How to Transfer Tumblr Posts to Another Account
Tumblr lacks a dedicated import and export tool for transferring posts from one account to another, but you can effectively achieve the same result by simply changing the address of your current Tumblr blog. If you actually want to move all your Tumblr blog content from one user account to a completely different user account, it will be necessary to employ other blog platforms to make the transfer happen. Otherwise, your only option is to backup your Tumblr and manually copy and paste the content into your new account.
Transfer Posts to Another Address on Tumblr
Log in to your Tumblr account and click the settings icon.
Select the blog you want to transfer to a different address.
Update the URL to the Web address where you want to transfer your Tumblr posts and then click "Save."
Your blog posts will now appear at the updated address.
Transfer Posts Using Blogger and WordPress
Navigate to the WordPress home page and sign up for a free account. There is no need to customize the title or appearance of the WordPress blog as it is just acting as an intermediary.
Hover your mouse over your username and then click the WordPress blog.
Click "Tools" and then click "Import."
Click "Tumblr" and then click "Connect to Tumblr to begin."
Sign in to your Tumblr account and then click "Allow."
Click "Import this blog" to transfer your Tumblr posts to WordPress.
Click "Export" and then click "Download Export File" to save the blog export file to your computer.
Navigate to the Wordpress to Blogger conversion tool
Click "Choose File" and then select the WordPress export file and click "Convert" to save the blog content in the Blogger format.
Navigate to the Blogger home page and sign up for a free account. As with the WordPress account, there is no need to customize the options of your blog.
Click "Settings" and then select "Other" and then "Import Blog."
Click "Choose File" and then select the converted export file and click "Import Blog."
Navigate to the Blogger to Tumblr transfer tool.
Enter your Blogger feed URL and the address of the Tumblr blog connected to your new account and then click "Next."
Just add "/feeds/posts/default" to the end of your Blogger address to get the feed URL.
Click "Authorize with Tumblr" and then login to your new Tumblr account and click "Allow" to transfer the posts from Blogger into Tumblr.
Once the transfer is complete, you can delete the WordPress and Blogger accounts.
Copy and Paste to Another Account
Navigate to the Tumblr backup tool.
Enter your current Tumblr address and click "Go."
Click "File" and select "Save as" to save the backup file to your computer.
Open Notepad if you are on a Windows computer or TextEdit if you are on a Mac.
Click "File" and then "Open" and open the Tumblr backup file you saved to your computer.
Sign in to your new Tumblr account and select the post type for the first entry you are going to copy and paste from the backup into your new account.
Copy all the text and code between "<div id="post">" and "</div>" and paste it into the new Tumblr entry. Each individual Tumblr post is contained within the DIV code.
Repeat this process for each entry in the backup file. You may choose to adjust the dates and tags for each entry you add to your new Tumblr blog.
