Cormag nodded and released Genarog’s reigns, “Valentia… Foreign.” He muttered and Genarog looked to him and huffed out a breath. “Supposed we traveled a bit too far buddy, sorry.”
Genarog waddled around the town, already making himself at home and seeing if a few people would pet him. He was like a giant scaly puppy sometimes. Cormag looked to the lavender haired man, “My name is Cormag, that’s Genarog. It’s a pleasure to meet y’all.” He held out his hand, the man i front of him looked like if Cormag touched him he may break.
“Can you tell me more about this place as well too?”
Leon laughed lightly as he watched the wyvern. It was fascinating. Pegasi were semi-common, sure. But wyverns were a mystery. He turned back to Cormag and looked him up and down.
Satisfied with what he saw (and maybe hovering his gaze on those biceps a bit) he smiled. “Leon.” The archer shook Cormag’s hand, relishing a bit in the feeling of the man’s strength.

“Ah. I thank you for that honor.” Leon responded sarcastically. He did have a bit of respect for Berkut, which was the only reason he hadn’t left him to the mob. “When you live in a small town, there’s no such thing as anonymity unless you don’t live there or don’t visit often.”
He swung his legs a bit and sat back. “Honestly, if it weren’t for the war, I can assure you that smaller towns would have no idea who you are. There are plenty of towns that royalty don’t visit, so the people living there won’t recognize your face.”
The former archer hopped down from the counter and headed towards the door. “I can’t tell you about your reputation elsewhere, but I can lead you out of town while the mob has dispersed. People should at least leave you alone, then.”
delphiniumarcher:
Leon snorted. “At least I’m not boring. And odd isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever been called. So thank you for the compliment.” He hopped back up onto the counter and crossed his legs. He then leaned forward and propped his elbow up on his knee, resting his chin in his hand.
He watched Berkut go through the items he had bought for him, quietly humming to himself a little bit. Berkut was handsome, he had to admit. Definitely someone he didn’t mind having in his shop.
He broke out of his slight daydream when Berkut addressed him again. “Ah. My name is Leon. I can’t believe I’ve been so rude as to not introduce myself before this. But, then again, neither did you.” He tapped his chin with a finger. “Though I suppose you have no need for introductions. Everyone knows who you are, hun.”
Leon’s words elicited an amused snort from Berkut, and a rare smile, albeit a small one.
“Fine. Call it what you will.” That level of optimism was as contagious as it was perplexing; he would need to take his leave of the merchant before it had a chance to infect his own mindset. It wouldn’t suit in him to go around assuming the best in everyone. In fact, with his history, it would likely get him killed.
Still, the merchant’s - Leon’s - presence had begun to grow on him, and as Berkut looked up from the collected items, he noticed Leon staring at him.
“I don’t ordinarily ask the name of every shopkeep I meet,” he said. “But I’ll give you the honor of remembering yours. As a thank-you.” A thoughtful pause. “I never thought I’d be envious of a commoner’s anonymity.”
As Leon had said, everyone knew him, even when he tried to hide anything that would be a clue to his identity. He turned back to packing away the items into the bag.
“I pray that my reputation has not preceded me in other lands.”

Cormag had spotted a young man with lavender hair, he looked familiar with the area. But as he looked around, there were no signs of pegasi or wyverns. Was he not in Frelia or Grado? Was he even in Magvel?
Not being familiar with the area, Genarog was excited about the new area and the new people of course. But it seemed like no on here was used to such a playful wyvern. He tried to calm the wyvern down but he continued making a fuss, and caused to drive someone away from the lavender haired man. Cormag sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“I’m sorry sir, we ain’t from around here I’m afriad. We were flyin an’ the storm caught us.Sorry about scarin ya people, I promise he ain’t a monster though. He’s harmless and jus’ wants to play with y’all.” Cormag rubbed the back of his head and tugged on Genarogs reigns some to get him to calm down. “Mind me askin where we are? I really truly don’t recognize the place.”
Leon watched the wyvern played around with a small smile on his face. It wasn’t a bad thing to see the creature so excited. But it wasn’t as if wyverns were common around here. Actually, Leon was pretty sure he had only heard stories from other continents.
“It’s fine. You’re in Valentia, a couple of days travel south away from Zofia Harbor.” He stepped forward to meet the two with a chuckle. “I don’t doubt he isn’t a monster. I wouldn’t think he’d be travelling with you if he were.”

