BLOG 5

In the first scene of the movie Guddu and Saroo steal coal from the train just to traide it with milk and food because their mother only carries rock as her work and this will never enough for them, So the next day while their mother is busy working Guddu decided and find a job again and Saroo follows him but when they arrive to the station Saroo got fall asleep, Guddu wakes him up but saroo was too tired to open his eyes. So Guddu decided to leave Saroo and said that he’ll be back.

The next thing that happen was Saroo was already lost in the middle of nowhere, He try finding his brother but he couldn’t find him, He spend his nights on the street, wandering and roaming in the city.

Until he got into an orphanage type for street childrens and a couple saw him on the newspaper. Months later he got adopted by the australlian couple. They were so kind to him, they treat like their own child.

Years later Saroo tried to find his family again and after a 25 years he finally found his mom, but also that day he found out that the day they were separated, that was also the day that Guddu died because of a train.

This movie was worth the cry, A must watch movie to all and I recommend you all to watch this movie. A happy ending indeed.

• What life lesson can be learned from the movie?

- Try and try until you succeed because being tired at the beginning was just a test, until you make it to the end everything will be paid off .

• What part of the story told by the movie was the most powerful? Why?

- It was in the last scene of the movie because he found his family and already got the unanswered questions that he’s waiting for how many years.

• Who was your favorite character in the movie? Why?

- Soora because he never gaves up to find his family

• Did anything that happened in the movie remind you of something that has occurred in your own life or that you have been seen occur to others?

- One of my friend once look for her dad, She also got a lot of questions in her head but she remains to just be it.

BLOG 4

There was this couple named Grace and Mason who both working on a group home for troubled teenagers. Grace lives with her boyfriend Mason, but then Grace finds out that she’s pregnant. She scheduled an appointment for abortion without his boyfriend knowing it. Later then, she tell to his boyfriend that his pregnant but never tell about the abortion.

At the facility, they focus their efforts on the teens. Every teen in the house has its different problem battling for, The couple never let any teen to be out of place. They just want them to be happy and have a clearer thoughts in mind.

Party hosted by Mason’s foster parents, He proposes to Grace and she accepts it. The other day mason was the one who picked up the call, saying that grace father is being released from the prison, Grace was so upset.

Later that day, the teen named Marcus attempted to commit suicide after the death of his fish, At the hospital Grace breaks down and mason was so upset because grace refuse to talk about how she really feels, instead grace tells him that she’s no longer want to marry him and that she plans to have an abortion.

Later when grace goes home he apologize to mason, who tells her that marcus will recover.

Several weeks later, Grace starts seeing a therapist and shown viewing an ultrasound of their baby.

In the movie short-term showed teens that has been abused by their own parents and has been traumatized because of it but no matter what they still find a reason to smile despite of all the battles they are fighting for.

• What life lesson can be learned from the movie?

- I learned that life must still go on no matter what happens.

• What part of the story told by the movie was the most powerful? Why?

- It's when Grace decided to see a therapist, because she's no longer aborting the baby and their reaction was priceless seeing their soon to be child in the monitor. We all know that parent's love is always be the best gift we could ever receive in life.

• Who was your favorite character in the movie? Why?

- Jayden, because she still managed to be that strong girl no matter what happened in the past.

• Did anything that happened in the movie remind you of something that has occurred in your own life or that you have been seen occur to others?

- I have this friend back when I was elementary that was also sexually abused by her step dad, And that was the last news I heard from her. Sadly we never talked and see each other again but I think she's doing well and fine.

• If you had a chance to ask a character in this movie a question, what would it be?

- To jayden, Will you ever forgive your father?

There was this kid named August ‘Auggie’ he has done many surgeries and has been homeschooled for so long, So his parents decided to enroll him since he’s approaching middle school age, At first he was too shy and doesn’t want to talk to anyone, He cried on his first day of school because of the kids bullying him and just wearing his helmet makes him confident. But then he found a friend named Jack, his mom was shocked when auggie introduced his first friend in his school. They spend their time playing video games during weekends, Eating their lunch together and spending their freetime laughing. During the Halloween, auggie wears an old “Ghostface” mask, He was so excited as he ran to their room but then he overheard his friend jack saying that he’s just pretending to be friend with him. At that time auggie feel betrayed and just stayed in his room all day but then her sister via talks to him, later then he feels alright. The other day auggie distant himself to jack because of what happened during the Halloween. But then this girl named Summer suddenly go to auggie’s table and ask him about what happened to jack and him, At first auggie doubt to tell her about it but he eventually said it because he knows he can trust summer. At that time Summer and Auggie became friends. Jack was so confused what happened but then he asked summer about it but she only gave a clue “Ghostface” and he remembers everything what he said during the Halloween.

