it look like idol rappers aren’t all real rappers and all rappers are automatically good. they’re not. [insert everyone literally laughing at the shade] there are good idol rappers who can pass off as rappers if they weren’t idols from the start. and there are rappers that aren’t even good. so why are idol rappers labeled as bad and we’re only considered good if people end up calling us rappers?”

youngji: are you rapping right now?

cue yanna chuckling and sitting near youngji to explain her point and the younger one saying she understands and was just teasing her.

youngji: but you’re a good rapper though. it’s not idol rappers vs. rappers, it’s just a good rapper or a bad rapper.

“EXACTLY!”

youngji then starts talking about the first time she saw yanna on tv, dancing on a hoverboard and she almost spit her drink out.

youngji: no, i really wanted to be like you. i was also confused why you were the only girl, but it sounded fun. like a family with only one daughter.

“honestly, i think the company wanted more girls to join but i was already a lot to handle. they just gave up after letting me debut, i tired out staffs out.”

“they probably felt like having multiple mes would lead sm to bankruptcy”, she mumbled as she unironically drank the expensive vodka youngji bought for her.

“somehow, i thought you’ve been in the industry longer than me” she mumbled towards youngji, to which the younger replied to with “no, i came in 2019. you’ve been in the industry for almost 6 years.”

“i’ve been here for more than 5 years?”, she asks in surprise at the staff. the room erupted in laughter at her small realization until she just stared at the table blinking.

“isn’t that pityful of me? i don’t think i’ve done much in almost 6 years?” she genuinely asked, glancing at the staff. one of them noticed her tearing up and she laughed it off.

youngji: why? you came out with a solo album, didn’t you? why is it pityful?

yanna literally saying “i feel bad for myself”, while covering her face both laughing and crying.

youngji: unnie, you made a solo debut! you did something before reaching 6 years!

“why don’t my hyungs have solo albums?” she asks to no one, both crying and laughing still while the staffs feel bad for her yet the scene was too funny.

still yanna: chenle too. jisung! jisung’s working so hard.

it takes her a while to calm down and youngji too ‘cause she started crying with her.

youngji: i don’t know why i cried, i’m not even in a group.

they then moved on to a topic youngji was curious about.

youngji: i’m really curious about this. but being with guys a lot, isn’t it awkward when your bra strap shows?

“that’s why i don’t wear it”, she almost immediately replies.

youngji: EH?

the girl then explains that during performances or in outfits that involve a bit of skin, she doesn’t wear a bra but uses a nipple tape instead. specially when it’s hot.

youngji: do you use the flower one too?

her eyes widen because she actually does and ends up asking her where the girl found out about it and youngji just laughs at the question, telling yanna to continue her story.

“i use it because it’s perfect. and then for stage outfits, i usually get mine customized to a point that my chest can’t even breathe anymore. just so nothing’s falling out in any way.”

literally even shows how the chest part of her outfit should look.

youngji: so you just never wear a bra? are you wearing one right now?

“i wear sports bra when we do rehearsals and when it’s convenient for my clothes!” she immediately answers before pouring both of them drinks and saying the show’s fun.

they move on once again and youngji starts singing her song “abittipsy/오늘 주금 취해서 그래” as they clinked glasses.

youngji: why did you write that? did you break up?

“yeah”, she mumbles immediately.

youngji: ???

yanna: not, right now! before, we did.

she then explained that it was more of a break than a break up and she was just sad about it, but couldn’t tell anyone because they would intervene.

yanna: when we would drink, he would always catch shots meant for me. so, honestly… i don’t remember how much i’ve had today but this is definitely the drunkest the nct members will see me, except dream.

youngji then brought up her title track, which was also a bit about her boyfriend and said she was curious about one line.

youngji: there’s a line where you said ‘red lipstick, even it gets messy because of you’. what does it mean?

yanna literally chokes on her drink and smiles before banging her head against the table leaving everyone laughing at the reaction.

youngji: i mean, i think we get it. but we want to GET it.

“it means exactly what you think it means”, she replied subtly, even gesturing towards everyone.

youngji: 뽀뽀? or 키스?

“making out, of course!” she replies in english, instantly leaving youngji cackling while they high-five, with the staffs complain about the noise.

youngji: it’s interesting how you two are dating when you’re in the same group. was the company okay with it?

yanna laughs at the question and starts saying “you’re so young, youngji-ah” randomly, leaving the girl dumbfounded.