Leon was out and about wandering between a couple of villages for a bit. Leaving his store closed for the time being to find some new things to sell, and maybe to meet some new people. Sure he loved his regulars, but sometimes he needed to see other faces during the day.
He had just finished checking out a small store when there was some sort of exclamation from the edge of the village. Bidding goodbye to the owner of the shop, he headed out, going to see what the fuss was all about.
Upon reaching the villager that had called out, he spotted a man with a wyvern stepping closer. “Ah...Seems as if you all have another visitor today.” Waving the villager away, he stepped forward a bit to meet the newcomer. “Hey there! I think you and your wyvern there gave a couple of people a bit of a fright!”

Cormag held onto Genarog’s reigns and tugged on them to have them land. Previously a desert storm had swept them up and they had no idea to where they were. But when Cormag spotted land, he halted Genarog as fast as possible. They landed safely and Cormag hopped off, gently petting the wyverns head. “It’s fine buddy, I can find us a way out..” He muttered and started walking, the border from sand to grass. The grass was nicer on them. That meant they could see.
That meant he could find someone to help them out where they were going. Genarog stayed close behind Cormag, and Cormag looked past a treeline to see a small village. Maybe they would have answers to where they were and how they could get back home. Or at least somewhere familiar. Taking the trip after the Magvelian war was hard on them both and they just wanted to relax. Not get caught up in a desert storm.

Returning with authorities - or even simply with the small mob that passed through earlier - would have been rude, perhaps, but Berkut realized that he would have done exactly that had he caught Leon in his own place of business. On any other day, he would have been quick to defend that as cautiousness or prudence, but now he benefitted from a man who exercised neither of those things.
The sudden familiarity caught him off guard as well. Hun? Berkut gave the shopkeep a startled look, then narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing him as he returned to the counter.
“You’re an odd one,” he said finally. “But I accept your generosity.”
The advice on how to properly navigate the market, however, went unacknowledged. When would he have any need to barter? And why was the lower class so unscrupulous that they could not price their wares fairly and uniformly?
Silently, he set to rummaging through the collected items - rations, cloth, a waterskin, even a new canvas bag - and found that his benefactor had been thorough with his shopping. A thought stopped his hand.
“You haven’t yet given me your name,” Berkut said, deliberately disinterested, but almost accusatory. Even if they had clashed in battle during the war, he knew the names of only the most famous, well-celebrated Zofians. The name of a merchant, formerly an archer, would never have reached him.
Leon snorted. “At least I’m not boring. And odd isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever been called. So thank you for the compliment.” He hopped back up onto the counter and crossed his legs. He then leaned forward and propped his elbow up on his knee, resting his chin in his hand.

Astounded by the shopkeep’s generosity, Berkut could merely nod his agreement. In the silence that followed the shut of the door, the lock slid into place, and he was left alone in a stranger’s store. In Zofia. The man had an extraordinary amount of trust, and Berkut tried for a moment to imagine what life would be like without constant suspicion of one’s neighbor.
He couldn’t, and instead wondered if Leon was out fetching authorities to apprehend him.
- - -
By the time the shopkeep returned, Berkut had gone through over half the shelves of merchandise - deliberately slow - and threw a disinterested look over his shoulder as the front door swung open. His eyes glanced from Leon to the empty space behind him.
“Oh, you came back alone.” He supposed that was in-line with the shocking amount of altruism Leon had displayed that afternoon, and returned to its box the wooden comb he had been examining.
“You hadn’t any trouble finding what I need, I assume.”
Leon gathered up the things Berkut needed rather quickly. He knew the shops in the area well and had no trouble bartering for things that were a little overpriced. He was asked several times if he was going off on an adventure, if he’d been contacted and needed to leave but brushed it off with a laugh and a story about sending a package to Valbar.
He returned to his own shop and popped open the lock, kicking the door shut behind him and setting the bag of goods he had purchased on his counter. “You thought I was going to bring someone back with me? Now wouldn’t that be rude!” His voice found its usual joking manner and he waved off the next question.
“Yes, yes, I did, hun. At a lower price than you certainly would have gotten as well. Know this for when you end up wherever you’re headed to next. Bartering is a man’s greatest skill. And those hens in market places will try to squeeze out every cent from you so be on your guard.”

💝How long until they feel secure and comfortable in a relationship? Leon is a very secure person so it doesn’t take long for him to get comfortable in a relationship. He may seem spacey and flighty but he is extremely loyal and once he’s connected to a person, he is comfortable around them.
❌Would they ever cheat on their partner? Never in his life would he even think about cheating on his partner. If they wanted to discuss an open relationship or a poly-amorous relationship, he’d be open to that, but he wouldn’t cheat on his partner.

