Methods and Processes Critical Reflection.
The first week of methods and processes was hard for me. At first it felt like I was doing my foundation year all over again and I didn't see the point in doing it. But after some time, I had a thought  about the way I was looking at the structure of methods and processes, therefore I started to look how the structure of the class is a intellectual process, of different thought processes from all the tutors. Research was never my strongest point in the past years, I have never taken the time to do community or public research. This has given me the opportunity to look at how community research, would inform me in different ways and finding ways to gather different forms of information in design or research aspects.
The workshops over the past 8 sessions, of over 6 hours have split the course numbers in half so after the first week, we had a chance to find out from the other group what we would be doing in the year new. That meant I know what was going to happen in the future tutorials, and we could all teach each other of the experience we each shared.
The second week of methods and processes was much more welcoming to me. After a long christmas break I was looking forward to getting back to my studies and tacking the next step to methods and processes. Knowing what the second part of the process was going to entail was much more easy for me to wrap my head around it. Working in groups became more effortless once the class new each other more then at the start. CAD or cardboard aided design looked at movie scenes and how we as a group could remake the emotions/ feeling. This experience made me rethink how building models out of cardboard can improve my modal making skills for example in the first project I made a scale model of my object from cardboard to see the size of the model this helped me realise the size that I could use. On one of the days in methods and processes we had to do research in the local are of new cross, with the business. This was done in a group of four and as studio 2 has already done this class before I have been told about their own experience and about their own negative experience. After knowing this I knew that my own group needed to take a different approach with the business owners, this method taught me that sometimes as a group we can work together as a divided group. Opposition & Visual Rhetoric tutorial was eye opening in how one image is powerful and how the quote ‘ A picture paints a thousand words’ is true. This made me think how one image can make an impression and how in project 1.1 one object from the V&A inspired my whole idea, this shows how each of out projects are linked with each other.
How I use the methods and processes in my own design work has improved my research process over all. For project 1.1 I was able to find a vast number of ways for example I became  more confidence in online research and reading into the past and finding inspiration in one image/ object. In my second project 1.2 I was more used to working with groups so being put in a small group of five was more easy then I thought. In the group projects and in methods/ processes I've learned to work with others and find ways in which I could discover my own way of developing my own research and design ideas that still work within a group.
As an aspiring teacher or tutor I've always believed that what I get taught by other tutors it a collective way of skills that I could pass onto others, including my class mates. All the tutors that have taught the course have shown their own ways of methods and processes throughout their own learning experience and career, this is also a great way of receiving different skill sets. On the other hand being put in a teaching environment that would never put myself in, is experience and I believe that I have already have changed they way I look at design and my research skills.
Over all I personally don't have experience with InDesign and Illustrator because of this I have to find different ways to my critical reflection to stand out. Over the past three years I’ve wanted to start my own blog but having no confidence with technology, this has been a struggle but after starting design I've learnt to push my self forward. As a young teenager I enjoyed tumblr, but never found the courage to post anything original onto my own original blog. Furthermore the little skills that I hold in Photoshop are limited, so as one of my personal and design goals is to start an original blog. What better way to start blogging then to upload all my writer work on to an online blog that would host the hold collection of my word over the next three years.
Looking back at the processes and methods used in the 8 days I've learnt a number of techniques that I wish to use in the future and I have also used some of them in the present projects. For example group work was one of the main things that I have learnt in the short time, as I have never had to work with other people in short one day project or two week project. I hope to use many off the skills in the M&P in my second year research skills, such are the different approaches in finding different ideas and facts, furthermore in my second year I hope to use cardboard a free way to make models for object ideas. I have never expected to be using such diverse methods in my studies but this has opened up my mind to different opportunities. If I had to improve my own methods of learning and research this would include:
All ways finding every last bit of research thats out their.
Their are a number of research methods.
Try to gain a new set of skills in InDesign and Illustrator.
Expand my short amount of skills in photoshop.
Do more side projects that include computer software.
Don’t always do what you know best, learn new skills.
And its OK to ask for help.

Everyday Practice In Meal Preparation
Over the past Two and half years have tired to maintain a health life style, as a young student that can be harder then said. Going back in time to March 2015, I has having a hard time accepting my body size. I want over weight but I need to improve my life style. After looking in the mirror I know that losing stone or two would not be a bad decision, also my fathers poor health was a big shock to me. All my life I remember my father an over weight teddy bear, at a young age I didn't know how this would affect his health and shorten his life. I wanted to take control over my own life, and appreciate my own body. On the 4th March 2015 I made a change that shifted my out look on people that attended the gym. I joined a gym something I never thought that I was able to do, but I still needed to find a way to keep healthy with my diet. Their are a number of books, websites and visual media that offer their own opinion about the perfect diet or life style changes to the way we should eat or what we shouldn't eat.
The human body is one of the must complexed designs and we are each individual to this design. This individual design is what I've had to get used to. Meal preparation (or meal prep) is an art form on social media and a design in its self. The beautiful design of different coloured foods in one place is just fantastic. According to Google the definition for meal prep is “Meal Prep” in a nut shell is the act of preparing food in advance to stick within a certain diet/meal plan/schedule.” this is something that would improve my own life. The function of meal prep is a life hack that help the user improve their ability to save time and get better at planing out their own meals. Personally for me meal prep is used often within the week, for example planing my meals for my part time job and helping me save time for my projects. The main effect meal prepping has on the user or my self is ensuring that I set out meal goals, like getting the right nutritional goals and getting healthy lifestyle. For myself I've always wanted to improve my diet and get more healthy with food and drinking the right amount of water in my system.
The good part of the design for meal prep is how useful it can be for the user and how much information and recipes their are out online. Social media platforms offers a number of tips and tricks for meal prepping for beginners. On the other hand the bad parts of the design for meal prepping would be the bad management of the user, for example personally I have poor skills in putting time aside each week to spend a long time on making a big number of meals. As a student I don't have the space to store a number of ready made food, with a large number of students and one small fridge.
