Every journey, no matter how splendid, must at some point come to an end. Thomas and Guy are returning home... though we certainly hope this isn't the end of their travels and we'll send them on an even more exciting trip next year!
We would like to extend our warmest, sincerest thanks to all our amazing contributors for giving Thomas and Guy a bevy of truly magnificent experiences. And, of course, for bringing such joy to all their co-travellers!
[Keep an eye for the masterlist; it will be up by the end of the day. And of course, as always, keep an eye out for any future Dexmas events!]

In which Thomas Barrow battles the difficulties of air travel and his boyfriend’s (one of) irrepresible charm. With Guy Dexter at one’s disposal how is one meant to shake off the encroaching jet lag?

In the 1930s I'm sending Thomas and Guy on vacation to heavenly Lake Como.
Has Thomas believed in his great luck by now? I'm not sure. What I am sure is that surrounded by the sun, idyllic views and with the beloved man by his side, he certainly feels on the right track.

We would like to see very much and we now have! Not only is it stunning, we are stunned at how well it moves.

I figured that since I’ve already made a pinterest board when creating a dexmas playlist, I might as well make some use of it (with a help from canva of course - I’m not that good at photoshop). So here's my tiny companion to the Hollywood Husbands visit 1980s playlist. Use it as You like!  Question - who calls whom his dear heart? I have my own headcanon, but I'm curious about your opinions. I also have a moving version if anyone would like to see:

In this installment of Thomas and Guy’s Travel Adventures our merry men make their way to Scotland. For work first of all, but also for a spot of hunting, a little bit of turning of roles and a little bit of dying on the hill of white service gloves.

We are most intrigued by what's already laid out and it's only chapter one! The last golden summer before the war for the young ones just so happens to coincide with a golden opportunity to catch all of their birds in the hand for movie producer Thomas and his still exceedingly handsome 'much more than a business partner' Guy. Truly, what could be more natural than sending those two to Cannes?
My contribution to the @dexmas-month Dexmas Travelogue
Some late 1930s grown up Sybbie and George adventures with their favourite former butler and his movie star husband.
Here's hoping I can get it done by the end of the month.

In which Thomas Barrow learns about Yorktown – as opposed to York – and encounters various American things, some of them nice, some very much not. How very lucky then that there’s few handier travel companions to have by your side than a certain Guy!

In which Gossington Hall is let at last as Thomas and Guy descend on the charming village of St Mary Mead. Where they are both joined and welcomed by a cast of most intriguing characters, some rather familiar, some part of their family.
We are told that this may or may not be an opening act to a murder mystery!

Thomas Barrow fumes a little, but in truth mostly for show; Guy Dexter just wants to go sailing and show his love a rather pretty corner of the world.
So... is anyone up for joining Thomas and Guy for a spot of sailing on Lake Tahoe?

Whoever said that holidays come only after work must have been wrong. This Guy know well where’s it at - he takes Thomas to the South of France before they even make it to Hancock Park. We are told this may not be the last adventure in this series, which definitely sparkles joy!

We are being told that a number of our fellow travellers has no intention of heading home this Saturday. And since delays naturally happen in travel, much less around the world, we've chosen to move the deadline and thus extend our fest till the end of the month!
We hope you don't mind? We rather thought not!

We must say that we are most pleased by the level of cooperation and mutual inspiration shown in the compiling of the Dexmas Travelogue!
‘Nice Days’
A holiday in the South of France…
Inspired by Regina’s artwork.
Tumblr media
It had been quite the ‘vacation’ as the Americans say. Was he an American now, he pondered, as he looked at the azure sea stretching for miles in front of the villa?
Guy said they were ‘semi-American’, an acknowledgement that while they resided in Hancock Park and worked in Hollywood, they still drunk their tea out of china cups and saucers, ate aubergines and not eggplants, and after a late night liked to wake up to a full English.
America was a long way away right now though. They left New York 4 weeks ago, crossing the Atlantic on a very smart ship, for reasons of both work and pleasure. After business meetings and theatre trips in London and an afternoon visit to Downton to say hello to Thomas’s old colleagues (Carson’s spluttering when Thomas - and Guy - walked into the kitchen was a wonder to behold), they’d travelled to the South of France for two weeks relaxation.
And Thomas was sublimely relaxed. A week in a country house surrounded by lavender fields had been followed by a stay at a villa by the sea, in Nice. The city was packed with well to do Europeans, but he and Guy had kept themselves to themselves, happy to luxuriate in the view, the food, and each other.
He once wished he could go to the South of France. And here he was. With his lover. Mind boggling how a life can change in an instant.
‘What are you smiling about darling?’
Guy appeared from the adjoining kitchen, drinks in hand.
‘How much I love this. How much I love you’.
Guy flushed, bending to kiss the top of his head. ‘I love you too darling’.
As he sat down on the whicker loveseat, he reached back and put his arm around Thomas, who leant in and rested his head on his shoulder.
As the sea sparkled and the sun shone, Thomas decided that yeah, he could get used to this.

This fic just might have us lodging an official protest. Italy? Ice cream? Wait a minute! Sending Thomas and Guy off on holiday is all well and good, but why aren’t we joining them?

It certainly seems like no page in Guy's photoalbum will be allowed to go unfilled!
In which Thomas tangles with some local fauna and really ugly hats, though the jury is out on which one of those calamities is actually worse. Yes, it’s Egypt time! We are pleased to say that this time nobody (that we know of) gets murdered on the Nile.
