hello tumblr metalhead. in front of you are 20+ metal subgenres that are not metalcore, deathcore, nu metal or rap metal. your challenge today is to listen to any of those subgenres without the "it's just noise" complaint. you are also challenged not to brag about slipknot or korn being the heaviest shit you have ever heard. you may begin listening now, and don't try complaining about gatekeepers scaring you.

Theres this smaller thrash band called Void from Lafayette, LA that I’ve recently become hyperfixated on. They’re very old school thrash inspired with a lyrical motif for typical spooky horror. They’re very 80s inspired from their sound to their look!
Last month, they wrapped up their Haunted Madness Tour with Labyrinth (whos from Houston, TX). I was luck enough to see them live while they were touring, and let me say: that was the best night of my summer! It was my first ever thrash metal show too and it did not disappoint! I think that was the hardest I’d ever headbanged in my 20 years on this earth. My neck was sore for almost three days… geez.
I got some of their merch too, a CD of their debut album Horrors of Reality and a shirt exclusive to the tour. I also managed to get one of the setlists! (The band had handed them to the audience after their set, I swear I did not steal it).
Since that show, my adoration for Void has sky rocketed. They’ve landed themselves in my top 5 favorite bands and I don’t think they’re gonna budge from that spot for awhile.
I’m likely to ramble about them more in the future, mostly focusing on their current album and whatever music or demos they put out in the future. I’m excited to share more >:]