“it wasn’t easy! do you think couples from other companies would keep their relationships if it was easy????”

cue youngji laughing her ass off asking the staffs if SME was fine with yanna saying these things but the girl replied with “everyone knows this!”

yanna: at the end, i honestly think they were just left with no choice. everyone was already noticing it and dispatch was about to reveal it, that’s why sm announced before them.

she shared the info carelessly while munching on popcorn, leaving youngji on the floor worried for the episode.

youngji: i’m less worried about her, i think her company’s going to suspend my show.

yanna: no, i got you. i can say it’s all a joke in another interview, it’s fine.

youngji then says she’s tired before sitting next to yanna who placed the girl’s head on her shoulder, tapping her cheek. “you did well today, youngji-ah.”

youngji: why do i feel like tearing up???

“it’s because we’re both drunk and tired”, yanna answered for her before feeding the girl popcorn.

youngji: it’s sad but you have to leave.

“what’s weird is, this is the first time we’ve met but we’re sitting here like two drunk friends”, yanna mumbled while chuckling.

she gave youngji one of the bracelets she was wearing and said “i’ll see you soon, youngji-ah” dramatically before grabbing her shoes to wear and waving goodbye to everyone. she bowed towards the staff once again and thanked them for having her while she asked youngji if she could give her a cheek kiss before departing. the girl agreed and let yanna go on her way.

youngji: i don’t really know if i like skinship, but she’s really comfortable. i get it. i get it, renjun-ssi!

after filming

one of the outtakes then showed yanna asking if she could nap on the seat before going to her rehearsals and youngji offering her bed. yanna then said she can’t sleep in other people’s bed so it was fine.

youngji: i’ll get you pillows.

“rappers are so nice”, yanna teases, making the younger one fall to her seat laughing.

˚ ༘♡ ⋆｡˚ highlights from yanna’s solo fansign ˚ ༘♡ ⋆｡˚

literally the first thing she did after getting the mic was apologizing over dream not being able to hold a fansign like this as a group. then proceeds to rant about the boys’ health and wellbeing.

“also you’re meeting us soon for our concert, let’s all just be patient. we’re preparing a lot of things for you.”

attempts to walk down the stage a bunch of times but security’s strict and her manager stops her as well. fans aren’t even mad, they find it funny how yanna just pouts after being stopped by everyone.

constantly asks if they’ve eaten, fans who attended are pretty sure she asked everyone while signing their albums/stuff.

she even ordered drinks for everyone who attended. it was mid-fansign when a bunch of staffs carried loads of different drinks inside the venue and distributed it to the fans.

“enjoy!”

casually talking to them like her friends while sitting on the edge of the stage hugging a cogimyun plushie one fan gave her.

“this morning, noran kept sitting on the couch and smelling one part of it. i was wondering why, and realized it’s where jisung sits. she misses him, but the things is we’re exhausted these days. i don’t invite him over because i fall asleep right when i get home.”

while talking to the fans, they informed her that one of the people who attended was a rookie but he already left.

“eh? who?”

they told her his name and was shocked when she said she hasn’t checked out the teaser for them yet.

“he probably got forced to be here”, she joked. until one of the staffs confirmed that the rookie actually wanted her signature and they sent him to get it in the fansign.

“that’s.. new.”

in the middle of her signing, three men with secured caps on came up the stage and before the fans could react they already turned and motioned for them to keep quiet.

it was jeno, haechan and renjun lining up to get their album’s signed and show support as a surprise for yanna.

she almost didn’t notice until she looked up and caught a glimpse of jeno’s face, her giggles filled the venue as she asked him who to address the message to and he said “yoit”.

literally grabs the mic and starts scolding them, actually.

“i just told czennies we can’t hold events like these because we treasure our health and you’re here.”

haechan: we’re supporting you! you might be lonely here.

ends up giving the three a hug because she’s actually a bit touched they’re there for her.

the whole hall squealing when renjun had his album signed yet laughing when haechan brought up that the two weren’t even talking.

⋆ ┊8lette of our Youth┊⋆

a/n: honestly have no idea if someone has used “8lette” to replace 7llin’ because i haven’t been around much. but yeah, it’ll be “8lette of our youth” and the other one’s “8lette in the dream”. brief explanation, i just think that these trips/series shows the members’ different colors since it shows how they are behind performances. hence, palette. and since 8 is “pal” in korean, i think it made a lot of sense. enjoy!

➺ EP 1: we’re coming together

✿ yanna sleepily placing her chin on jisung’s shoulder while the group discussed the things they wanted for the series, more likely(and adorable) than you thought.

✿ the only time she disagreed was when jisung mentioned ice hotels, making her hit his arm while vigorously shaking her head.

✿ “glamping’s when you camp out but with more… things. like, a bed. and more… things”, she tried explained to mark who asked what it was.

✿ but the rest of the talk, she was definitely silent and didn’t even care what the seven were saying at that point.

✿ for the manito, she ended up picking haechan and basically “pfft”-ed as she showed it to the camera.

✿ yanna kissing the camera goodbye? a tradition at this point.

