luminous-lady:
She reveled when he patted the top of her head, realizing how long it had been since she last saw him–it had been nearly a decade, and he still was one of the only two people to currently know her secret. Lux wondered why anyone would take the time to reanimate Galio now, or rather, reanimate him and then leave him be. Perhaps they felt sorry for the petricite statue, deep in slumber until summoned by magic to defend his kingdom. Then she questioned if he would become any bigger, since he could probably feel how her magic had improved over the past years.
“It’s good to see you too, friend. How long have you been…awake?” Luxanna asked, before raising a brow at his answer.
“Hmm, what did he look like?” Another mage roaming about Demacia, giving life to a giant colossus statue? Not very subtle. “I do not know whether or not to be happy for you or concerned.”
“Not long, I don’t think...” he replied, scratching the side of his petricite head as he attempted to get a good idea of how much time had passed. It was difficult- humans lived such tiny lives compared to him. Decades had passed in moments for him before, the earth changing without his notice as he waited for the next few minutes he would awaken.
“Well, he was...older. Some haired man in a blue cape. Didn’t give me his name, must have been in a hurry.” Unlike Lux, the colossus didn’t give much concern to what his intentions were to him. He was far too happy to be aware of the world around him to dwell on that.
“I don’t know why he chose to give me life....but I definitely prefer it!”

“Ah- no! Cake isn’t a plant… It’s something you can make. It’s a really sweet treat, kind of a similar texture as bread, but much sweeter. You can put a creamy substance called ‘Frosting’ on top and that makes it sweeter and offers a little more moisture. It’s really good!”
“Is it?” he had often seen human ‘eat things around him. Many Demacians had picnics in his shade during their pilgrimages to him. That was always his favorite time of the year- where he could see them happy and unharmed around him.
“I’m sure, but I don’t think they would be able to make a cake big enough for me” he chuckles as a joke, wondering what it’d be like to live on something other than magic. What happened to humans when they stopped eating? Did they turn to stone too?

“Oh. Sorry.” He realized that must have been rude to talk to him like that. He had no idea the thing could talk back- how incredible! He could feel almost nothing but pure magic emanating from him. “Aw, don’t be like that...I’m sure it’d be a great fight!” he gave an encouraging smile, hoping he’d change his mind eventually. He didn’t know much aside from fighting after all.
“Well I don’t know where’s he’s at, really.” he replied, giving a shrug of his massive shoulders “I don’t even remember which Jarvan we’re on now...”

“What is this- a crystal?” The living statue looked at the apparition in front of him with some unease, not quite sure what he was looking at. He had never seen the humans build such a thing before…but he could feel a bit of stronger glow within him as he approached it. “More magic? I wonder if it’s something to squish…”
He felt sad that his hands were puny in comparison to his normal colossal state.
Xerath stared at the living construct, albeit somewhat irritably. “I am Xerath, Grand Magus of Shurima. Stand aside, golem. I am not one you wish to pick a fight with.” He could tell that this creature was made of the same magic-absorbing stone as Demacia’s walls… It was rather oppressive, but that was the very reason he was here.
“I’ve come to speak with the king of this land.”

With great POWER comes great RESPONSIBILITY.
currently heavily Star Guardian-based Ezreal as loved & portrayed by Neith.                    (Loves to roleplay in canon too, by the way! SG-Hype is real, though!)

