lottie had always been the first to admit that luck had a funny way of finding her—whether it was stumbling into the right place at the right time or just barely dodging a mess she might’ve caused. some might say it was LUCK, but lottie wasn’t so sure. she liked to think someone, somewhere, was looking out for her. whatever it was, it worked. that’s how she ended up at the arcade with her friends, despite being more of a casual observer than an enthusiastic participant. they’d split up, eager to see who could rack up the most tickets by the end of the day. the usual banter echoed through the neon-lit room, the sounds of clinking tokens and digital beeps filling the air. but lottie? she wasn’t in it for the tickets—at least, not at first. her eyes scanned the row of machines before landing on a familiar sight. a nostalgic wave washed over her, and without thinking, she drifted toward the pac-man game, pulling the stool out with a soft scrape. she hadn’t played in years—back when she and her dad would spend hours on it, bonding over high scores and trying to beat each other’s records. her friends had been off on other machines, lost in their own games, and hadn’t seen what was happening. but lottie wasn’t about to let this go unnoticed. the screen flashed—new high score. charlotte laughed, brows furrowing. “what the fuck?” a small grin spread across her lips as nell approached. “oh, it’s definitely not me... i think somehow i lucked out, if i’m being honest.”
location: highwater arcade @ 13:33. status: open ( capping at five , 1/5 ).
national retro video game fell upon international women's day , and nell was an overly excitable ball of energy as she headed towards the token counter. special sound effects became background noise , and she didn't know where to look as she struggled to decide where to begin first. heart skipped a few beats as she passed the dance revolution corner , and steps slowed as she watched two teens compete against one another with the same passion she once held. pulling herself away , she stopped at the pac - man console and waited her turn. eyes became wide at the person's score , and she couldn't help but utter how impressed she was. " damn — i don't think i've ever seen someone slay that as hard as you have , and you're not even done. "

location: pearl's bistro starter for: OPEN charlotte sat at the bistro, her not-so-fresh manicure tapping absentmindedly on the table, the rhythmic sound barely noticeable against the hum of the busy atmosphere. her eyes skimmed the screen in front of her, the words of her next article blurring together. her once-steaming meal sat untouched, now cold and unappetizing, a reminder of how little it could do to shake off the jet lag that clung to her like a second skin. the lively chatter around her faded into a distant b u z z as she tried to focus, but her mind kept drifting back to the sights and sounds of paris—the effortless wave of inspiration that had flowed so freely then. lottie sighed, willing the words to come, but they wouldn’t. her fingers hovered above the keys, but nothing felt right. just like fate, a familiar face slowly came into view, inching closer through the haze of her distracted thoughts. lottie blinked, her attention snapping back to the present. “just like my guardian angel to look out for me and send the perfect distraction. looks like i'm done with work for the day.” she hums, grin spreading across her lips as she gestures to the chair across from her.

[ … ] ❀ you’re not from around here , are you? i figured because you totally just missed { charlotte james } walking by. don’t tell me you don’t know who { she/her } is/are ? they kind of look like { havana rose liu } and i could be wrong but i think that they might be { twenty six } years old right now. they’ve been living in palmview for the last { twenty years }. and i don’t know if anyone has ever told them this before but they kind of remind me of { alexis rose } from { schitts creek }. if you stick around the town long enough you might catch them in action working at { - } as a { fashion journalist }. you see this town isn’t really that big of a place, some folks like to call them the { melodramatic } of palmview! they took a liking to the name too after a while, go figure. oh crap, they must have heard me yapping. they’re coming this way. i got to warn you though, rumor has it they can pretty { self-involved } at times. i wouldn’t take it too seriously though, from the times i’ve spoken to them they seemed pretty { spirited } to me. we see each other all the time since they live in that { two bedroom } apartment beside me over in { mango bay }. i better leave you to it. it was nice meeting you! { jules. 27. she/her. central. }
name: charlotte james nickname(s): charlie, lottie, char, cherry gender: cis-female pronouns: she/her age: twenty six dob: september 5 pob: cape cod, massachusetts orientation: bisexual
biography:
she has a close-knit family of four: her dad, a passionate lawyer; her mom, a force in the fashion industry; and her older sister, celeste, who charlie has always looked up to. the two sisters were inseparable growing up, often caught in mischievous adventures that had them exploring the town, sneaking into their mom’s closet, or plotting out new ways to get their crushes attention (including taking the sail boat out for a joyride). the james' sister bond was built on shared laughter and a love of adventure. even though the family moved away from the cape when charlie was six, they always made sure to return for vacations. cape cod is truly a place charlotte will always hold closely and will still escape to when needing a break.
lottie's mother, who was always involved in high-end fashion, was a big influence on her career. she would often take charlie to fashion events, where the glamour and excitement of the industry enamored her. charlotte would spend hours rifling through her mom’s luxury wardrobe and flipping through fashion magazines, dreaming of one day becoming a part of that world. the fashion scene, paired with her love for storytelling, led lottie to journalism at a young age, and by the time she was 18, she was already interning with major publications, learning from the best.
after college, where she balanced her passion for fashion with a journalism degree, charlie's career took off. she worked with gq, elle, and vanity fair, eventually landing a position at vanity fair where she still thrives today, diving into the world of high fashion, celebrity culture, and everything in between.
personality:
she's goofy, spontaneous, and full of life, with an infectious energy that can light up any room. she loves fiercely and cares deeply about her friends, family, and work. she's not the most organized person, often losing track of time or misplacing her phone. she’s the kind of person who shows up with a smile, no matter what, and is almost always ready for an adventure.
her older sister, celeste, is still her best friend and confidante, and even though they’ve grown older, their mischievous dynamic hasn’t changed one bit, truly balancing each other out.
though she may have her moments of being a little clueless, charlie is 100% authentic. her passion, drive, and heart make her who she is.
connection ideas:
familial: cousins, aunts, uncles, etc..
platonic: best friend, childhood friends, acquaintances, mentor/mentee, sibling like friends, etc..
romantic: exes (ending on good or bad terms), fwb, crushes, childhood crush, etc..
other: similar work friends, someone who works alongside charlotte, open to anything!