✿ as they entered the bus, haechan immediately pulled her to sit next to him before almost begging jeno to sit next to her. normally, it only fits four people but hyuck already had her arm on a lock so she couldn’t move to another seat anymore.

✿ “honestly, you’re my manito. aren’t you?” she asked him suspiciously, to which he only replied to with a whisper that no one else heard but them two. it made her laugh hard as hell though, so the members were confused.

✿ as they played games and mark lost, yanna cheered on jeno’s ear and haechan “scolded” her.

✿ haechan: don’t do that to jeno.

✿ jeno: … are you pitying me?

✿ chenle: he must be your manito.

✿ mark: am i really paying for everyone’s food?

✿ jaemin and jisung: …

✿ yanna: i’m already tired, honestly.

✿ yeah. that.

✿ once they played another game wherein they can’t laugh nor speak in english, yanna was already struggling just from hearing the rules. frustratedly, she slapped herself to prevent it all from coming out but haechan stopped her.

✿ haechan: that’s cheating.

✿ as soon as jisung lost and jeno followed after, she bursted out laughing at the shipping agenda the members had.

✿ “no, but seriously jeno you should’ve just said you wanted to help him. no need to make yourself lose.~”, she teased him herself. earning her a bite on her arm.

✿ cue yanna preparing to move seats but now there’s two arms pulling her back, and renjun saying “don’t go”. that obviously stopped her, rolling her eyes as the members teased her for listening to him.

✿ as they arrived to buy some food, she trailed behind renjun and whispered about wanting 순대 before eventually finding it and happily buying with mark’s money.

✿ renjun: are you happy?

✿ with yanna full on blushing while nodding, wearing a big smile on her face as she bought herself some 겨란 빵.

✿ #yanren.

✿ renjun entering the bus before asking if it was the right one sent her cracking, and mark saying he should’ve asked first before entering almost made her spill her food.

✿ her and renjun sharing the fishcake because she knows damn well he isn’t good at finishing his food.

✿ jeno: are you elementary school students?

✿ “old man, shut up”, she snaps back before jeno literally sits in between her and renjun while mark laughs.

✿ she also shared her food with haechan, ignoring jeno who kept asking for one piece. eventually she gave in and fed him a piece before giving the rest of her food to jisung who only bought a sausage.

✿ once chenle was decided as the one who’ll buy them drinks, she offered to come with him but he refused. in return, he bought her favorite flavor of frappe as he came back.

✿ chenle: since yanna offered to help, i bought her the best one.

✿ she only looked at him suspiciously though, but eventually thanked him for the drink. which, also ended up in haechan’s care.

✿ haechan: these two can never finish anything.

✿ mark chokes on his spit laughing over what yanna could only assume was a dirty joke based on what hyuck said.

✿ as they arrived, she took off her third layer of coat and paused after seeing a huge beetle fly towards her. jaemin stopped, noticing the girl literally freeze and look around.

✿ jaemin: what happened?

✿ girl can’t speak so he had to look around before realizing there was a beetle nearby. as the good bestfriend that he is, he held her arms and gently pushed her to walk while saying “it’s gone, it’s gone”.

✿ letting the others drop their bags inside and instantly jumping on jeno’s back on the way to the sea, she mumbled about her being sleepy and jisung overheard.

✿ jisung: you can sleep while we cook later.

✿ she cooed about how cute jisung was but declined saying “i have to cook too, jisungie.”

✿ nearing the beach, she quietly took her shoes and socks off. even pulling her pants up swiftly, enough for the members not to notice, before walking towards the water and literally freezing.

✿ cue all the members scolding her in different ways.

✿ haechan: your pants will get wet, ae-cha ya!

✿ chenle: your feet!

✿ mark: the pebbles hurt, yanna. be careful!

✿ jaemin and jeno literally going: don’t be stupid!

✿ in different tones, you know what i mean.

✿ jisung: come back quickly!

✿ he even almost got in the water to pull her but he didn’t want wet shoes.

✿ then there’s renjun who’s like: huang ae-cha..

✿ they all moved forward to help her get off and quickly warm her toes up because she might be spontaneous but she also suffered from it.

✿ basically hung off jeno’s back the whole time they tried to prank jisung, literally sleepy.

✿ as they arrived to buy some food, she trailed behind renjun and whispered about wanting 순대 before eventually finding it and happily buying with mark’s money.

✿ with yanna full on blushing while nodding, wearing a big smile on her face as she bought herself some 겨란 빵.

✿ renjun entering the bus before asking if it was the right one sent her cracking, and mark saying he should’ve asked first before entering almost made her spill her food.

✿ her and renjun sharing the fishcake because she knows damn well he isn’t good at finishing his food.

✿ “old man, shut up”, she snaps back before jeno literally sits in between her and renjun while mark laughs.

