The problem with having a child with an attorney that has spoken to the child like an adult since birth is that she's 4 years old and she's negotiating the order in which we're going to complete tasks as a family to best suit her idea of an ideal day.

Disclaimer: yes I'm a Lars hater, it's whatever
I'm not very excited about the new Steven Universe series in development. Cuz the series is nearly perfect, and they don't need to ruin it by adding something unnecessary 馃槱 we already had the Spinel story be a movie when it really should have been an episode [arc] of the Future season. Like if you're dead set on making a spin off, make a prequel. Show us the origins of the Diamonds, or explore the Homeworld caste system, or show gem society and their various powers and what the different ruins on earth used to be used for, or show the first gem wars on earth (or even elsewhere), show us Lion's origin story, or show us more about the Pearls--there is a literal universe of lore to get into!!!
Or if you HAVE to do a sequel, follow Sadie and Shep while they tour, or actually show Connie in college and trying to be a regular human after her gem experiences, or even follow a different Rose Quartz as she explores earth and have her deal with other Pink-Diamond's-new-identity consequences that Steven didn't run into for whatever reason. Literally so many more interesting ways to go than following fucking LARS.
Him becoming a gem zombie was honestly such a wonderful comeuppance. Like as much as the show is about people growing and getting second chances, the show is also super real, and there are some people who won't change no matter how many chances they get, like Jasper in Future. And Lars was a great example of that from the OG series. I know a kids show can't actually kill him off, but gem zombie was a good second. Because he DID die, canonically, as the result of his cowardly, selfish choices that got him to Homeworld in the first place. His best contribution and his only real redemption was his death. It be like that sometimes.
So following his intergalactic adventures now undermines that point, at least for me 馃槓

So my bestie just dropped this absolute line:
"Dramaturgy is sociology for stories instead of people"
And when I tell you I am *on the floor* from how much that resonated

I'm pretty sure whoever came up with the "tie a bit of string on your finger to remember stuff" thing had AuDHD because the number of times I intentionally put things in the wrong place to trigger some kind of reminder is more than zero
