i think my favorite thing about the death note musical is how they characterized Ryuk. hes just rolling around the on the floor crying about how bored he is. he yells just to mess with Light because he's the only one that can hear him. he sings Misa's song. he rolls around on the floor AGAIN but this time in the middle of the tennis court. he thinks Light's dad is really cool. Light finally kills L and Rem and has Misa lose her memories and he Wins and finally claims his position as god of the new world and Ryuk is just like. "uuuuhh this is just boring again. i don't wanna do this all day. i'm just gonna kill you right here ok? ok." and my absolute FAVORITE thing is that after everyone is dead he just looks at the audience to say "there's no meaning to any of this"

°L owns a Hello Kitty bed and often curls up on it while having an existential crisis

°L is a major Sanrio fan and collector. Whenever a new merch is released, he'll have Watari go to the shop and buy it for him

°Light likes shoving a Labubu doll in L's face because he knows he hates it and would always use the excuse, "But I thought you're into this kind of things"

°Misa once tried concocting a love potion for Light but Ryuk accidentally drank it instead

°Naomi is a huge fan of L

°Matsuda and Naomi are rivaling to see who's the bigger L fan while Near and Mello laugh in the corner because they're literally his successors

°Matsuda once thought L's successors were his kids and mistakenly asked if he was the mom instead of "Who's the mom?"

°Aizawa wants to smack Matsuda hard on the head because he could go on for hours talking about how cool L is

°L once chocked on a tapioca pearl and saw Ryuk flashing before his eyes

°Sometimes Ryuk swaps Light's study notes with adult magazines

I still won't forget when my wisdom tooth got infected and couldn't sleep bc the pain was so bad and I took like 4 of those those blue gel ibuprofens and I finally fell asleep for a couple hours and kept having dreams about beautiful glowing blue animals that help you and I kept waking up thinking the blue animals will help me and realizing wait what are blue animals they aren't real and immediately falling back asleep thinking about the blue animals again

Medical Death Note AU

Light is the interventional cardiologist with a god complex. Enjoys pimping the fuck out his residents to watch them squrim. But he quickly switches up and spews some fake words of encouragement, so he's still considered likable. Has the top patient satisfaction scores.

L is the neurosurgeon who haunts the OR. Light is starting to believe he lives in the hospital and survives off of DoorDash, vending machine sodas, and graham crackers from the hospital pantry; sleeping in the doctor's lounge or whatever empty hospital bed he can find. Poor bedside manner, but he frequently orders food for all the nurses on the floor, so they’re cool with him.

Near is the neurosurgery fellow who looks way too young to be there. Doesn’t say a word and scribbles notes in a tiny pocketbook. L often forgets to send him home, so he’s very sleep-deprived. The nurses take pity on him and try to keep him alive with apple juice and turkey sandwiches.

Misa and Matsuda are OR nurses with the best surgery room playlist. The patient might be bleeding out and dying, but those beats will be bumping.

Honestly Saiki is allowed to be a bit pissy sometimes because if I had to deal with people's thoughts streaming into my head all the time I would just be so irrationally angry at everything I can't even tell you