✿ once chenle was decided as the one who’ll buy them drinks, she offered to come with him but he refused. in return, he bought her favorite flavor of frappe as he came back.

✿ chenle: since yanna offered to help, i bought her the best one.

✿ she only looked at him suspiciously though, but eventually thanked him for the drink. which, also ended up in haechan’s care.

✿ haechan: these two can never finish anything.

✿ mark chokes on his spit laughing over what yanna could only assume was a dirty joke based on what hyuck said.

✿ as they arrived, she took off her third layer of coat and paused after seeing a huge beetle fly towards her. jaemin stopped, noticing the girl literally freeze and look around.

✿ jaemin: what happened?

✿ letting the others drop their bags inside and instantly jumping on jeno’s back on the way to the sea, she mumbled about her being sleepy and jisung overheard.

✿ jisung: you can sleep while we cook later.

✿ she cooed about how cute jisung was but declined saying “i have to cook too, jisungie.”

✿ nearing the beach, she quietly took her shoes and socks off. even pulling her pants up swiftly, enough for the members not to notice, before walking towards the water and literally freezing.

✿ cue all the members scolding her in different ways.

✿ haechan: your pants will get wet, ae-cha ya!

✿ chenle: your feet!

✿ mark: the pebbles hurt, yanna. be careful!

✿ jaemin and jeno literally going: don’t be stupid!

✿ in different tones, you know what i mean.

✿ jisung: come back quickly!

✿ he even almost got in the water to pull her but he didn’t want wet shoes.

✿ then there’s renjun who’s like: huang ae-cha..

✿ they all moved forward to help her get off and quickly warm her toes up because she might be spontaneous but she also suffered from it.

-‘ 사탕 ’-

if fans asked jisung how she met yanna, he would never give the answer. not because he doesn’t remember, but simply because it was embarrassing for him. the only person who knows about it is jaemin, and even he didn’t let the poor boy live it down for years. yup, years.

jaemin would always whisper ‘사탕’ when the members are asked about their first impressions of each other and how they felt meeting as trainees and jisung would immediately flush up in embarrassment. none of the members would understand why, and yanna who did… would simply ignore it and mind her own business. no reason to worsen the boy’s already reddened cheeks.

the thing is, jisung was a small kid. yanna entered the agency the same year, yet she came a bit late and had zero korean knowledge. she only knew how to introduce herself, not ask about her co-trainees. unless it was mark. but of course, having jeno approach her almost everyday made her recognize the people around him. specifically those four boys he always hung out with at lunch and even in the practice rooms.

that’s why looking around the cafeteria, she noticed jisung alone. eating a bunch of food he genuinely looked like he stole from a candy shop, to her eyes at least. she wanted to ask where his friends were, but she wasn’t sure how to say that yet. equally not wanting to embarrass herself /and/ him if ever he tries to reply in english. her head contemplated a few times, wanting to not look lonely but also not wanting to force a friendship on him when it was only jeno who kept inviting her to lunch.

closing her eyes, she dragged herself to a nearby table and placed her food. glancing at the kid who seemed incredibly happy with his food, also wondering how good he could’ve been to finish practice early. it bothered her a bit, looking at his food. they were all… sweets.

“ae-cha, drink lots of water while eating sweets if you don’t want your teeth to hurt.”

she shook her mother’s words out of her head, not wanting to stay in other people’s business.

yet, her eyes kept darting towards the two water bottles she had due to an earlier reminder by one of her co-trainees. johnny..? yeah, she thinks his name was johnny. munching on a piece of breaded pork, she sighed and grabbed one of her bottles before walking over to where jisung was seated.

“here.” she mumbled, catching herself instantly before saying “uhm, 자? 여기?” unsurely. jisung could only look at her, mumbling a small “thank you” which was taught to him early on. yanna tightly smiled before walking away, not really sure how to feel about the interaction.

finally, she was sure she could finally mind her own business until her gaze found the boy again. struggling to open the water bottle. her raven hair bounced as she forcibly tried to look away, sure that jisung would eventually be found by one of his friends. but as if the food cooperated with her conscience, it started to look less appetizing.

“god.” she mumbled internally before finishing the rest of the pork up and grabbing her other bottle, making her way towards jisung’s table after throwing her trash out. without a word, the girl swiftly pulled it out of the boy’s grasp and opened it before giving it back with another tight smile. casually, she slid herself on the seat next to the one adjacent the boy and played with her bottle. honestly just waiting for one of his friends to arrive and join him so he doesn’t end up with a huge sugar crash.

“사탕.”, jisung mumbled while giving yanna one of the candies he had. although not speaking, her face only showed confusion as the boy chuckled. he repeated the word and pointed towards the ball of pure sweetness, not noticing how jaemin arrived and watched the whole thing.

