You can improve your writing skills by lots of ways. We are going to give some of the ways to improve your writing skill.
· Expand your vocabulary
· Read regularly
· Learn a new English word from dictionary every week.
· Master English spelling
· Improve your grammar.
· Always proof read what you have written.
· Search for new sentences.
· Try to always emphasize on positive things before going to the negative topics.
Having a good writing skill is always an asset and is going to help you through out your life even after retirement. We should always understand the clear difference between social and business writing and should never mix it up. Using casual language in business letters will make a bad impression on your career path.
We know that social media has been a very major part of our lives and we spent most of our time in it. So, there is a good chance that the social writing to be a habit whenever we write something. We should be careful and make sure that we do not use smileys or abbreviations in Business writing which is so common in social writing.

Tips for writing a good letter
There are certain formats which needs to be followed when you write a business letter. Social writing is much flexible compared to business writing. You do not need to follow all the rules in social writing. But Business letters needs a definite format to be followed.
The format of a business letter is in the order-
· Your contact information.
· Date
· Recipient’s contact information
· The salutation.
· Body of letter.
· Closing
· Signature.
Tips for formatting the letter
· Letter should be simple and focused.
· Leave space between each paragraph.
· Use plain font like Arial or Times of Roman
· The font size should be 12 points
· Leave a blank between salutation and before the closing.
· Strike the right tone.
· Use “To whom so ever” if you are unsure of the recipient/ recipients.

Social writing vs Business writing
As we all know, having a good writing skill is necessary in today’s world. It is very important for your professional and personal life. Good writing skill leads to good communication within and outside the business.
According to Kate Brodock, the social media writing is “Content, primarily in written format, that is designed to be optimal for social sharing.”
The goal of business writing is to transmit information to a reader, so clear language is necessary to help a reader understand information easily, says Cullen, adding, "Writing clearly is one of the harder aspects of business writing."
Brant W. Knapp, in his book, "A Project Manager's Guide to Passing the Project Management Exam," notes that,
"The main aim of business writing is that it should be understood clearly when read quickly. The message should be well planned, simple, clear, and direct."
People’s intellect and their talent are often judged by their writing skills. Having a good writing skill is very essential for the success of any individual’s career. Often the letter sent by you will be the first point of contact in many business communications like sending an job application. If you can create a good job application letter, you can create a good first impression. Even after you enter in to a job, you will have to send a lot of letters throughout your career within the business and outside your business. People who mold a good letter with appropriate words create a good impression on the reader and often are respected.
