I don’t know about anyone else, but I like to give my Guardians on destiny a backstory. Maybe their relationship with their Ghost is different than other Guardians. Maybe there was a certain adventure that they had. Maybe they have a crush on a certain character.  However, I have a hard time figuring out what questions I should ask to get me going. This should be helpful to any of you who want to write fanfictions about your Guardian or Guardians.

Hidden Report from CHA-319 (Chalco Yong?)

1. Before the events of the Taken War and Oryx’s devastation of the Awoken fleet, The Reef maintained an interdict on the Jovian moons, after the Taken War only Europa is still off limits because of a Vanguard interdict.

2. The files on Europa are heavily redacted, which CHA-319 believes is to encourage unsanctioned exploration of the moon.

3. Europa is extremely hazardous, with heavy radiation mangling flesh and machinery. Europa was never terraformed by the Traveler.

4. Europa’s under-ice oceans are extremely vast, and the agent believes life exists within them. However, they believe any connections to the life on Titan and Enceladus are unsubstantiated nonsense.

5. There is a heavily armed and still active Golden Age weapons platform that is unpredictably hostile to all jumpships (excluding the Eon line of junpships)

6. Despite a heavy Vex presence on Europa, there are no signs of major construction, suggesting that this is a Vex strike force.

7. With tools provided by Awoken Paladin Kamala Rior, Europa is detected to have a large concentration of dark matter, suggesting interest from the Nine. Xûr is commonly suspected to be the repossessed corpse of a Jovian colonist. There are no known records of colonies on Europa.

8. There are no signs of Ahamkara on Europa.

9. Europa is a traditional stopover for Fallen raiders tanking up on reaction mass. Mithrax states a taboo no-go area concerning the aforementioned weapons platform, suspected to be of Vex origin. Mithrax states fears of “something that cannot be stolen from”.

10. Many Exos have fragmented memories concerning ice sheets and Jupiter in the sky. Europa is a likely candidate for the location of these memories.

11. The tools proved by Paladin Rior are extremely unreliable in the vicinity of Europa, the cause is unknown.

12. Unsubstantiated, but something about the images and lore of Europa the agent has gathered makes them uneasy, cause unknown.

13. The agent believes the interdict on Europa should be lifted, citing that lifting the interdict on Luna resulted in a series of decisive victories and gathered intelligence, even if it did summon Oryx and his Dreadnaught (implied to be where Ghaul got the light-suppressing tech from).

Although the agent and Ikora Rey tried to lift the interdict, this motion was shot down, reason unknown due to compartmentalized information.

Exo Stranger in Destiny 2- Beyond Light Reveal Trailer.

The Taken War is such a funny era in Destiny's history for me bc u have Oryx. This. Primordial fossilized God and Syllogism to death and the termination of autonomy and hope, a being who could have crushed Dominus Ghaul with his bare hands and Taken Calus himself, and like.

The dude LOSES ultimately to the assembled forces of Sol bc. He's SO goddamn pissed off at Mara Sov for even having the AUDACITY to shoot at his fleet, he throws the tactical equivelent of a deity-sized hissy-fit and nukes his own fleet just to get rid of her in 5 minutes instead of spending maybe five HOURS to beat her the old fashion way, and, because of that, he can no longer really travel further into Sol bc he just. Killed roughly 90% of the subordinate troups, vessels, and generals under him bc He Had To Be Petty.

And then. And THEN. You find out in Destiny 2 that Oryx was SO FUCKING PISSED AND INSULTED by Mara and the Awoken pestering him that he wastes a MASSIVE amount of time detouring with Echoes and Hive platoons en force to Take the ENTIRE Dreaming City and devastate big parts of the Reef.

This man deadass saw Mara Sov once for maybe ten minutes, forgot all about his actual goals, his need for vengeance, and his growing, rapidly nearing critical shortage of tribute and tithe to feed his Worm and said "oh yes I COULD spend my time calling a backup escort so i could take my Dreadnaught to Earth, devastate the Last City, carve the Traveler like a rotted gourd, slit the throat of the Young Wolf and their fireteam while they were sleeping, and harvest every single life in the System with its mightiest defenders gone.

But. But. BUT. I think I will shit on everything Mara Sov has ever loved or held dear instead bc I hate her and I think her hair is stupid and she wrecked some of my ships, which only me and my sisters are allowed to do."

King of being petty and dramatic. Evil goth himbo. Absolute legend. Oryx was an awful person but but his dedication to pettiness was beyond legendary and also funny as hell.

He even stole Mara's manipulative pet monitor lizard for no reason other than shear spite. Amazing.

Destiny community has been a car crash before but now it’s a “I can’t look away” level of car crashes.

Sexual misconduct by numerous big personalities of the community, BSK falling apart due to their racism homophobia ddosing doxxing sharing nudes of women and underage women and of what transpired at GuardianCon at their house (too fucked to reveal here), a notable member of the community being revealed to be a catfish (as in, she simply didn’t exist), claims that someone gambled charity money in vegas, dmg taking back a lot of MOTW emblems due to a lot of recipients being racist, some other big PVP clans being outed as being just the absolute worst, people blaming their age for their misconduct, people in general failing at apologizing for their actions