“뭐 해?(what are you doing?)” the older one asked, with jisung literally freezing up and dropping the candy. yanna glanced at jaemin in delight, ready to say her goodbyes to the youngest in the table. “고마워”, she mumbled towards him before grabbing the candy and walking away.

jisung silently smiled, blushed a bit and ignored jaemin’s teasing. “whatever, hyung. i’m just relieved that’s all you saw”, he mumbled with a pout as jaemin sat in front of him.

“you wish. saw the whole thing, jisung-ie. she opened the bottle she gave you, right?” he asked teasingly, wondering if he remembered it right as the boy only looked at him in utter betrayal.

“she’s pretty.” jaemin mumbled, making jisung look at him in pure disgust. not because he found her ugly, but just the compliment out of nowhere.

“she’s kind too, you should’ve mentioned that first.” he absentmindedly scolded the older one, shutting his mouth as soon as the others arrived with mark asking who they were talking about.

“사탕.”, jaemin replied with a grin to which jisung could only ignore and continue eating.

to this day, none of the members know about that story. only the three. and to yanna, that story was cute since the candy jisung gave her eventually saved the girl from fainting once. it’s part of why she treasures jisung the most.

➺ EP. 1

as the groups were introduced, yanna entered with the white team. she hung on yuta’s back until he started going wild so she jumped down to let him be.

while explaining the rules of the games sungchan raised his hand and commented that white team had one player more than them, basically pointing at yanna.

“do you wanna fight?” she asked him jokingly, stepping forward before haechan pulled her to the center asking them not to fight.

haechan and jungwoo explained that yanna was a special player and each game, a member from each team would play rock, paper, scissors to decide which team she would play in. whoever wins gets to decide whether they want her in their team or on the other.

doyoung: then why was she on the white team from the start?

haechan, half jokingly: because taeyong-hyung has legal rights to her. we can’t question that.

cue taeyong smugly looking at team blue.

yanna: don’t get upset, we’re not playing yet.

hearing the message from lsm didn’t phase yanna, even bowing on her knees for their “principal”.

she mc-ed with the two as the teams made their chants, and even joined in when jungwoo started singing “back 2 u”.

literally belting “iREOJI MA HEUNDEULJI MA” out of nowhere.

raise the rope

as the first game was about to start, jaehyun and yuta played to decide which team yanna would play with. jaehyun won and decided to include her in the blue team, making her jump on sungchan’s back as soon as she was pulled to their side.

“i’m sleepy” she immediately claimed, making sungchan turn to her with a laugh.

jaehyun: i’m kind of regretting letting you into our team.

“regret it quieter, hyung.”

no because they’re having this conversation while the white team are getting ready for their turn.

“booooooo!”, she literally yells out at chenle. to which he replied to with a loud “friendship over”.

while the white team had their turn, haechan walked over to her and shared the mic—letting the girl mc the team’s turn.

“okay, go away. it’s our turn!”

but then they messed up…

“one more time!”, she almost kneeled towards the white team if renjun didn’t literally pull her up the grass.

as they had their second chance, her squeals filled renjun’s ears with every jump. even the white team found it funny and made jokes about how unfortunate the boy was to be in front of her.

“i heard that!”

but who cares, they won anyway and she immediately flashed her tongue at yuta who could only laugh.

cherry ball

“cherry? [ aggressively dribbles the ball ] ball!”, basically mocking mark in their cherry bomb mv behind the scenes. and he gets it too, literally pointing at the girl in annoyance.

jungwoo and haechan played RPS to decide which team yanna will join, which the older one won.

mark: no, go back. bye!

hug attacks mark and clings to him in the hopes of forgiveness, which of course works.

no because she was about to pick her partner but haechan said she’d be playing with two others and they all discussed how the position will be before everyone agreed.

basically yanna will be protected by two people and will be on the utmost back. she ends up on taeyong and shotaro’s team, which she liked a lot and ran up to them with a smile.

taeyong and doyoung’s “confrontation time” left yanna cackling as she hung her arms around mark and chenle. she loves it.

the whole game, she grabbed on shotaro’s shirt and would avoid the ball as much as possible.

“taro’s too cute”, “why are you so cute?” and “cute~” literally leaving her mouth everytime 2 minutes.

when renjun’s team accidentally hit him with the ball instead, she jokingly let go of taro and pointed at them.

“yah.”

starts noticing the game, the pairing and her members were all cute and just giggles at all of them. she eventually gets tired and accidentally taunts the blue team saying “why can’t you hit me?”

no because she keeps giggling and laughing at renjun yet when the round was over, the camera panned to her giving him water and asking if he was alright.

she refused to play in the second round, choosing to hang with the MCs instead but her cheers were active for the white team.

she sat on the platform while haechan and jungwoo asked the teams which players wanted to take a break and immediately clapped when she learned that both renjun and jaemin will be mc-ing beside her.

