Old CD Cases shredded and molten into a sheet with our low cost spring powered oven mold. The crystal clear PS Material shows nicely the performance and limitations of the process. Sheet corners and surfaces are very good but there are small bubbles inside the material. Finished our semi-automatic oven system for making four recycling sheets in parallel. We used a timer controlled second-hand oven in a wooden frame, galvanized steel plates with alu-frames and spring-compression. Sheet size is 375x325×7,5mm. The height of the sheets can be varied by changing the framing. Because of the timer, the oven can start / stop automatically. So the process needs less human interaction. Making of our Gen2 mold to produce plastic sheets out of recycling flakes by baking them in an old kitchen oven. The second Generation is easier to fill and has only 4 closing screws. Instead of welded steel we used aluminium and V4A. This makes it way lighter and reduces the baking time by 30 minutes. Also one of the older projects. In the old workspace we prevented us from having stress with the neighbours by automatically turning off the milling machine when they entered their flat. Therefore we mounted small radar sensors on the ceiling and connected them to the arduino based milling controller.