🎶Do they have a type?
OH YEAH HE HAS A TYPE. His type is patient and generally cheerful. In his supports with Kamui he says his ideal man is kind, strong, and mature while maintaining boyish innocence. Along with being a good listener but being able to be honest and tell the hard truth when needed. He doesn’t have a physical type really.
🚀 How far are they willing to go for the person they love? SO FRIGGIN FAR. Leon will go to whatever lengths he has to for the man he loves. He joined the army and nearly died for his first love then preceded to follow Valbar around into deadly battles against crazy dragon gods because he loved him so much. He will go to great lengths for the person he loves.

💍Would they ever get married? He sure would like to. He hasn’t found the right man yet (Valbar doesn’t count because he knows its an unrequited thing ok) but he would like to get married at some point. He has his wedding all planned out down to the color scheme and the types of flowers they would have. These plans may or may not change depending on who he marries.

🤐Would they ever confess their feelings first?
Leon is very quick to confess his feelings. He definitely confesses first and will take whatever answer he gets with grace. He doesn’t believe in hiding his feelings and will tell someone he’s attracted to that he’s attracted to them often enough unless it makes them uncomfortable. He is not a shy man.

“Oh. It’s no trouble. I was hardly doing any work anyway.” Leon straightened and looked at the small mess behind the customer and shrugged. It wasn’t a big deal, easy enough to clean up. And her said as such. “I’ll get it later. We haven’t exactly been busy today so it gives me something to do.”
The archer straightened and dipped below the counter quickly to grab a broom and something to clean up any liquids with. Then he made his way around the counter to the mess. “Thank you.” He flipped a lock of hair over his shoulder when the customer complimented his make up.
“I do it myself, yes. I could hardly trust anyone else with my beautiful face. Do you have an interest in make up?”
@mysterystrategist
Leon was perched on the counter in his shop. Leafing through a handful of stocking papers and double checking his budget for the week. And maybe looking every so often over the last letter he got from Valbar.
He was so distracted he hadn’t noticed someone walk into the store until he was approached and the customer had cleared his throat. He blinked and looked over his shoulder, lowering his papers.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” He hopped down off the counter and set his papers aside. “How can I help you, lovely? We sell a good variety of items, if you’d like to look around or if you’re looking for something more specific I can look upstairs for you.” He leaned forward on the counter, his chin resting in his hand and a small smile on his face.

“Priestess? If you were traveling with a holy woman? What brings you so far north?“
Kliff yelps quietly when Leon pulls him down to dodge another spell. He stumbled, splashing mud and swamp water all over both of them as he tried to regain his footing. He spat out a mouthful of swamp mud and aimed another spell at the Witch, but missed. Kliff cursed, sidestepping again.
“Wait, Celica? Why’s Celica here? Was she also supposed to slay Duma, or is there she’s planning on doing?“
Leon righted himself and shook the swamp water out of his hair, groaning a bit. “Disgusting. I’ll have to wash my hair so many times to be clean again! I need a full facial and manicure when we’re done here!” He was going to think on the positive that they would be alive when they were done here.
He loosed an arrow at another enemy and muttered under his breath when it missed. His wrist was aching badly and he just wanted to leave, dammit.
“Slaying Duma was the plan. Of course, we’ll see how well that goes.” He heard the laugh of a Witch behind him and sidestepped, letting out a quiet yelp when her bolt grazed his upper arm, burning through the cloth.

“Tell me about it,” Kliff mutters, bringing up his arm to try (and fail) and shield himself from a Witch’s spell. He hisses as red hot pain lanced through his arm; he was sure there would be a severe burn there later or he didn’t get it looked at soon. “These Witches never end. Where the hell do they come from?”
One of the squids swam up, intent on ramming its head into Kliff to harm him. “Don’t push me!” He snarls, casting a spell that felled the Terror instantly.
“It’s been worse… I guess. I’d rather not me fighting, but I guess I signed onto this when I joined Alm in Ram.” He dodges another squid with a grunt. “What brings you here? I doubt you’re here for the fun times and battles.”
Leon cursed as some of his hair was singed by a Witch’s blast. “My hair!” He growled and shot off two arrows in succession. “I can only hope Priestess can finish this sooner rather than later.” He didn’t want to think about how well things were going for the others.
“Oh fun times, certainly. Battles, not so much.” The archer ducked out of the way, tugging Kliff down with him as another blast sailed over their heads. “I joined Celica’s group a while back and here I am. I don’t necessarily want to be here but my beloved Valbar wanted to assist so here I am.”
