Abridged City Destruction Timeline:

Affected Sectors:

Sector One

A rift opened in the middle of the sector, releasing the pariah from the underground. A magical storm was cast above the sector, rendering most of it obscure. Raw destruction, tremors and fires and lightning. Culprit: Nightmare Knight

Sector Five

The Condesce used her psyonic blasts to topple a populated shopping center to the ground, wrecking the buildings around it and causing heavy casualties, watching as that mayhem ensued. Culprit: The Condesce

Sector Four 

A series of explosives and special effects were detonated, crumbling several buildings in Sector Four. The people affected assumed Nightmare Knight is to blame, and have begun to form a rioting crowd. Culprit: “Nightmare Knight”              (Instigator currently unknown)

Sector Two

One of the drills smashed into a toxic waste line, sending sludge into District Beta. Above in Sector Two, the vent systems have been deactivated, and toxic fumes are accumulating within the area. A card was left as a symbol of cult activity. Culprit: Unknown

Atrocious!

This is a disaster. I’ve seen wrecked cities before and although I wouldn’t speak of it proudly I’ve caused such destruction myself. Looking at the City now it’s not far from how Arene was as it was burnt to ashes.... All this made worse by my position as the leader of the police. Looking at the writings and details gathering on my table nothing comes clearer. Naturally I’ve already sent some to work for the safety but what on Earth should I do about the one’s standing at the center of this mess.

I must have been a fool to think status like this is worth much in a place like this.... I could still retire  of course but pension here doesn’t really work the same as in the Empire. In fact it’s even worse!! 

Worrying about it like this won’t make me look older, just more tired I’m gathering black  shadows under my eyes and the accursed hair is spread into a mess.

“ .....what is it so good about blowing up public property anyway? “ I mutter sinking to the table. Should I focus on culprits? Do we have people strong enough to deal with that? At least those riots should be worked on....

A moment of desperate silence of frustration gets soon interrupted by a knock on the door. I quickly bounce up taking my eyes towards it. I let out a sigh and raise my voice:

“ Enter. “

I have to say it’s quite a sight to see a somber man like Attano in such appearance. He quite contrasts commercially charming Christmas lights of many colours with that expression. It makes me wonder if someone has has roped him to this...? Told him it’s latest fashion or something like that. Attano is, after all, a man from yet another completely different place and the thing that is now crowning his head.... 

Yes, it must be that sort of setting. In this sort of situation I’m supposed to act as if I don’t see a thing right....? As awfully amusing as this is I musn’t laugh too hard. 

“.....I suppose it does suit you in a way”, I greet him. No doubt my face isn’t the least amused...

Arriving to the kitchen of the police station you’ll find out a plate. On it lay several gingerbread cookies (storebought) and a thermo full of glogg. Next to it lays a card, written with most neat penmanship:

Merry Xmas and whatever else you lot are celebrating!

I hope this year has lessened the portion of the coals that are to be shared across the City! If not you still have time get the some more naughty populace gathered to the station before settling comfortably ready for your holiday* ! 

Especially nice policeworkers have been gifted with bonus for your hard work! Before leaving make sure your workspace is clean and without a dust so I don’t have to call you in to specifically clean it. Make it shinier than your desk at home.

first off sorry i missed the ending of the ball so didn’t finish any of the starters lol.... also im gonna do this thing where i drop MAJORITY of my threads that are ON MY TURN CURRENTLY.  that said i might do some of them and you can either reply or not.if you want to continue just contact my tired butt

Shalem’s brow raised a bit, catching that strange interruption with those words. Yet with little reason to pursue it or question it, the assassin simply shrugged as his eyes focused on Tanya.

“Relying on your magic when you know very well you can’t be certain there’s enough to be had is dangerous, you know. Besides, you might enjoy your trickery and what not, I’d rather rely on something more tangible and solid.”

With a sigh, the assassin brought up a chair close to Tanya’s hospital bed and sat down in it, folding his arms over his chest.

“So how long did the hospital say you’ll be here?”

I hope he catches how unimpressed I am with my retort for my expression doesn’t fully cover it. Is he just this bad in smalltalk?

“ I’m not relying on it though. I can’t, I’m sure your weapons were just as blocked and changed up when you arrived, weren’t they? I was just complaining a bit.“

“ As for the medicines did you ever take consideration for my age? You can’t stuff child full of medicine in the same way they do with adults. Spells have their own side-effects but none of those will kill you by overdose. “

It’s pointless to reason with this guy, I get it but the way he denies something so obviously useful just endlessly frustrates me. It’s pigheads like this that put breaks on development by dismissing things that are foreign to them. If I was his superior I would force him to work with mages and see how much damage he can do compares to them ---- 

Ahh useless. I sigh as well.

“I have to admit, though this city is much less advanced than what I care for, at least their medical facilities don’t leave much to be desired for. I guess you can count yourself lucky for being able to have modern medicine, yes?”

“ For your standards perhaps. For me this is fine, it’s the kind I was u-- uh I mean, what I prefer... “  I almost slipped with my words there.

No kidding though, the improvement technology and hygienics and other such matters compared to the time during the Great War is a blessing. Save for one thing that’s missing from this City... 

“ ....well, mage technology works better than the painkillers though. I certainly would like to see future operational orbs if they’re already as effective as they were. “

    ▬Shishigou’s hand lowers only enough to not catch his sunglasses in his rush to rub his forehead with an agreeing grunt. He did not expect this turn of event either, nor the idea of his supervisor being the one to turn up after weeks of cooperative gaming.  He never played during work but the idea of being fired for simple hobbies lingered in the back of  his throat like vomit. This would have been his first stable job!

    “ Ugh, yeah, I do. There’s no way, right? Yet…  Geez.”

     ▬He sighed, deflated. Shishigou fell back against his chair. His elbows hung over the back. He glanced toward the baristas taking orders. He went ahead and ordered ahead for them, but it felt weird to bring that up. 

  “ Weren’t you like.. part of the Great War or something?  You talked about everything so naturally, I would have never guessed anyone from that time would be able to play or understand games and talk shit in them too… Or even liking the same restaurants that didn’t exist back then . Its weird, yo. I’m still not used to all this… weird world thing. It just…doesnt work in mine, yanno. That was like 70 years ago to me.”

Ahh, as expected, he’d pick it up wouldn’t he? Although I’m not glad about almost being found out I’m fairly sure that if someone wasn’t able to at least feel that something was off when I talk more freely - well, I might have hired a wrong person.

“ Ah, well you know.... It’s that. “

My eyes divert to the side. What a pain. I really don’t want to deal this. Wouldn’t it seem deceptive to have hidden the information of my identity? I mean, certainly it was for my own benefit but it’s not that important to know isn’t it? 

“ I came here a lot earlier than you so... “

Silence fills the air and I can still feel his stare on me. I grit my teeth. Not that I can read his mind but is this going through? Probably not. He’s not answering so that should mean it isn’t right? 

“ ....alright fine. I’m not really sure where to start though.“ I find my self fiddling with my hair.

“ Well, as far as this body goes, it really is about 12 years old and I’m also not the one to pick the name - it’s recorded by the nuns of the orphanage I lived in but... “
