Okay I JUST realized I never posted these on here—- BUT BASICALLY, about a year and a half ago I started doing these experimental black hairstyle posts that were threads long on Twitter, to give artists a source of inspo for their black ocs whose hair they wanted to try something new with! There’s more to black hair than just the selected styles portrayed in media, and I thought it would be fun to show people how much texture, shape, fades, length, and style can be combined when drawing black hair—-cause it’s a kind of manipulation our hair can do irl! The OG thread from when I made these a year ago were lost with the hacking of my original Twitter account (@/bagels_donuts) but I’ve since reuploaded the whole thread to my new Twitter (@/ItsDonutsFR)! Hey everyone, I know it's going to be a busy day for a lot of people, but Google enrolled everyone over 18 into their AI program automatically.

If you have a google account, first go to gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off.

Then you need to go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and turn off all Gemini activity tracking. You do have to do them in that order to make sure it works.

Honestly, I'm not sure how long this will last, but this should keep Gemini off your projects for a bit.

I saw this over on bluesky and figured it would be good to spread on here. It only takes a few minutes to do.

i’ve been trying to teach myself how to draw and your art has been a huge inspiration for me, do you have any tips on how to do line art like you do?

to be quite honest i try to avoid doing proper lineart whenever possible! it used to be a prominent feature of my art but I realized i just kinda felt miserable doing it. any lines you see are either painted on top, the sketch, or im doing something heavily stylized so I'll just show my process & share some general tips!

I try to stay as loose as possible and let myself leave in some mistakes as if I were inking with a real pen and paper. Another thing I recommend is playing around with whatever brushes and seeing what sticks! I prefer a much more textured gritty line over something super smooth but that isnt for everyone so playing around with different options is ideal

Also will leave some external resources under the cut!

FRAMED INK: book about comic/storyboarding composition but still has some bits in there about how different inking techniques can change the mood of a scene.

GUIDE TO SPOTTING TANGENTS: Self explanatory. Tangents can be a real pain when it comes to lineart so its best to learn What they are and How to spot them

How does Prisma use his quirk in combat? Whats his fighting style? (Im working on a thing and I need to know!)

he tries to avoid combat but whenever he has to do it he’d usually go with versatile but elegant and resource-saving weapons like crystal rapiers, swords and whips; it’s his way of convincing people (and maybe himself) that hey, he’s still chill and logical, he’s winning this in heels and no one can stop him

When he loses his cool he begins using simpler techniques like a crystal needle barrage attacks or just pummeling adversaries with his crystal growths!

he can make a huge barrier if needed though it takes a lot of time to make and isn’t that helpful in most situations. It’s Really Just Pretty in general.
