My biggest grip that i had with DL Fandom is how they treated Yui. I always witness how people called her Yui Stupid for not running away or defending herself, calling her useless and even victim blame her when one of the brothers or any other vampir bite her. Thing is, she tried to get away from them but whenever she tried to run away they always stop her by blocking her path. She couldn't contact anyone because, yk, her phone got destoyed by subaru infront of her, they also destroyed their phonelines so that SHE can't use them and even if she tried to call anyone, like for example the scene where she tried to call her Father in a phone booth, Laito SOMEHOW Got into the phoneline and was instead the one who recieve the call so she couldn't call the police or her father. And even she tried to defend herself, the vampires could've hurt her and possible kill her without a Problem. I also hate the fact how people ignore the abuse that is going throught and even romanticize the shit that the boys are doing to her. In the anime the abusive was bad but in other media, it was even worse

THIS, THIS LIST SHOWS THE AMOUNT OF ABUSE SHE IS TAKEN FROM THE SAKAMAKI'S, THE TSUKINAMI'S AND THE MUKAMI'S.

The worst thing about it is how people would also hate on people who like yui and even shunning them if they defend Yui. I can remember one time when i got questioned why i liked yui from my rp partners and when i explained to them why i liked her, did they shitted on her about how dumb she is and how she didn't even try to run away. It didn't escelated fortunately but i did feel pretty bad that i liked Yui as a character.

LITERALLY! It also boggles my mind how people rightfully call out the diaboy's behavior, yet they still insist that Yui's weak and helpless. It's also stated in the first game that if Yui tried to run away, the Sakamakis would've killed her, but Rejet casually ignored that fact, as well as ignoring that the Sakamakis have a room full of dead brides, just to make their relationship work in the later games. And some of the fans eat that garbage writing up. When she also called one of the church members in the first game, they ignored her, so she can't even call for help. She's literally in a situation where escaping isn't an option, but no one thinks about that because "the diaboys are actually sad" RUKI KILLED A KITTEN FOR NO JUSTIFIABLE REASON!

I think Yui's pretty boring in the anime, but that's because she only shows one emotion, fear, throughout the show. In the first game's prologue, Yui is quite mouthy to the Sakamakis (good for her), but when she enters a route, she becomes more and more quiet and submissive because she can't do much about the situation she's in.

Also, thank you for pointing out that the diaboys rape Yui at one point, because the writers and fans casually ignore that.

DL fans trying to excuse the series:

I also remember someone saying “Well, Rejet has done worse games” as if A. That absolves DL of criticism, and B. you’re just proving that Rejet is a shit company who needs to be put down.

This post isn’t talking about all DL fans, mind you, just some of the more…obsessed ones who defend the abusers. But, most of you guys are adults, I’m sure you knew that already. I hope…
