Punctuating Dialogue
➸ “This is a sentence.”
➸ “This is a sentence with a dialogue tag at the end,” she said.
➸ “This,” he said, “is a sentence split by a dialogue tag.”
➸ “This is a sentence,” she said. “This is a new sentence. New sentences are capitalized.”
➸ “This is a sentence followed by an action.” He stood. “They are separate sentences because he did not speak by standing.”
➸ She said, “Use a comma to introduce dialogue. The quote is capitalized when the dialogue tag is at the beginning.”
➸ “Use a comma when a dialogue tag follows a quote,” he said.
“Unless there is a question mark?” she asked.
“Or an exclamation point!” he answered. “The dialogue tag still remains uncapitalized because it’s not truly the end of the sentence.”
➸ “Periods and commas should be inside closing quotations.”
➸ “Hey!” she shouted, “Sometimes exclamation points are inside quotations.”
However, if it’s not dialogue exclamation points can also be “outside”!
➸ “Does this apply to question marks too?” he asked.
If it’s not dialogue, can question marks be “outside”? (Yes, they can.)
➸ “This applies to dashes too. Inside quotations dashes typically express—“
“Interruption” — but there are situations dashes may be outside.
➸ “You’ll notice that exclamation marks, question marks, and dashes do not have a comma after them. Ellipses don’t have a comma after them either…” she said.
➸ “My teacher said, ‘Use single quotation marks when quoting within dialogue.’”
➸ “Use paragraph breaks to indicate a new speaker,” he said.
“The readers will know it’s someone else speaking.”
➸ “If it’s the same speaker but different paragraph, keep the closing quotation off.
“This shows it’s the same character continuing to speak.”

hey when you make posts, i just want you to know, thou/thee/thy/thine/ye are like he/you(object)/your/yours/you(subject) okay? "thou art wearing shoes," "i will wear shoes for thee," okay?
you say thine if the next word starts with a vowel and thy if the next word starts with a consonant and they both mean "your" so "thine own shoes," "thy shoes," okay?
and ye means you and refers to the subject of a sentence, "ye members of the brotherhood of shoes," okay? you need this information to create better knight yaoi. i'm personally more interested in nun yuri but we are a community

-Stray Cat Arc (Episodes 1-4) The beginning arc of the anime that introduces the audience to the characters.
Episode 1, Stray: Ezra first meets Winnie for the first time while leaving a boring fancy party. Ezra convinces Winnie to come home with him, and Winnie agrees because Winnie thinks Ezra’s eyes are shiny. Ezra gives Winnie a bath and a name, lets him barrow a nightgown, and gives him a haircut. Ezra teaches Winnie how to play checkers, they play a couple rounds before Winnie gets sleepy and Ezra shows Winnie the guest room, gives him a glass of warm milk and tucks him into bed.
Episode 2, Sweet Tooth: Ezra has pancakes for the first time due to the lack of available people to eat. Ezra takes Winnie shopping so Winnie has actually clothing to wear. Ezra tries to find a pair of shoes that Winnie hates wearing the least. Winnie gets a bunch of comfy nightgowns and some accessories to go with them to make them look more like outfits and not just pajamas. Ezra picks out a few formal gowns for Winnie. Winnie and Ezra go to a fancy cafe where Winnie discovers sweets. Then at the end of the episode when Ezra and Winnie are walking home they almost get mugged until Winnie eats the mugger.
Episode 3, Sin in Sinclair: The episode begins with Miles in a carriage going to Ezra’s manor to investigate the mysterious disappearance of one of Ezra’s Butlers (Winnie ate him). This episode serves as our introduction to Miles. Ezra greets Miles smugly while taunting him. Miles goes around searching Ezra’s manor until he finds Winnie in the middle of eating another person and Ezra promptly hits Miles on the head with a shovel. When Miles wakes up Ezra immediately starts gaslighting Miles and tells him that he fell down the stairs, Miles doesn’t buy it for a second because he knows how Ezra works. Ezra introduces Miles to Winnie properly and Miles is incredibly suspicious of both of them. Miles goes back to the room and finds it completely spotless, the rest of the episode is just Miles frantically looking any evidence at all. Miles leaves but before calling out Ezra and promising to reveal his sins to the public. Ezra smugly taunts him some more and Miles leaves.
Episode 4, Tears of a Cannibal: The episode begins with Winnie eating a person on the carpet and Hester goes to scold him but Winnie uses his big black autistic eyes on him and she feels to bad to continue. Winnie soon notices that his nails are getting too long and are getting in the way of things due to not getting used as much, so Ezra cuts them for Winnie. Ezra is very careful not to hurt Winnie and makes sure they’re still sharp and useful. Ezra starts getting Winnie all dolled up for a party tonight. While at the party Winnie starts getting overstimulated with amount of people and bright lights but does his best to keep it to together so he can make Ezra proud. The breaking point comes when Miles starts insulting Winnie because he’s seen the monster that Winnie but more importantly Miles is trying to bait Winnie into attacking him so he can prove to everyone that Winnie is monster. This horrible backfires on Miles when Winnie starts sobbing and everyone looks at Miles like he just kicked a box of kittens off a cliff. Ezra takes Winnie aside and starts praising Winnie for his crocodile tears only to learn that Winnie was genuinely upset by what Miles said. Winnie starts crying about how loud everyone is, how there’s too many people, how bright it is, how itchy his dress is, and how uncomfortable his shoes. Ezra gently strokes Winnie’s hair and they go home. At night Winnie has a nightmare of a past he doesn’t remember and goes crying to Ezra, and Ezra lets Winnie sleeps in his bed and reads to him until Winnie falls asleep while snuggled to Ezra.

