DIANA ELIZABETH CARLISLE:

fitzgerald & johanna carlisle where lit a perf couple?? they married fresh out of high school. he'd become a police offcier after graduating from the police academy and she had worked at luke's diner.

four years into their marriage, they were having a hard time getting pregnant. they'd tried what they could afford, but johanna had been diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) which is a hormonal imbalance that interferes with normal ovulation. despite the medication she was taking to help the matter, she was still having a difficult time trying to get pregnant and the couple decided that they would, instead, adopt. although johanna continued to take her medication, the couple reviewed many cases of adoptions in and around stars hollow until an adoption worker had connected them with a baby whom had been left at the hospital. finding out that the baby was a twin was a big blow to them. they'd always wanted a big family but didn't think that they could handle two newborns right off the bat and chose to only adopt one of the babies; naming him fitzgerald as well.

things were relatively blissful for the couple and their son. they chose not to tell him that he was adopted and continued on their way with things & johanna quit her job to stay at home with their son.

when fitz was five years old, johanna found out that she was pregnant. it came as a shock to the couple, but they couldn't have been more excited. they followed all precautions and eventually, gave birth to their daughter, diana.

diana looked up to her brother ?? like it might sound like a cliche but she absolutely adored him and she would consider him to be her best friend.

growing up, diana participated in ballet for a v. short amount of time but it wasn’t for her. she didn’t like the tutu or the leotard and r e f u s e d to put it on. instead, she stayed home and helped her mother around the house.

the idea of teaching had always appealed to diana. when she entered middle and high school, she worked her hardest to get good grades. she graduated in her junior year due to having the credits she needed and got a scholarship to a great college a few hours away but she chose instead attend community college in hartford, just a few miles away, so that she could remain close to her family.

after she & fitz moved out, her parents took in a foster child who likely around 16 now! (this may be a wanted connection later on, though we’d likely age her up to be played.)

diana got her undergraduate degree in teach and ?? this is lit. her second year teaching kindergarten. 

she’s v. family oriented !! absolutely adores her sister-in-law and her little nephew.

she LOVES children but suffers from the same thing her mother had, so it’s unlikely she will have any of her own and she’s still trying to cope with that tbh.

bby is a sweet cinnamon roll and ?? wants to befriend everyone. also talks too much, too fast && is constantly anxious.