“you don’t have to talk, just sit here.” she told the two, immediately earning complaints from haechan who was getting ready to play.

jaemin not talking at all was not a surprise to her so she asked him if she should mc for him instead and he literally passed her the mic. renjun sitting there literally chuckling at them.

“slenderman finds a target”, literally talking about sungchan aiming for whoever to hit the ball with.

she passes the mic to jaemin when updating the teams on the remaining time.

literally stands there disappointed when the teams started fighting for the ball(or team blue pulling doyoung so he could successfully steal the ball from taeyong while shotaro pulls him…). the comment section saying she probably realized they’re all still boys at the end of the day.

jaemin: you’ve disappointed yanna, everyone.

renjun: she’s never been this quiet today.

all jokes, though.

yanna literally grabbing herself a slushie while they announced that team white won aka her team. she then walks over to the members and started saying they did well.

⋆ ┊the manager ep. 207┊⋆

(a/n): italicized text are the clips being played. if you’re unfamiliar with the show, they show clips of the manager and artist’s life for a day while also being in a studio where hosts and the guests(artists) talk about what is being shown in the clips. and occasionally the managers would be asked about their artist by the staffs which they answer in like an interview setting. so when i add those questions to the manager parts, they’re in a different setting as the rest of the clips. i hope that made sense.

yanna smiled and clapped after being introduced as “the girl that stole every generation’s heart with her charm!”. winter and karina bowed to her, to which she immediately motioned for them not to do. “ah, this is embarrassing.”

the hosts first talked about aespa, while yanna listened in and nodded at the conversation. her smile widened as winter mentioned her, saying she felt honored being in the same table as her since she couldn’t do that in other circumstances. the two confirmed that yanna is indeed an idol of theirs and she could only shake her head.

“it’s your first time going solo, isn’t it?” she was asked, to which she nodded immediately. “it’s my first time away from my members, ang promoting all alone. so it’s new, but i think i’m doing well. and, they’re always checking up on me anyways so it’s not really that different.” the girl explained, glancing at the two who were focused on her. “please stop looking at me.” she jokingly told the two as she chuckled, placing a hand on winter’s arm.

they started watching aespa’s dorm life, the place surprising her a bit and making her turn to winter. “ah, they gave you this one.” she mumbled almost incoherent but the hosts pointed it out and asked why that was her reaction. “i’ve been there, when someone else was… i think i should stop talking”, she replied. but in her head, she was already wondering if renovations were made to the house wayv used to stay in.

multiple times, she would mumble about how cute the members are and basically smiling everytime ningning was on the screen. she would also nod at how the managers took care of the group and clapped when she found something funny.

the intro clip played for yanna and her eyes widened as clips from the group debuted appeared to show her growth through the years. she leaned on the table and covered her face with one hand, embarrassed as it continued playing. it also included a clip from her first performance for “red lipstick”, making the studio cheer when she kissed the camera.

“how many years have you had your manager?” one of the hosts asked. she counted in her head before replying a quick “almost two, from what i remember.”

“my manager started taking care of me during 2020, i had a huge health problem back then and they figured i had to have someone who knows my struggles. she’s been part of our staff but she got promoted as a personal manager of mine because she would always help me take care of myself when she’s around.” she explained thoroughly with a smile, adoring her manager who was named “in-ah”.

the camera showed yanna’s sleeping figure, as well as a dog’s tail wagging. she sleepily stretched, alarming the puppy who ran towards her face immediately a licked her nose. “ah!” she exclaimed sleepily, laughing at her pet’s antics. “stop, noran-ah. are you that hyper?”, to which the pup replied to with small hops on her pillow.

sitting up, she noticed the camera and laughed a bit. “for a second, i got confused thinking you’re from ‘i live alone’”, she mumbled towards the staff before waving at the cameras and standing up to fix her bed. she paused for a while, turning towards them asking “who let you in?”.

“it wasn’t you who let them in?” the hosts asked her, making her shake her head. “i was asleep, i thought that time maybe i just forgot about letting them in but it really wasn’t me.”

the clip then showed the staff fixing the cameras in her home, getting a glimpse of taeyong checking yanna’s things and even refilling food for noran who was busy staring at all the equipments inside their home. the crew apologized, not expecting someone else to let them in while taeyong could only say “ah, it’s alright. she asked me to call her so she could welcome you this early but i also had to check on her, so it was just good timing. that way, we don’t have to wake her up too early.”

“taeyong takes care of her well. he tells me things i should watch when it comes to her.” her manager said. “he had to leave for a tour that day, so i guess he was worried about yanna since he’ll be busy.” she continued when asked why he didn’t wait for the girl to wake up.