Devilish Darling is set in an anachronistic fairytale world, it looks like the Victorian era but they have CRT televisions that operate like modern ones. They have functional cellphones and fancy modern stuff.

Devilish Darling Cast (May be Subject to Growth and Change)
-Ezra Sinclair
Rich asshole who likes seeing people suffer. Has severe abandonment issues due to his parents not being in his life and his best friend abandoning him. Winnie is his only friend and finds him utterly fascinating. Thinks social norms as dumb and likes men with creepy eyes. Love wearing socks and avoids having to take them off. Feeds people he doesn’t like to Winnie
-Winifred(Winnie)
Has an insatiable hunger for human flesh, and has a bite force strong enough to break a human femur, sharp claws and teeth, and stomach acid strong enough to eat human bones. Hates having to wear shoes, socks, or pants and has a lot of sensory issues with clothing in general. When he’s not eating a person whole he likes to eat sweets and pretty nightgowns. Doesn’t really understand how to be a human person but he wants to make Ezra proud so he tries to behave, it doesn’t really work but at least he tries. Has a big autopsy scar on his chest and a fear of doctors that are a part of his backstory that won’t be revealed until the second season. He’s surprisingly well mannered for a blood thirsty cannibal.
-Miles Montague, a stoic boy who was Ezra’s childhood friend turned bitter enemy. Miles was the only person Ezra could talk to besides Hester, but Miles decided he didn’t want to be friends with him anymore because Ezra’s mentally unstable. The breaking point being when Ezra ruined Miles girlfriend’s life. Miles himself views himself of being better than others people due his high morals, finds Ezra and Winnie repulsive. Has a Holier than Thou attitude.
-Hester Jones, a deadpan old lady who works as Ezra’s head maid and is practically Ezra mom at this point. Doesn’t care about Winnie eating people as long as he doesn’t do on the carpet. She probably used to be a serial killer when she was younger. Likes hookers and blow, keeps winning the hottest gilf award despite never applying in the first place.
-Ezra’s Parents, who are completely absent in Ezra’s life and he see them twice a year at most. They live in a completely separate house from him and probably the root of most of Ezra’s issues.
-Church of the Devouring One, a cult devoted to giving their god a physical body and so they experimented on orphans to give to give them a physical body. They had nearly 40 orphans in their care all together, now only 3 three remain (4 if you count Winnie). The 3 are called the Chimera Trio.
Midas, the oldest of The Chimera Trio, at 20 years old, He has 3 faces and 6 arms and he can control liquid gold.. He’s like a cool older brother to the rest of the Chimera Trio, very calm and caring.
Periclymenus, around 15 years old and angry and violent about everything thing that’s happened to him. He’s the most deformed out of the chimera trio, has the ability to shape shift and in his true form is more like slime in a vaguely human shape.
Argus, the youngest of the Chimera Trio at 13 years old. His entire body is covered with eyes. He is very bratty and stubborn.

Welcome to the Devilish Darling Blog, where I will post all about my cartoon/ anime concept, Devilish Darling (name may be subject to change). Here you can find art, episode ideas, and more.
What is Devilish Darling About?
Devilish Darling is a dark comedy/slice of life story about a sadistic, rich, boy with abandonment issues named Ezra Sinclair and an nameless, orphan, cannibal, boy with an insatiable hunger that Ezra named Winifred, nicknamed Winnie. Ezra found Winnie eating people in an alley way after leaving a boring party and convinced him to come home with him. Ezra thinks Winnie should be his authentic self, even if that authentic self is a people eating monster. Now they have to solve mysteries and get into all sorts of wacky situations.
You are allowed to ask questions but I’ll only answer one’s that are related to Devilish Darling, other projects that I’m working on, and some questions about me.
Am I allowed to make fan content?
Yes you may, I won’t police what kind of fan content you make as because I don’t think it’s possible to control how people view your art, but I don’t want anyone bullying anyone else over what they make.
