So my friends got me into Sky: Children of the Light, while my Dad ended up dragging me deeper into the Star Wars fandom than I've ever been before by watching 'The Clone Wars'.

Now, with all of Star Wars' talk of light vs. dark and all, it got me thinking about the light vs. dark sort of thing in Sky. Which inevitably led my fanfiction addicted brain to Ao3 to look for a crossover of the two.

There was only one problem with that. There aren't any.

There's also shockingly no Subnautica/Star Wars crossovers, (which almost makes LESS sense because Subnautica already involves space travel, so all you really need to do is get your chosen character/s to the planet.

So I guess I'm the one who has to get my hands dirty and make those ideas reality. Except I'm hardly reliable with writing one fanfiction, let alone two or more. So I've decided that instead of just letting my ideas rot away, I'll post some of them here so that someone who wants to work with it can have a go at it! And so my ideas don't just rot away sitting in my brain with nowhere to go

So, first up, we have our Subnautica/Star Wars fic ideas/prompts!

Dump a character or multiple characters on the planet 4546B and take your plot from there.

Something about the force and the Sea Emperor Leviathan.

And now for the Sky: CotL/Star Wars crossover prompts!

Get your favourite Star Wars character and make them adopt a stray sky kid.

The Skywalker's are sky kids or part sky kid – Why? Because the name just fits ridiculously well.

Anakin Skywalker is a Sky Kid – He only has his mother and literally has no father... so take that and run with it, I guess (this can also be a part of the 2nd prompt if you want)

Ok, grab your favourite Clone Trooper this time and make them adopt a Sky Kid. If your chosen clone dies at all during the series, then you have a free "lets revive them as a sky kid" or a "their sky kid saves them somehow" pass. Or you can just choose to suffer, I guess...

Revive a character as a Sky Kid – it doesn't matter if they died in canon or not.

This is a kinda specific prompt, but the idea was kinda funny to me. Revive Anakin after he dies and make him a sky kid version of his 9 year old self and then sic him on Luke or something (you can also revive Obi-Wan in the same way if you want but they would both have to be kid sized for the maximum possibility of small bean chaos) everything else is up to you!

I wonder whether they get reincarnated or not because there must be so many souls there otherwise and it would probably get really overcrowded. Or maybe they can chose to exist in certain places at any particular time? Or, perhaps there are even different 'levels' or layers in which a layer of reality is lain upon the next from which the spirits can traverse from easily so that they have more space in the same space if that makes sense?

But who am I to say? I am no expert on the afterlife and maybe even souls fade with time. No one will really ever know. Except for Death itself (themself?)

So I’ve discovered procreate’s “timelapse” function

As an Australian let me tell you that those fires were terrifying even if you were no where near them. But, afterwards it almost seemed like the wildlife was doing even better then before! My family and I even went up to a bushfire affected area (it was mostly outback and bush up there) and I took some photos. The most stunning thing about the experience was difference I saw. You see we have been bush walking up there once, before the fires, so I had before and after images (albeit of different area's up there but the post-fire photo's were taken from the car park.

I also have an image that shows just how close the fire got to someone's property (while I was really just getting a photo of the tree you can still see how close the fire got to completely destroying that mailbox). All the houses here were both really lucky and had dedicated firefighters working to contain the blaze.

I want to collectively thank all of those dedicated people who volunteered to help out and the people who do this every single day to help out our communities. And I would also like to pay my respects to those who lost their lives in the fight to save others. It may have been a little over a year since the Bushfires occurred but we shall always remember the courage and determination it took to get us through it all.

I may not be anyone important or special and I may not have any qualifications for this but I'm sure I speak for every other Australian who had to live through this when I say this but thank you.

I like how they didn't just take the cup and leave the poor thing unprotected and instead gave the little octopus something better to protect it's self. The diver better have picked up that cup and disposed of it properly or I will be upset... I think I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt though because they were trying to get the octopus out of the cup in the first place...

I honestly doesn't matter how you find it fun as long as you don't forget that it is only all for fun and you don't push yourselves to the point where your NOT finding it fun. That's what's important here.

And because I found what you all enjoy about writing fanfiction interesting I thought I might share what I enjoy about it!

What I find fun is writing collaboratively with one of my friends, because if one gets stuck the other can help and it also goes much faster than if I was writing on my own and it's far more enjoyable anyway! It certainly is interesting to hear how other people find fanfiction enjoyable to write and I enjoy hearing it.

the seriousness of fanfic writing

I have seen over and over again how serious fanfic authors are now taking their content and of course I take mine seriously as well but I’ve literally, just 2 seconds ago (?) had this epiphany, you could even call it a reminder, that at the end of the day fanfiction doesnt have much riding on it - if you’re more well known obviously you want your readers to enjoy whatever you put out and you want to get better and better but sometimes when I’m writing I wish I could just put out what I know is shitty and move on to make something better when you’re writing novels you throw away the story you don’t want to tell when you’ve hit a dead end but with myself I test what I want to write by uploading it so a story could start out amazing and end up not meeting my standards but I wont just abandon it for the readers that are invested what the whole point of these ramblings are YOU DO NOT NEED TO STRESS SO HARD ABOUT FANFICTION the whole reason I make fanfic is for fun, its suppose to be for fun that’s the whole reason its for free and I forget that pretty often but hopefully this will also be a reminder for people who are like me
