There are many things that one must keep in mind before getting into UI Designing. The work of a UI Designer can be divided into four categories. Your communication with the client, the research, the prototype, the design and communication with the developers.

1.       Research:

There is a lot of research that comes in client communication. This includes field studies, workshops, analyzing the competition and defining the strategy. Research plays an important role and helps in knowledge development of the client. A particular design made by someone is often backed up with the research that you have done.

2.       Client communication:

This is all about understanding the problems of the client. A designer has to consistently present their work to the client and interact with them throughout the project.

 3.       Communication with a Developer:

The communication taking place with a developer plays an important part. It is not about delivering the nicest design to the client but to communicate with the client in such a way that the design exactly as what they require.

Communication while designing has many faces. It includes a detailed specification, asset generation, and viewing the design together. The traditional approach is to deliver the assets next to the screen design. Screen Design is the demonstration of how the design is going to look as a whole. Often component style is used to maintain the consistency in design. While constructing the huge software or website, it is important to have a detailed set of HTML and CSS written document by document which is then ready for implementation and then constructs into a perfect UI Design. Keeping a design eye at every phase helps in software development and is used for creating world-class soft wares.

4.       Prototyping and Designing:

The work that includes designing and prototyping is what users spend most of their time on. The project can be started from the scratch by sketching or coding which often taken a step forward.

The type of the project usually defines how a project is initiated. There is no fixed process and is usually changed from time to time. Tools play an important role in UI Designing but more than that it is the fact that even the designs need to be painted and sketched in a particular way which leaves the company with the skill of designing.
