Now in all seriousness, I know this comic is gonna be cathartic to a lot of people. I know it is to me. Because it breaks my heart to see someone as sweet as Pentious get used over and over as the show's punching bag. He deserves better, damnit!

Apparently, Pentious took that time in Heaven to grow a spine. Good for him, good for him.

The fact that Pen's SA (or attempted SA, however you wanna believe it went - still, we don't KNOW what happened behind closed doors, and if the show wanted us to believe they just let him go without even the slightest struggle, it could've communicated it in a way that is indisputable. I'm more willing than most to give Vivzie the benefit of the doubt on a lot of things, but given her track record of similar SA jokes, this is not one of those things) was played for laughs only for Angel to face his own abuser literal moments later has always been my biggest point of criticism.

Angel's perspective was kinda tricky to figure out because on one hand he, a repeated SA victim himself, didn't help Pentious, while on another he risked his safety to save Niffty from "sharing his fate". I tried my best to get into his brain and make sense of things, and the "you're a grown man" line ends up doing a whole lot of heavy lifting here. Unlike Niffty, whom he probably sees a bit like a child, a younger sister even, despite her being a woman in her 20s, Pentious is seen as fully capable, his implied autism (that, as some autistic people pointed out, can make him more at risk of being taken advantage of) completely disregarded. He's always been seen as the guy who "can take a few more hits". I mean, they've battled, Angel knows it first-hand.

To conclude the yapping, I can only hope I did the comic justice and that not many people will hate me for making Angel look kinda bad for now, lol. True fans know he's canonically a messy bitch 😅💜
