In Raidou's defense, he hadn't exactly expected to find himself in the tropical region of Hoenn today. He had originally been training in the Akarana Corridor, and because the stress of time there was so intense, he had been intent on finishing his battles quickly. His mentor had been keeping an eye on him to offer some advice here and there, but one fight in particular had caught them both off-guard. They were ambushed-- the demon itself hadn't been very powerful, but neither Raidou nor Gouto were expecting it-- and it had attacked them both and sent them flying into an hourglass in the 2010s timeline.

When Raidou finally came to his senses, he was in a world he had never even seen before. It was extremely hot, and the young Devil Summoner even considered taking off his cape for a bit, but that would expose the tubes used to contain the demons he negotiated with-- and even worse, his revolver-- and he was already receiving the strangest looks he's ever gotten in his life. He didn't have much of a choice but to continue on as is; he would just have to find a way to return to Taisho 20 as soon as he could. Even Gouto seemed as though he was having trouble with the heat, and Raidou knelt down to allow his mentor to climb and rest on his shoulder.

"Well, this is a fine mess we've gotten ourselves into," Gouto begins with a groan. "We don't have much of a choice but to see if we can't find a Nameless Shrine here. The sooner we get back to Taisho 20, the better. Narumi's going to have an aneurysm if we aren't back at the Detective Agency tonight." There's a slight pause as he finishes that last sentence, and after a few moments of silence-- Raidou believing that he's thinking of their next course of action-- he adds, "On second thought..."

"Gouto," Raidou replies with a sigh. Well, looks like Raidou's on his own if Gouto is going to wait until Narumi croaks to look for a way back. It's times like this where he's grateful that he works for a detective; it means that it shouldn't take him too long to find the nearest shrine. ... Whether or not the Herald of Yatagarasu will appear when summoned is a different story entirely, however. His investigation is made easier when he's approached by someone he doesn't recognize, and after glancing towards Gouto, his mentor gestures for him to indulge the stranger with a nod of his head.

"... You can help us, yes," he responds, raising a hand to tip his hat in greeting. "I apologize if this sounds odd, but... I'm not too sure where this is. Anything you can tell us about the area would be greatly appreciated."

Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The King of Steel || devilsummonerxiv

Steven is lazing about Slateport City today. A contest had been held here earlier in the day, and he’d sat in to support a certain friend. But once all was said and done and they bid each other farewell, he quickly discovered that… well, there wasn’t much for him to do. There was always the option of returning to the Pokemon League, but they hadn’t been receiving many challengers as of late. The idea of sitting around doing nothing while waiting for Trainers that may or may not come wasn’t very appealing, and even if they did, he’d have to hope they were skilled enough to topple the Elite Four and reach him.

Then again, it’s not like he’s having better luck here. People-watching can only entertain for so long. Perhaps his time would be better spent in Ever Grande after all. If he’s going to be stricken with boredom either way, it may as well be somewhere beneficial. Just as he decides that it’s probably time to start being an adult and go back to do his job, someone catches his eye, and he raises a brow as he observes them, his curiosity growing by the second.

Mild as the weather might be today, the young man’s getup still strikes him as kind of… excessive. Really, wearing all black in this weather? (Like he’s one to talk. But even he’s ditched his jacket and rolled up his sleeves at this point.) And is the cape really necessary? That hat’s kind of nifty, though… Was he a tourist from another region that had come here unaware of Hoenn’s climate? Maybe a Trainer, even. One that had come from a colder area… Sinnoh feels a likely candidate. Those guys are just crazy enough to stay dressed like that in a place like this. Either way, he’s never seen him around these parts before. Steven would remember a guy with sideburns like those, certainly.

He notes some confusion etched into the boy in black’s features, and he takes it as backing for his theory that he is indeed a foreigner. Ever Grande can wait a little while longer; he’d like to at least offer this one some directions. Besides, the feline that appears to be accompanying him is a source of intrigue as well. It doesn’t look like anything he’s ever seen before now…

"Is everything alright?" He calls out. "You look a little lost. Maybe I can be of service?"

