Final Solution
Thank you for sticking around till the final solution.
In the process we came to know about some numbers and the hardships faced by the women who are willing to work and who are forced by destiny to work. Here is an interactive solution to their problem.
SVATAH
Tumblr media
This is a platform which will build the gap between people and the organizations which provide. There are a lot of NGOs, organizations and community groups who provide jobs, unfortunately not a lot of women know about it. This is what exactly Svatah will do. It will make people reach out to the organization exactly according to their needs. May it be knitting, or office work. The motive of Svatah is to provide jobs to women in need.
This is for women and therefore gender discrimination will not be there. Women will be independent and a lot many financial problems will be solved.
Role And Function of Svatah
Tumblr media
We bridge the gap between women and the industry
We make a pool of jobs, and opportunities for women who need help and resources.
We run timely surveys and keep record of women and their employment with the help of government bodies and initiative.
We spread awareness about upskilling, employment with the help of NGO volunteers.
And We make them independent.
Flow of System
Tumblr media
User Scenario: The user has no prior working experience, she doesn’t know what kind of work she should to support her family.
Steps:
She asks about jobs and other resources to her family members, relatives, neighbors and friends.
She asks help from mahila police Kendra, Mahila Shakti Kendra and other bodies who keep a check on women’s safety in rural areas.
Reaches out to - “Svatah” through her relatives and other initiatives
Identifies her skill set through assessments provided by Svatah.
The user now has skill sets and jobs she can do according to it.
Svatah assigns a volunteer to the user
The volunteer helps her to get onboarded into her new job.
The user successfully joins the job and starts earning money.
Giving feedback about the job to Svatah via volunteers
Add more women to the community and help each other grow.
Feature of Website:
Tumblr media
A map feature, for industry around the areas. It will be linked by Adhaar card, her phone number etc.
An assessment of the women for knowing what they love.
Helpline numbers for women.
Campaigns run by the organization.
Assigning volunteers to each women for support.
Creating groups for women living in same places.
An option to switch their jobs for sometime.
Getting reward to add more women to the community.
Location for centers of the organization.
The usage will be helpful and easy for the users. It will be the recruiters responsibility to open a bank account for the people working there. Also the working women will have their details on the dashboard and it will be the recruiters responsibility to reach out to them for jobs. Further when selected the recruiters can take tests if the candidates are suitable for the job or not. Even the woman can apply for the any job that she likes and will be able to do.
Impact of our solution:
It will help India to achieve sustainable development through 3 SDG goals
SDG 5 - Gender Equality
SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth
SDG 10 - Reduced inequalities.

Svatah
Tumblr media
After brainstorming for hour and hour we came up with a final concept.
SVATAH
This will be a platform which will bridge the gap between the NGO, foundations, organizations and the people who are seeking jobs.
There are a lot of people who lost either their jobs or the bread owners of the family. These people are not looking for jobs which will suit them. This Ladies platform will surely empower them and encourage them to be strong and independent.
How will SVATAH function?
Svatah will ask the NGO’s, organizations and foundation to reach out to a particular place and spread awareness among the people. Also women can reach out the Svatah office looking for jobs and they will redirect you towards the correct recruitment company that you are looking for and can give you good opportunities.
Color palette
The brand is designed in a very Indian way, easy for rural people to understand it well and so that they don’t just avoid thinking it is difficult. The palette is the shades of earthy browns which exactly matches to the Indian aesthetics.
Tumblr media
Font Used:
The font used is poppins. the font is sturdy and delicate at the same time.
Tumblr media
Stay tuned for the upcoming final solution.

Pain points and HMU
Tumblr media
The user is the main stakeholder in an interactive design project. Whether the model will work or not everything depends upon the user and its flow. Before getting into further details of the product we recognized some of the pain points that our user segment is facing. working on those we will further define our product.
Pain points are:
Don’t want their time to get wasted
does a lot of things but feels incomplete
gets fired due to gender inequality
does not have a job security
Not getting a job appropriate to her qualification
The salary offered is less in comparison to the work expected
no time for family members.
After these pain points there are questions starting from “how”. The answer to these questions will collective help us build a product for the betterment and empowerment of women.
HMU (How Might We) question:
How should we provide employment?
How should we unite women?
How should we give them a chance to connect to other people?
How to provide motivation and support?
How to give them industry oriented jobs based on skills?
How to make them reach out to women oriented community groups?
After working on the pain points and the HMU questions we get a base and more or less a solution which we have to refine further.
Stay tuned for the upcoming stage of this project.

Upscaling Women
Tumblr media
While researching about people getting unemployed due to Covid-19 corona virus we can across many eye opening facts and thought of people that were recorded by some research papers. Women always have been an important part of our economic which Asian men do not accept easily. This caused a huge threat to women rights and also to their jobs.
Talking about the number,  women’s jobs are 1.8 times more vulnerable to this crisis than men’s jobs. They make up to 39 percent of global employment but account for 59 percent of overall job losses which is more than half. The major reason for this fall is because they are expected to take unpaid care which obviously increased due to the virus.
As covid increased the families started staying at their home and the responsibility used to lie with the lady of that house and she started spending more time with her family member. A good noticeable number of women got married during this pandemic and even the refused to get back to work whereas the men continued their routine. After a while when the planned to get back, there were no vacancies available. There are some traditional mindsets as well which also adds up to a reason why women are not able to work after pandemic. For example According to the global World Values Survey, People from many countries in South Asia and MENA agreed that men have more right to work then women when the jobs are scarce.
With around 230 million new job opportunities for women globally there are very less women who are able to take advantage.
Looking at my mother I always felt that she can do anything. She was supporting our family financially when my father was not doing good with his business and at the same time she was great at parenting as well. As I grew up I realized that its not just my mother but any women can stand up for her family and herself as well. The only need is to empower them and I am sure Team Jakers will be able to do justice with this topic.
Stay tuned for upcoming snippets of this project.

The Hustle of Topic Selection
Tumblr media
At 11:45 we received our brief for Design Inspire Designathon 2021 and it was pretty open and interesting. The topic was none other than the problems faced due to covid-19. Yes, it was that one thing which made our lives vulnerable for almost 2 years.
Team Jakers started doing research on the topic and from the pool of problems we shortlisted 3 major problems that we can work on. The problems were based on behavioral design which was based on kids, skill development was for women after pandemic and quality education was for students. Having 2 girls and 2 boys in the group obviously invites for some kind of debate. After doing that excessively we finally concluded over one decision. And guess who won?! Yes obviously, It was the girls.
Behavioral design is a very vast topic and everyone being unaware of how the kids behave and how they actually are, we dropped that idea of ours. Moving on to the next idea we realized that the education sector is saturated with a lot of ideas and maybe now the concern regarding that is less as many schools are resuming in physical mode and so this was also rejected. And as mentioned before after having a huge debate on why only women should have a platform to find jobs we concluded that we should be doing this project on skill development and job finding for women who lost their jobs in pandemic or are willing to work after.
Stay tuned for further reasons on why the solution should be only for women!
