HYPE! is a new bi-monthly bass party, dedicated to bringing Pittsburgh the best in modern bass music. Curated by myself, along with my brothers in the P.O.P. crew, HYPE! will exhibit the same quality control I employ in DJ sets and will bring the hard and heavy, as well as thoughtful, forward-thinking bass music. Drum n' bass, dubstep, future garage, hip hop, juke, footwork, UK bass, trap, and any other of the many splintering genres of modern bass will be heard at HYPE!
We kick off on 2/24 with two of North America's most respected DJ / Producers: Noah D and Mayhem. Both artists are at the top of their game right now and are in the midst of releasing some of their best material. Noah D will be coming through in support of his new full length LP "Perspective" forthcoming on the country's premier dubstep label, LA's SMOG Recordings. Mayhem's name is one of the most highly regarded amongst top tier DJs and he is also in the midst of supporting his first full length drum n' bass album "Into Oblivion" on his own Shadow Law Recordings. In addition to the drum n' bass LP, Mayhem has hip hop production on the FKi crew's latest mixtape "Transformers 'n the Hood," and has a dubstep EP, "First Blood" forthcoming on Dieselboy's Subhuman Recordings. These latest/ forthcoming releases from Mayhem adds to an amazing discography that includes releases on many of the top labels in the bass music scene including: Subtitles, Vision, Subway, Ram, Human / Subhuman, and Deceast. In addition to their chart topping production work, both Noah D and Mayhem are top-tier party rocking DJs as well. Get HYPE! Pittsburgh for what is sure to be two of the top DJ performances on the year!

This is the set I played before Ed Rush's first and only visit to Pittsburgh at FUZZ! in March '09. I must say this was one of my most well executed sets at FUZZ!. Those who are familiar with my sound know that I'm a die-hard neurofunk and techstep enthusiast, so I was truly honored to have the opportunity to warm the crowd for one of the true pioneer's of the neurofunk sound. I even got my copy of Wormhole signed that night. With this performance I aimed to play a varied set of new and classic neurofunk and techstep DNB, while including some of my favorite Ed Rush and Optical tunes. Take a listen and share your thoughts! Here's a partial tracklist that I'll aim to complete shortly.
1. Amit - Suicide Bomber - Commercial Suicide 2. Ed Rush & Optical - Medicine (Matrix remix) - Virus 3. Rob F., Impulse, and Mecha - Neurotoxin - Shadow Law 4. Propanganda - Let it Go - DSCI4 5. This is my set from the Time Travel rave at the Pittsburgh Coliseum on 12/31/10. This is the first ever Depth One and P.O.P performance, so it may be a little rough around the edges in some parts and I definitely played too many 12th Planet and Flinch remixes. But hey, its something that I myself enjoy listening to and I'm hella critical of my own mixes. Give it a download and put it on rotation, I'm sure you'll be pleased. Here's the full tracklist:

This is the best way of consuming Grime music after raves. Not mixtapes, not albums, not youtube channels, a good old set. DJ mixing it up, loads of MCs passing the mic quickly. Again, no particular order.
Download all of them, and have a good weekend
