‘  I  DON’T  HAVE  DRUGS  !  ’  is  the  first  thing  that  escapes  her  mouth  ,  and  her  hands  are  trembling  ,  and  it’s  taking  all  she  has  to  keep  up  this  SUPERFICIAL  act  and  still  stick  her  nose  in  places  where  it  doesn’t  BELONG  ,  especially  in  this  area  of  the  campus  .   it  still  REEKS  of  recent  death  .   ‘  I  WAS  …  ’  georgia  bats  her  eyelashes  ,  tries  to  look  as  unimposing  as  possible  ,   ‘  investigating  …CURIOUS!i  just  …  wanted  to  see  if  it  was  haunted  or  something  .   the  crime  scene  .  ’   SHEtries  her  hardest  to  amp  up  the  ditz  —  but  even  she  looks  nervous  .

they’re   lucky   the   library   is   quiet   or   else   devon   would   be   even   more   bored   out   of   her   mind   than   she   is   now   ..   regardless,   it   feels   as   if   she’s   been   reading   the   same   thing   over   and   over   again   for   twenty   minutes   (   and   spoiler   alert:   she   has   been   ).   school   and   learning   has   never   been   her   thing   when   it   isn’t   something   she’s   not   interested   in,   spy   school   or   otherwise.   gallagher   is   better   than   prison   by   miles   upon   miles   and   she   has   to   force   herself   to   care   enough   to   realize   that   fact.   “i   don’t   think   that’s   how   that   works   ----   ‘m   more   concerned   you   think   redbull   is   good.”

nate won’t claim closeness to cyrus that didn’t exist, but there’s something uncomfortable and aching about someone he’s slept in the same room as for months just… not existing anymore. still, he doesn’t think he needs to be checked on. “i’m fine, dev. what’s up?”

“liar,”   is   what   she   signs   when   he   speaks   ----   hopefully   he   doesn’t   notice.   though   devon   supposes   nate   would   know   his   own   feelings   more   than   she   would,   but   hey,   you   never   know.   it’s   still   a   freaky   situation   all   around.   “nothin’.   just   checkin’   up   and   all,   you   know?”

“i just have way better taste than him,” esther says like it’s just a fact, which it is, because she follows fashion in literally any capacity, and ricky doesn’t at all. “so he dresses pretty basically?” she’s not surprised, most men do. “i think you just order it like normal and it’s put in… a mail room that probably exists.”

“i   think   that’s   just   a   sister   thing,”   sorry   to   nate   and   ricky   but   devon   will   simply   look   at   every   possible   way   to   knock   their   brothers   down   a   peg.   “i   guess   so?   dunno   how   basic   men   dress   but   he’s   at   like,   the   top   ten   of   whatever   that   is.”   because   she   prides   herself   in   her   appearance   ..   her   brother?   probably   not.   “you   think   so?   ‘ve   never   seen   it.”