“ah, taeyong-hyung let you in.” she mumbled as the staff replied, looking over to noran’s bowl being filled with food. after fixing her bed, she immediately walked over to her calendar and mumbled a small “track video”.

she then decided to walk to her kitchen, noticing breakfast on her counter already with a small note from taeyong. she touched the glass and complained about the smoothie being warm, asking the staff what time he left.

while eating her breakfast, she turned her speakers on and “never goodbye” played. she laughed before saying that the viewers should support their album and then support her solo.

clips of her manager’s life then played, showing her getting up in the morning and getting ready to run errands for her before joining her on her schedule.

munching on her sandwich, yanna received a call from her manager to which she answered on loudspeaker. “unnie, where are you?” she asked immediately, feeding noran a piece of bread. in-ah replied that she was on her way to a grocery to buy stuff, making yanna let out a sound of confusion. “for you? won’t that get bad in your car?” she asked, looking at the time. “no, taeyong sent me a grocery list for your stock. i was going to ask if you needed something else.” her manager replied, making her look at the camera while laughing. “i have no stock already? really?” she asked, still laughing a checking her refrigerator which was almost empty.

the two talked some more, before her manager said that she won’t buy her chocolates this time but only lollipops for her upcoming schedules. “why aren’t you buying me chocolates?” she asked her, drinking her smoothie right after. “you said you wanted to show off and sing live on performances!” her manager replied, making her snort and hide her face in her arms before ending the call hurriedly.

the hosts laughed and started calling her cute, as her juniors clapped at the whole scene.

she cleared her throat and couldn’t look at the cameras for a while, embarrassed at what her manager revealed. her hands landed on her cheeks, feeling it turn red as she sighed and fanned herself. she looked around the room, finding something else to do after finishing her food. “ah, should we wake him up?” she mumbled, filling the screen with question marks.

“renjun?” youngja immediately asked, making the other hosts exclaim and ask the same thing. she could only laugh as they continued teasing her.

entering a spare room, yanna turned the lights on to reveal a sleeping renjun.

the hosts exclaimed while winter and karina were only surprised that it was actually him. “now it makes more sense why taeyong checked on you”, hyun moo joked.

yanna stayed on the doorframe, quietly yelling out “injunie, wake up”. before she could even repeat her words, noran already ran up the bed and started licking on his face. the boy groaned before pulling noran into his arms, making yanna smile as the captions said “young love”.

“do you allow yanna to talk about her relationship, as her manager?”, the staff asked in-ah. “honestly, it’s fine. but it’s the two of them who choose to be private. the company doesn’t restrict them as much because they seem to really know their limitations, so there’s no problem with it.” she replied, seeming proud of how the girl handles all these at a young age.

“do you feel like you have to hide it to the world as an idol?” se-hyung asked yanna on a serious tone, making everyone turn their gaze towards her. “honestly, it’s not that i’m hiding it. since it’s already announced, there’s really nothing to hide. i just prefer not showing it to people because knowing it is already enough information to give about the two of us. the fans know a lot of things about us, we share almost everything with them. but with this, i feel like there should be a limit as to how much we should share about the relationship we built together. it’s honestly a way to respect each other, as well as our other members who work with us everyday” she explained thoroughly.

“i’m bored”, yanna reasoned out to renjun when the boy greeted her a good morning. his face scrunched up at her answer, making the girl laugh before pointing at a camera. “greet them a good morning too”, she motioned towards it. renjun obliged immediately, chuckling before giving noran a kiss and letting her go to run outside the room.

“what’s your schedule for later?” the boy asked as he walked towards the kitchen, following yanna. she took out one of her lemonade packs and grabbed a few cubes to put in a glass, making the boy a drink. “… we have the same schedule.” she mumbled, stopping her mixing to look at the other who avoided her gaze and covered his mouth to suppress his laugh.

“he’s messing with her, he must find it cute when you’re annoyed.” youngja commented, smiling lovingly at the clip to which yanna could only agree with.

“of course i know, the track video. how could i forget?” he said, not wanting the girl to actually get upset. “your face won’t be shown, but with your hair it’ll be obvious.” she commented, remembering the concept of the track video to be filmed.

she quietly made him a sandwich as renjun talked her ears off about something he saw recently, she would reply with interest and even sat in front of the other right after the sandwich was made.

“taeyong takes care of her and then she ends up taking care of someone else. he must be feeling bad.” one of the hosts joked, making yanna laugh as well.

her manager called her up to announce she arrived downstairs and the two immediately helped her take the groceries to yanna’s unit. and once done, she instructed her to shower and for renjun to get ready as well.

“what’s one of yanna’s problems when getting ready?” her manager was asked, which led to her laughing. “she takes showers quickly, but choosing an outfit always takes her long. she considers a lot of things even when it’s just an outfit on the way to somewhere where she’ll be given a different outfit anyway”, she replied.

renjun and her manager are both already waiting on the couch as she struggled in her room, the two literally hearing her walk up to her mirror a bunch of times. “just wear a hoodie, it’ll get stained anyways because you’ll have glittery make up later”, renjun suggested from outside the room. she didn’t respond at all, but came out with a black hoodie on and shorts.

