even if he wasnt a superboss, even if he didn't make the air crackle with freedom, even if he didn't have an awesome fight theme of his own... ramb is still a short freedom-based scrunkly to me and thats what matters. I'LL shed a tear for him....

The Knight exchange in Spamtons shop is so juicy because with what we know with the new chapters, it's pretty likely that Kris threatened him to not talk about the knight, maybe glaring at him or poking him in the chest or something. Nothing big like actually attacking, because infamously you cannot harm shopkeepers in their shop.
But spamton still freaks out anyway at such a small gesture. So much so that he drops all glitches to beg and plead.
I wonder if seeing him so scared of retribution, along with him being so destitute and removed from the world,
caused Kris to ask about his friends next.

It is true the Dark Sanctuaries do break a lot of seemingly-established patterns about Dark Worlds, most notably the idea of a ‘main’ Leader/Ruler Darkner who acts as the Chapter's main Boss. The Hammer of Justice is the closest thing we have to that, but he’s actually the Chapter’s Shadow Crystal Boss, a character archetype that’s usually antagonistic/rebellious to the ‘Ruler’ Darkner.
And this pattern-break has a lot of important narrative functions; demonstrating the ways that the stakes have been raised, undermining Susie’s hopes that things will just keep going like they did before, making the Dark Sanctuaries feel more deserted and melancholy…
But also, I think it’s noteworthy that while there isn’t a person who fills in that ‘Dark World Leader’ narrative role… there is a Thing that absolutely does. There is a Thing that is the overarching threat in the Dark Sanctuaries' plotline, a Thing that most of the other Darkners of that World follow and venerate, that sets the theme and tone of that World, that Gerson, as the Shadow Crystal Boss, rebel against, that is the final threat our Heroes face.
It’s just not a person, it’s the Prophecy itself that fulfills all of these roles.

“I wish I could be a boy” You can
“I wish I could penetrate but I don’t have a penis” There’s a surgery for that
“I want to piss standing up” The surgery does that too, but also have you heard of an STP device? You should look into those
“I like the effects testosterone could give me but what if people think I’m ugly after I start” would you rather be happy and ugly or beautiful and miserable
“I want to cut my hair short and look more like a guy but everyone is begging me to not cut my hair” bestie, it’s your hair and they can go fuck themselves
“I wish I was born a boy” The best time to plant a tree was ten years ago, the second best time is today
“I wish I was a boy” I have great news for you

Honestly, Toby Fox's friend was so real........ I literally finished Deltarune Chapters 3 + 4 a few hours ago and I'm constantly finding myself thinking "I miss Tenna....."

TV Guy with abandonment issues and themes of having to move on right before my finals and having to leave my university? More likely than I thought.
Seriously, seeing Tenna broken is sad, but I hope he felt loved when he was repaired.

so the mage ranking is basicaly just this?
I feel like you could easily swap Erin and Alinua in that ranking and be just as valid but now I'm very curious about the consensus
