This is a great injustice. Racism is an important issue for feminists, and we MUST endeavour to educate ourselves as much as possible as to the various ways in which issues of race and racism empowers the patriarchal system and encourages multiple layers of oppression! Only by understanding can we really learn how to dismantle the oppressive layers. We must stand united with all oppressed groups! As feminists we can no longer remain only focused on women’s issues. This does not mean that we should give up the gender equality cause, but rather it means that we recognize that we live in a world where all politics is connected, and all injustices are linked, and that true gender equality only comes when oppressed people stand united against the patriarchy. Together we are much stronger!
