Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for April! A scene from The Wicked King by Holly Black, Cardan and Jude pledging their troth.
This scene was nondescript on the type of flowers that were blooming in the king's chambers as they were professing their vows to each other. But given how they were both adamant that their marriage would be utilitarian and short lived, I feel like the room blooming over head was a sign that it was more permanent than they realized, hence the wisteria and its meaning. 🤭

What we know about the next Elhame book.
Now that Holly Black has confirmed that the next Elfhame book is not in Cardan’s POV, I wanted to go through some of what we do know about the next book, including some speculation based on what she has said.
I’m honestly not completely surprised it is not Cardan’s POV, I always wondered why the fandom assumed it would be truthfully😅. I thought if anything it would be a dual POV with Jude and Cardan.
The book will take place during Jude and Cardan’s trip to the Undersea while there is a contest for Nicasia’s hand. This is hinted at during chapter 24 of The Prisoner’s Throne.
Holly Black interviews:
“If you have made it all the way to the end of the Prisoner’s throne, it seems pretty clear to me what we are doing next.”
“When you finish Prisoner’s throne it will become very obvious what I’m going to do next. I'm not allowed to say it, but he’s pretty obvious where we’re going.”
CH. 24 of TCP
“After that last little rescue, Nicasia has demanded we honor our treaty, meet her suitors, and witness the contest for her hand and crown. And so Jude and I are headed to the Undersea, where we will go to a lot of parties and try very hard not to die.”
It’s not Nicasia’s point of view.
“In extreme suspicion someone asked me whether or not it would be [...] Nicasia’s POV, and I said it would be the exact POV you would expect it to be, from the end (of TPT), not Nicasia’s.”
It’s likely Jude’s POV, not including Cardan like the fandom has speculated
“It would just be the POVs you would expect it to be.”
“Straight sequel. It’s kind of a straight sequel.”
In the circulating IG comment, she confirms it’s not Cardan’s POV, yet says nothing about Jude.

Of course I could be wrong, but this makes the most sense given what she has said in the past.

I feel like I need to vent but seriously all I can say is today was so disappointing as a fandom. Just wow. I went through a phase where I was utterly obsessed with the ACOTAR series, but I would have never guessed the lengths that others would go to make a point in this fandom.

My toxic trait is that when I find out someone doesn’t like The Cruel Prince, I see it as a character flaw. I can’t help it.

Elriel Month 2025 ❤️ Guilty as Sin @elriel-month
“He needed to know what the skin of her neck tasted like. What those perfect lips tasted like. Her breasts. Her sex. He needed her coming on his tongue–”
Happy Elriel month! Here is our commission for the “Guilty as Sin” prompt. We wanted to create a drool-worthy rendition of Azriel from the perspective of Elain as she sits atop his lap after a long hard night of their fantasies coming true 😏 The sunlight is already filtering through their cottage window and they haven’t had a wink of sleep yet… 🤭
A MASSIVE thank you to @ayushnz on Instagram for creating the most panty dropping depiction of Azriel ever created. You were an angel to work with and we can’t wait to share another piece from you soon 👀❤️🔥

Guilty as Sin | @elriel-month
We know how Azriel can’t help himself, not when it comes to Elain.
Soft touches. Wandering fingers. He knows it’s wrong… and does it anyway.
He touches like he’s starving. Like he’ll never get enough.
And maybe… he won’t.
Endless thanks to the incredibly gifted @adduani for bringing this moment to life and for always being such a joy to collaborate with. These projects are made all the more beautiful by your vision, talent, and heart. Creating together is always a pleasure. 💜

Can we stop letting anons bait us 🫠
That’s what they want from you.
You’re giving them what they want.
Elriel tag has become 90% responding to troll anons.
With so much peace and love, block and move on🩷
Sincerely, someone who just wants to enjoy her ship in peace
#elriel#you’re playing into their hand by responding guys#said with so much peace and love#experiencing Elriel tag fatigue and it’s Elriel month :(#I wanna see pretty art and mood boards not a constant stream of negativity from troll anons you give a voice to when responding

YES PLEASE. I’m sorry but it’s so draining. Giving the hate anons a voice only makes things worse. YOU CAN ALSO LITERALLY BLOCK ANONS TOO
Can my fellow elriel please slow down tagging anti troll anon hate in the elriel tag nonstop? Especially during elriel month
Its kind of getting draining to see more whiny antis in anon form than elriel love in the tag
Every other post is someone responding to anon trolls spouting hate. We may as well be in at the #anti elriel tag.
The anon hate is just going to ramp up cause its elriel month and elains book is probably being announced soon, its best to just turn anon messages off completely. That will piss them off more than anything.

Happy Elriel Month everyone! For today's prompt, @acourtofquietdreamers and I collaborated on this commission and we are so happy we got the chance to work with the talented @lynx_illustration again!
Her work always blows us away and she did a phenomenal job bringing the prettiest in Prythian to life 🩷
There's something so beautiful about two people who seem so different on the outside being drawn together so effortlessly. In this piece, we wanted to showcase the beauty created when light and dark blend together.
Elain and Azriel representing light and dark is one of the many reasons they make such a complimentary pair. While Azriel can help Elain embrace the darkness, Elain can show Azriel he's worthy of the light he's craved since he was a young boy trapped in a dark cell.

Emily Wilde:
Doesn’t hate her colleague, but does find his attitude, work ethic, and face annoying. His hair is very pretty though, and she’d like to run her fingers through it, but she doesn’t know where that idea came from, which is also annoying.
Has no problem with wandering off to isolated locations without telling anyone, will not hesitate to trick the Fae, and calmly considers chopping off her own hand to save her life.
Also has no idea what to do when a person starts crying. This includes herself.
“Visiting naturalist manages to offend entire village with a single failed social encounter. One dead, thirty-seven injured.”
Decides she should probably have sex first to see if she even likes it before committing to this whole “marriage” thing.
Admits to herself that her primary motivation for rescuing the villagers kidnapped by the Fae is research, and immediately remembers she should feel bad about this.
Prof. E. Wilde, page 1: This journal is for documentation and research purposes only, and will not be filled with personal drivel.
Prof. E. Wilde, 200 pages later: Reader, I had to kiss him. For… scientific observation.
So used to self-reliance that she can’t imagine people coming to her rescue because they care about her.
Gives off the vibe of Tragic Victorian Orphan. Her parents are still alive.