rhodes glanced down to the pan in front of him before glancing at the other. pursing his lips, he let his gaze fall back down at the food on the pan. "well.. all i can say is lets not talk ourselves into thinking we can cook complicated dishes ever again.. bc its definitely not going to turn out like the cookbook pictures." he hummed, scraping the food with the spatula in his hand. "or at least i definitely can't be in charge.. think you can fix it or..?"

"wait, wait, wait.. of all the times you told me that being early is better... now it makes me a jerk ?" poppy chuckled softly, sitting up in her chair. she wasn't really expecting an invitation from kendrick and i guess if she really sat and thought about it, it wasn't a flat out invitation. "lucky for you, i don't have plans for new years.. or i guess now i do. so, new years eve at your place for a party not thrown by you ? and i dont have to bring something but if you did want something, what would you want me to bring ?"
“ so do you have plans for new year's ? because you need to cancel them, i'm throwing a party. ” it was an invitation of sorts if you squinted, even though kendrick said nothing along the lines of ‘you should come’. “ well, technically, i'm not throwing the party but it is at my place. so i basically am. and you're gonna be there. by ten. don't come too early, makes you a bit of a jerk. ” and he had considered having it start at eleven but realised that would make it so that the people who are always late ( himself included ) would likely show up at that time if he made it an hour earlier. “ no need to bring anything but feel free to if you want. ” / @palmviewstarters

theres a small roll of the eyes as rory plops the toilet paper down against the wall. "oh fuck, all is forgiven." he hums as he notices the food left on the coffee table. making sure to stand in front of the tv, as the token annoying cousin would, he grabs a few wings onto on of the plates set out for him. "listen, costco was running a sale and i thought why not stock up... and have extra definitely not to tp the inside of kenny's apartment."
@mcktub
bottle nods toward rory as he enters, julian's feet propped on the coffee table as his eyes remain fixated on the television. him and kenny have clearly gotten comfortable, pizza and wings open on the coffee table, just enough saved for when their cousin would inevitably show up. “we saved you some food,” finally looks toward rory, confusion painting his features at the stack of toilet paper he'd hauled in. while kenny had mentioned tp'ing someone's home, julian couldn't help the michevious smirk that preceeded his jab. “if we knew you were having a serious case of the shits, we would've made do with kenny's shitty tv, you should've told us !” @delightfms

the holidays had always been something poppy loved. the girl occupied herself with gift exchanges, parties, and dinners. new years eve was next and here the redhead was at yet another party. with a platter of cookies in her hand and a bottle of wine under her arm, she made her way into the kitchen, a soft laugh slipping past her lips as the other appeared. "no, i think im okay right now, but maybe i can give you a hand ?" she hums, placing each of the items she brought onto the counter. "how can i help ?"
open starter , ( @palmviewstarters ) ! location , a mutual friend's get together a few days before new years eve, 5:30pm.
it's not often she tries to be civil, but alas, maybe there's some christimas spirit still left her veins because olivia is everything but her usual self while helping out in a kitchen. mind you, she's a god awful cook, but she's trying with the turkey per request of her friend that's too busy playing a good host. there's a loud thud coming from the pantry when she drops a bag of flour just at the same time as she hears someone in the kitchen, putting on a strangely perky face as she emerges back. “ everything's going accordingly ! “ she starts with a lie, despite the fact she's already half - covered in flour to begin with. “ can i get you something ? “

rory trudged down the hallway, his arms practically giving out from the weight of the dozens of toilet paper packs stacked methodically in his hands. there was no doubt there had to be at least a little judgment from his neighbors as he passed their doors. finally making it to his own door, he kicked it open with his foot and rushed inside, relieved to be back, but clearly questioning why his two cousins were already inside. "which one of you assholes decided the party started before me ?? in my own home ??"
@astralfms @mcktub
#since i never responded to the other one for these idiots :'(#interactions: rory x kenny x julian#( an astroid with a human name ) / * roryfm .

location: cookie decorating station starter for: open @palmviewstarters
she didn't think she would enjoy the winter festival as much as she was. there was something about the way the air felt and the faint smell of gingerbread and sugar drifting through the neighborhood that quickly summoned her to the cookie decorating station. as poppy surveyed her options, she finally settled on a sugar cookie in the shape of a house and picked up the pink icing. the redhead took a seat and slightly turned to look at the person next to her. "pretty sure i've got to make this one extra special—think i should go full-on glitter or keep it simple?" she raised an eyebrow playfully, already squeezing a bit of pink icing onto the cookie. "it’s a big decision... so no pressure."