At the end during auggie’s field trip the kids that bullying him back then became his friends he was so happy, During the graduation ceremony auggie selected for the Henry Ward Beecher Medal for Standing out and then Isabel commenting on him being a wonder.

All I thought the movie was boring but NO, this movie made me cry I learned so many lessons because of auggie. This movie was good and I recommend you all to watch it because it’s all worth your time.

• What life lesson can be learned from the movie?

- I learned that no matter how hard things may you just gotta trust, believe in yourself, have patience and be kind because good things always come at the end.

• What part of the story told by the movie was the most powerful? Why?

- The last scene, it's when Mr. Browne gave the award to Auggie and everyone's cheering for him and as it said in the Movie "Be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle. And if you really wanna see what people are, all you have to do is look" because not everyone who's fighting a battle is like Auggie who have the courage to let just things be and never gives up on the things that matters him the most.

• Who was your favorite character in the movie? Why?

- Auggie, because he still remains to be silence and choose to be strong and kind despite of all the kids that bullying him.

• Did anything that happened in the movie remind you of something that has occurred in your own life or that you have been seen occur to others?

- So far I never experienced and seen something like it.

• If you had a chance to ask a character in this movie a question, what would it be?

- To Auggie, How did you managed being so strong?

I’ve been using Samsung as the brand of my mobile phone for the past years. I should have a loyalty award for this Samsung.. kidding but I must say that their technology are good, the new upgrade Samsung phone has done many improvements. They have upgraded many features but I think the only feature that Samsung can’t copy to apple phones is the quality of their camera because Samsung camera have this beauty camera that will make your face so white and slim I think that’s the secret behind of it *HAHAHA* But the advantages of Samsung is that they can download all the application for free.

If you will ever buy a new phone, choose the best brand phone that is worth buying and will last till the end.

CHOOSE THOSE PHONES WHO WILL NEVER LEAVE YOUR SIDE EASILY.

I honestly don’t know where to start in writing up this blog because it’s my first time doing this so guys please bear with me.

Ofcourse I should introduced myself first, Hi to everyone who will read this I’m Odette Varilla Palpallatoc. Do you guys wondering where did they got my name? Well it’s from the combination name of my parents. They got the “O” from the name of my father “Onofre” and the “Dette” from the name of my mother “Bernadette”. Amazing isn’t it? And according to my mom the meaning of my name is “wealth”.

I’m already 18 years of age. I was born in the cold month of November 6, 1999 and I’m from the Crab Capital of the North, BUGUEY CAGAYAN!! *Loud and proud*.

I only have one sibling but we always fight like cat and dog, My parents are both working abroad.

My favorite drinks are sodas and coffee. My favorite way of pass time would be staying in my room and just sleep because sleeping is my only way to escape from the real world. I like being alone as much as possible I just want to stay in my room all day. I like figuring things by myself because I'm strong and Independent Woman but not that much *HAHAHA*

I honestly don’t eat much chocolate because in the end it will just hurt my throat because of too much sweetness, but my favorite chocolates would be maltesers and cadbury. I also like listening to music everyday, well at this moment im listening to

Probably everyone who knows me especially my friends know that I'm a die hard fan of James Reid and Nadine Lustre, I honestly wanna met them in person and hug them tight. *Hays that would be goals of ever*.

I’m a millennial kid but I don’t like going to parties that much, I don’t want exposing myself that much and I hate crowds though I'm getting used to it because I'm already studying in a university ofcourse you’ll expect many people around you. I also hate it when someone keeps repeating that I'm small like yes I know I have two eyes I can see it with myself. *well I'm not mad hahaha* Well it's already 2018! I’m just taking all of these as a joke even it’s not really a joke. Char that’s life sometimes you never gets what you want.

I never been in a relationship because im prioritizing my studies for now. Though I have a crush on someone before, It started with a friend request and end up saying goodbye *charot*. We used to talk before through chats but we never got the chance to talk in person because it's always a wrong timing whenever he asked me out (well timing wasn't really on our side hahaha) though we’re in the same school and building. *sir secret lang natin to ha hahaha* so that's the end of it and we never talked again.

Well I learned that if things are really meant for you then it will.

But no matter what I still got a friends who got my back and picks me up whenever things are rough 😊 *SHOUTOUT TO ALL MY FRIENDS OUT THERE*

• Where do I see myself 10 years from now? Was my learning in SPUP vital to where im leading to?

- I see myself as a successful engineer having projects. Yes because SPUP taught me things that I know I can use it in the future.

• Was stem was the best choice after All?

- Yes because engineering is in the STEM track and this track prepares me from my choosen course for college.

• What course will you take in college and why?

- I’m planning to take Civil engineering for my college, because I got inspired by my cousin who’s an engineer now and I wanna build a big house for my family.