prodigal-ezreal:
Ezreal liked to think he was doing a good job of going under the radar (as much as someone with his looks could, anyways). No one had stared daggers at his back and the bag resting on his hip didn’t seem to draw anyone’s attention. Just a commoner as any other making his way around the city’s outskirts. That, until he heard someone call for him.
“Who are you calling—” His irritation was short lived as he turned around and saw a moving statue, over twice his height, excitedly advancing towards him. The design was unmistakable, even if text books described him as much larger (intimidation tactics, he supposed)–Galio, the same giant he took this very same route to avoid. Who did he think he was just running around and shouting he was a mage? He was gonna get him killed!
Ezreal stood frozen for a moment, looked right, looked left. And ran as fast as his legs could take him to the near-by forest.
He was quite used to mages running away from him- often times it was the first thing he’d wake up to before the spell that was on him now. He was so used to squishing them that it hadn’t quite occurred to him that any non-demacian one was not here for him to eliminate. Combat seemed to be the right route to advance, so he was confused when the man ran in the other direction. Uh-oh. That was definitely not part of the job he was supposed to be doing if he ran away without so much as telling Galio who he was.
“Wait! Human mage!” he called out, clearly not aware of the weight of those words in demacia- oblivious to the idea that other people didn’t find magic as wonderful as he did. He straightened out one wing, raising it high above his head with some effort, and then the next one. Even if he could not cover as much distance as he once could at this size, he could still use these!
With a great leap, the statue bounded into the air, using the wings to glide a short distance before crashing down into the forest- trying his best to land right in front of him.
“Small man person! Do not run!” he pleaded with him moments after landing, trying to make sure the impact hadn’t hurt him “We do not need to fight- we can sit and make conversation if you do not wish to hurt Demacia!”

He gives a smile that have surely shown more teeth, had he been sculpted with a such a thing in mind. What a nice, young lady. He liked the ones that didn’t run away loudly when he spoke. This made it much easier to make conversation like he had seen many humans do before at his feet. “I think the guy who made me was pretty good.” he nodded, clearly not aware of the mass effort it took for Demacia to make him in the first place.
He tilted his head as he listened to her, enjoying the company of a human who had things to saw to him that didn’t include ‘crush that’ or ‘kill that mage over there’ It was...nice. Something he hadn’t had since the small magic girl person had come to visit him. “Well I don’t know how life chose me, really” he replied, giving a shrug of his massive shoulders “But I definitely prefer it.”
His question confused him, somewhat- had this person not heard of his job? The giant had so long remained in the same place that his fate didn’t seem cruel to him. “I fight! I break things!” he told her excitedly “But most of the time I stay here- watching people do the same thing day after day...” Though he seemed somber for a moment, he shook it off just as quickly. “But the view’s great up here! I can see for miles!” slowly, he bent down to one of his knees to look at the stranger and extend his hand to the ground “Want to see?”
Tumblr media
“Better to be impressive, than disappointing.“ they spoke out with a gentle smile on their face. They’ve heard stories about how he came to be. Every person has a different story. Riven did not care, however, there was never enough time for them to admire this masterpiece.
They looked around the whole place and moved a bit closer “You know… it’s truly a miracle something… no, somebody like you came to be.” they exclaimed, her smile only growing softly. She has seen her fair share of creatures, that were only described as nightmare material, but this was truly a work of art. From the voice alone they adored him. Just made them more curious about how they came to be.
Tumblr media
“So tell me, what exactly do you do around here? You can’t surely be here just on display.” a soft giggle escaped their lips, and they looked up towards the giant. They tried to stay as calm as possible, after all, they never know what might happen if it reveals she’s a Noxian.

Headcanon: Magical Affliction
Despite being a monument to fight against magic, Galio obviously does not hold the same view that most Demacians do of being magically “afflicted”. It has always been such a wonderful thing to him in terms of bringing him life- and he fights it only to protect the people he sees running beneath him constantly. He is not  aware of Demcia’s prejudice towards magic users, as he was never awake long enough to ever be aware of politics. To him, mages represent two things: Something to squish, or a friend that he hopes will stay with him.

@lightbind
He felt the familiar glow within his core that he knew all too well- one that he had look forward to feeling year after year back when he spent more time slumbering than awake. It was easily recognizable, especially now that he was more sensitive to magic’s presence that ever at his shrunken size. He wondered if anyone had told her about the change, how Galio was now allowed to stay awake for much longer periods of time on a single spell now that he had been made only twelve feet tall. He would not have accepted it, had he not been told he could be revered back to his colossal size with a ritual, if need be. Maybe the humans were just in better need of constant protection from individual mages rather entire armies. That seemed to make sense to him.
“Young girl person!” the statue called out, jumping to his feet from his sitting position earlier, he waved his hand in the air- just in case he hadn’t yet seen her with how much smaller he know was. “It’s good to see you! We should do things together!” What, he didn’t quite know- what humans did all day besides fight was not something he was aware of. But he was sure she could figure it out!