SO I often wondered to myself when I would make one of these. But the thoughts that came to mind were ‘I have 3 main accounts that I often ignore but everyone on there I always seem to follow on all my accounts it would probs be stupid to make 3 small Follow Forevers’ Instead I’m gonna do this GIANT BIG ONE! The DARP and KOEI Communities have always ALWAYS made me feel at home. I love chatting and growing with you each day that passes. Every single person I interact with is precious to me. Even if you didn’t make this list never NEVER stop interacting with me. I love you all and to not show how much I do would be unfair. Raidou Kuzunoha vs. Technology || textsfromkatsuragi

Part of Raidou wondered whether he had been fed a line. The Yatagarasu had assigned him to a case in the 2010s, and while he would never doubt the ones he served, he did think he probably should have questioned where their information came from. All Raidou had gathered from the Herald's explanation was that there were demons-- or something similar to demons, anyway-- roaming around the 2010 decade. He was to travel to that timeline and investigate the matter, and if need be, exterminate the threat.

The Yatagarasu would usually ask Raidou to remain in Taisho 20, but they had become weary of threats from the future ever since Raidou the 40th tried to rewrite the past. Even if the information they received was false, Raidou had no choice but to comply and see if he couldn't find any demons wandering about. That would be all well and dandy, but it was impossible to enter the Dark Realm due to the unfortunate realization that there were no Nameless Shrines in the vicinity, and Raidou hadn't seen hide nor hair of the demons he was supposed to be looking for.

He'd been traveling all morning and early afternoon, and judging by the amount of uniformed students on the train he had taken to investigate yet another part of the city, it was probably around three or four now (He should probably get into the habit of wearing a watch, or at least make Narumi pay him with a watch one of these days). He chose to ignore most of the stares he was receiving; they were warranted, seeing as Yumizuki Imperial High School wasn't native to this city (And Raidou wasn't even sure if it still existed in the 2010s). There was also the fact that he had a katana attached to his belt, so he imagined that would probably make others wary of him, too.

Raidou made sure not to make eye contact with any of the students; he didn't want them assuming that he was going to attack them out of the blue. He mostly watched the scenery outside of the window when the train wasn't traveling through tunnels with Gouto resting on his lap, though his eyes sometimes wandered to various devices that he never saw in his own timeline. Even now, without realizing it, he was fixated on the object the raven-haired boy seated in front of him was holding. He had noticed quite a few others holding similar gadgets, and because he heard different noises from all of them-- music, the noises of something that sounded similar to the video games that Naoki told him about, and various jingles here and there-- he couldn't help but stare, wondering what they were and what they were used for.

At the very least, the boy in front of him seemed to be tapping his every few seconds for whatever reason.

Taunt: "That elderly woman outside of the agency says I should have more meat on my bones as a male, but you're even worse than I am..."

Perfect Victory: "If detectives like this are hired in the future, and they receive more business than Mr. Narumi, what does that say about Mr. Narumi...?"

Battle intro: "Two parallel selves that have achieved the title of Raidou Kuzunoha the 14th... Let's see which one of us is stronger!"

Victory: "That was a good battle; you have nothing to be ashamed of, my alternate self."

Defeat: "... Am I... really the weaker one here...?"

Assist: "Raido and I learned to Double Summon in the Akarana Corridor, so it shouldn't pose a problem for us! Let's defeat them with a Double Summon of our own!"

Taunt: "Can you really call yourself Raidou Kuzunoha when you're losing this badly?"

Reacting to Taunt: "I'll show you that my training wasn't for naught...!"

Tie: "Ahaha... I'm not sure why we thought one or the other was going to win. We're the same person; I suppose this should have been the expected result..."

Perfect Victory: "You still have a lot to learn... I was expecting more from my alternate self."

Finishing Move: "This is what the strength of Raidou Kuzunoha the 14th should feel like! This is the end for you, my alternate self!"
