Layer blend modes are common in a number of raster and vector based applications. PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketchbook Pro, Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer all include them. Color Dodge and Color Burn layer blend modes. They are similar to Multiply, but have some subtle differences. Watch as I briefly demonstrate how these layer blends work. The multiply blend mode is typically used to darken elements overlayed on top of another image. I'll take a closer look at what's happening when a layer is blended with multiply.