“who’s better at handling yanna? you or her members?”, the manager was asked. “them. they know her best, since it’s been so long since she met them. but when it comes to her health, she’s sometimes too shy to tell them. she’s afraid they’ll feel bad and worry too much or that it’ll affect the group in a way”, she answered with ease.

on the car on the way to the studio, yanna practiced the song so she won’t waste too much of the staff’s time and forget the lyrics. she even did some gestures, asking renjun and in-ah if they were fine. also occasionally asking noran to which the pup would bark softly at.

as they arrived at the venue, the staff started their make up on yanna while her manager started talking to the other staff to discuss the track video sequences. checking all the drinks and props to make sure nothing was about to go wrong for the girl, and even making sure yanna wasn’t allergic to anything in the area.

her manager heard the girl yelping inside the dressing room, making her run towards the room only to see yanna clutching her eyes shut. “contacts”, renjun said to enlighten the girl’s manager on the situation.

the hosts laughed, as winter and karina nodded in understanding. “i really hate contact lens”, yanna commented about the incident and even emphasizing “really”.

standing up, her manager helped her with her outfit. “ah, so heavy”, she jokingly complained about the chains hanging on her neck and waist.

before they started filming, the director gave yanna suggestions on what to do for each line and asking for her opinion as well.

“i can’t see.” she mumbled a bit, looking at the bright lights inside the studio.

“in the bridge, this is the scene with renjun. sing anywhere near him, since it’s him you’re singing to”, the staff suggested. she nodded, causing the rest of the staff to cheer for the two. “what the..” she mumbled with a laugh.

“everyone’s supportive.” hyun moo commented, finding it somehow new to see.

while filming was going on, in-ah would often check on the camera angles and ask yanna if she was alright during breaks. she even gave her a heart shaped lollipop, saying she could use it on the video while also helping her health.

her scenes with renjun were often filled with cheers and teasing from the staff, making her become less serious and it helped her be able to actually act drunk for the video. since the title was “abittipsy”.

after the filming, yanna asked if she could review the clips quickly and her manager joined her.

“what’s one of the things you feel like yanna should work on?” her manager was asked. “she’s too critical of herself”, in-ah answered immediately. “solo stuff or as a group, she monitors herself in a harsher way than her members do. i understand where she’s coming from, i know she thinks she has to do well all the time. but sometimes, she’s already doing so well yet she can’t accept that. she thinks she’s still lacking a lot despite doing great and sometimes, i feel like we’re at fault. that’s one of the things i can never help her with”, she explained further.

going home from filming, yanna asked her manager where she wanted to eat. she suggested a place nearby that sold delicious beef and the two agreed to go there for dinner since it was getting dark.

as the three were eating, her manager stared at the two while renjun cut up yanna’s serving of beef.

the hosts then mumbled that she was probably envious but yanna mumbled a quick “no, this was actually really funny.”

“me too, renjun-ah.” her manager quickly said, pointing at her plate. yanna laughed at the manner, grabbing her water to calm herself down but only doubling her laughter when renjun pretended not to hear in-ah.

the three continued eating while talking about noran and how she would look once they pick her up from the grooming shop.

“unnie, can i order bingsu?” yanna asked, looking at the dessert menu. renjun quietly laughed at the question, waiting for her answer while looking at the menu himself. “you can.”, her manager answered. “but remove the shaved ice”, she added.

in the end, they still ate ice cream but it was shared between the couple while in-ah had her own. while the two were quietly enjoying the dessert, she casually brought up her upcoming wedding and how she really wants yanna and renjun to sing during her special day.

the hosts were suprised and congratuled in-ah, while yanna could only clap. “she was only upset because her fiancé wasn’t there”, she joked.

“what do you want us to sing?” she asked her manager curiously. as soon as the answer escaped her mouth, yanna nodded for the both of them. “okay, we’ll sing it for you”, she mumbled with her mouth full of ice cream. “how much is the pay?” renjun then asked jokingly, making the two laugh before the clip finally ended.

the hosts commented on yanna’s relationship with her manager and asked her about things she wants to tell her but has had no chance to.

“well, firstly, you’re a great manager. you’re more of like a big sister to me and i needed that for so long ever since i debuted in my group. i know that there are things we only share amongst each pther and i’m grateful i have you for that. i wish you won’t get tired of me and i’ll be willing to listen to your problems as well in the future, so you won’t get sick of only taking care of me all of the time.”

the episode ended on a light note, with the hosts thanking them and their managers for taking care of each other well and wishing them a good relationship for the rest of it.
