my blog is an ode to black femmes everywhere, to black lesbianism, and an ode to myself. i can barely put into words how much my black, femme, lesbianism has granted me so much freedom of expression - not just in how i present physically (that’s a big part of it), but also in my emotional, mental, and spiritual expression.

black lesbianism has shown me that femininity doesn’t have to be limiting. i don’t have to dumb myself down of feign helplessness in order to receive kindness or respect. i can be loud, opinionated, hard-headed - i can be “too much.” i can be everything our whitecishetero-centric society tells me women shouldn’t be. i can be ambitious and handle my shit and still be feminine because those traits aren’t inherently masculine, and even if that does make me masculine in the eyes of society, so what now? is that a crime? who really cares.

all i know is, this black femme lesbian doesn’t allow societal boxes to prohibit her from doing what needs to be done, and being hot and sexy while doing it. my black, lesbian femininity is disruptive, gentle, and beautiful all in one. i love love all my black femmes everywhere we truly are the blueprint for this shit.
