       for some reason, as vast and unique as this place and it’s residents happened to be, taaffeite...hadn’t been expecting to see another gem. they’d gotten so caught up in the overwhelming newness of anything, that they hadn’t thought they’d find something so familiar at all. 

       sapphires were gems they had seen a few times, but had - of course - never spoken with. technically, if this were homeworld or any of its’ colonies, they may have outranked a sapphire. but in their alarm, they jumped to attention anyway, immediately dropping the booklet they had been given out of fear of doing...well, un-taaffeite things. it was almost comical how the much larger gem panicked so drastically over her mere appearance.

      “ um...hello, your clarity? no - that’s - that wasn’t a question. hello! ” they already began to ramble nervously, struggling to avoid fidgeting.

TAAFFEITE - original steven universe character

- *slaps gem* this bad boy can fit so much anxiety in it

- they don't know what's going on and honestly that's valid. there's a whole bunch of stuff going on in their world

-meant to be a very rare, very high-ranking judge ( or worse ) gem, but they were always really, really bad at it

- you BETTER be nice to me, i WILL cry!

- messy but doesn't mean to be, they've been stuck on the moon alone for way too long

- if anyone introduces video games to them they will fall in love with it immediately

- at the moment they're just trying to figure out how to like, exist in general
