E’ finita

Mi arrendo. Questa volta mi sa per davvero. Ho provato in tutti i modi a tornare su questo sito. Ho ripreso a seguire certi tumbleri e ho smesso di seguirne altri. Ho rebloggato post a go go senza sosta. Ho addirittura cercato in giro per tutto l’universo-Tumblr post con tag legati alle mie passioni e ai miei interessi. Niente da fare. Scrivo un post e non se lo caga nessuno. Se questo fosse il mio diario personale, me ne farei una ragione. Ma questa è una community, e quindi non ce la faccio. Non posso semplicemente smettere -- devo annunciare che voglio smettere. E allora diciamolo: è finita. Sono cambiate troppe cose, caro Tumblr. Adesso ho troppe cose per la testa e troppo poco tempo per altre distrazioni... specialmente se non portano niente di buono.

Non smetterò di scrivere. Solo, scriverò per me stesso, oppure scriverò per un altro pubblico. Ma queste cose a metà, francamente, mi stanno strette e mi creano frustrazioni di cui non ho bisogno. Inoltre, come dire, ormai scrivo soprattutto in inglese, e l’italiano, mi dispiace, mi sta anche stretto. Niente, non c��è nulla da fare. Me ne devo andare. Che non significa che non mi farò più vivo. Entrerò, di tanto in tanto. Condividerò qualche post. Magari scriverò qualcosa. Ma sento che, per me, è giunto il tempo di cambiare. Non perché Tumblr è cambiato. Sono io che sono cambiato. In meglio, questo non so dirlo. Ma sicuramente, in un’altra direzione. Come riassunto in uno dei miei dialoghi preferiti da un recente film della Disney:

“Dove vai?”

“Con un po’ di fortuna, avanti.”

P.S. Agli amici di Tumblr che mi hanno tenuto compagnia in questi anni -- grazie. Non sarete dimenticati.

Note: the last page is not just a gag, it’s a reference to one of the many medieval legends about Vergil (and Ovid, in this case): in this one Ovid, according to the anonymous author, was having an affair with Augustus’ wife Livia (note: this did never happen) and one time, wanting to reach her bedroom, used an invisible ladder to climb up to her room; Vergil, (who should have been dead at the time, but medievals don’t care) wanting to prevent that, sneakily steals some steps off the ladder so Ovid just…falls down and breaks his legs. Augustus finds it out and exiles Ovid. In short, a creative interpretation of Ovid’s error featuring a particularly nasty Vergil. (thanks @thoodleoo for letting us all know of this legend)
