⁣Website Need vs Want Part 2:
We now look at websites as we continue from the part 1. In case you have missed the first part I will put a link below. Earlier in the topic we looked at the need vs the want concept of websites. Not every business need one some may want it while it creates less value. We have worked with so many people that sometimes we discourage people from purchasing services if we see it lacking a tangible return on their investments. I have set in meetings and discouraged people from purchasing services like Search Engine Optimisation not because we wouldn’t benefit from their purchase but it is only fair for me to let you buy a product that only adds value to your business. Unfortunately, most service providers will grant you any service as long as they get money from it. I introduced a concept that building a website was like building a supermarket. The Internet is our real world gone virtual and what most people used to go out to do can now do it effortlessly through the internet. I for one used to go all the way to town to recharge the internet when our bundles expired or were exhausted but now it's only a button click away. As people can walk into a supermarket and purchase goods people can go to your website and purchase your goods and services with little all no effort on your part. We have been awarded jobs by big public listed companies in Zimbabwe that went through our company website http://www.Designlab.co.zw and called us to give us a job. These are people that searched on google and found us! A badly built website is like a supermarket built in a desert where no one ever visits. This will damage your pocket and bring zero value to your business. So what is the right way to build a website? To Be continued...

Websites PART 1 | Need Vs Want
⁣ In our journey to understand digital marketing, we will start this series by talking about websites. Are they important? If they are for who? I have seen many people ignore the idea of having a website and I have seen others ignore maintaining the website. Like anything valuable such as a car or a house if you don’t maintain it well it looses value. Most people like to think websites as real estate and this is true because over time websites appreciate value if maintained well and can be resold later for a profit. In the mid-year 2016 I started a website which was valued at $45 at the time and today it’s resale value is $840. Not every business NEED a website, don’t get me wrong it’s good for every business to have a website but some businesses benefit more from having websites than others. I have seen many web development projects and I know where most people fail and where others succeed. I like to think of building a website as building a huge supermarket. The real value is not in building the supermarket but building the supermarket in the right place. To be Continued ...
