I need to listen to the artifact podcast but IMO reckless handling is an example of what red needs MORE and part of its pie. It needs tutoring and to be good at doing something others can't. Tutor for artifacts? Awesome. Tutor for Planeswalker? Even better. Red has truthfully been ignored for so long in that department (and in many others) that it is behind all other colors.
Red is not supposed to be good at tutoring. It’s the color that does the least amount of advanced planning.
It can tutor for some specifically red subsets, which includes equipment, but not all artifacts.
#It's a difficult skill to master when you listen to this kind of feedback and when you are confident in your own design#Have plenty of experience with playtesters assuming an intentional choice is a mistake

Important to note among the itch drama: you gotta pressure payment processors to undo the same bans applied to Patreon, Gumroad, OF, and the many adult sites they already hit in the years leading up to this, too.
It CANNOT stop with itch.
Like y'all please don't abandon this if banned games come back— sex workers and adult artists have been under fire by this shit for the past couple years already.
Don't leave folk to dry if you get itch and steam fixed.

I know everything is shit fucked sixteen ways before lunch time, but it remains a fact that you should not trust anyone who wants you to feel like the whole world hates you all the time. That's a person trying to sell you something, swallow you whole, or bleed you dry. Especially those times when it feels like they're right.
No one wants anything good from you who wants you always feeling scared and hated. They will wear you out and leave you in the bin the second fashions change. Things are extremely high levels of fucked, but you are not hated like that. It's scary and isolating but you are not alone like that. Worst case, come and shiver like a wet dog with me, I won't say anything and we can dry out.

Yesterday, more than 50 Texas House Democrats left the state to block Texas House Republicans’ gerrymandered map. Texas lawmakers returned to the legislature on July 21st, with flood relief at the top of their legislative priorities. But since then, they've held one single hearing on flood relief. Instead, they rammed through a heavily gerrymandered map personally demanded by Trump, with the express goal of creating five new Republican seats so his party won’t get wiped out in next year’s midterms. The map guts the voting power of Black and Latino Texans and entrenches Republicans’ rule even more. Redrawing maps usually only happens at the beginning of the decade after the Census is conducted – but when Trump says jump, Texas Republicans say how high. As long as Texas Democrats remain out of the state, the Texas House cannot conduct any business, including voting on Trump’s map. Let’s be clear: they aren’t running away from anything. They’re fighting, with every tool at their disposal, to save our democracy. And their courage is rattling Republicans: Governor Greg Abbott says he will attempt to remove them from office if they don’t return today and threatened them with felony charges. Kudos to Texas Democrats for taking this stand. We must all support them however we can in their battle against Trump’s authoritarianism. Their courage is a potent reminder that tyranny is only possible if we submit to it.

Helpful and Preventative Stretches for Writers, Artists, and Gamers 💪🎨✍🎮
If you type, write, draw, game, or generally use your hands a lot (especially if you’re prone to RSI or Carpal Tunnel!) try these stretches as both a preventative measure, and on the spot relief. Take care of yourself and your body, friends!
Start with hands up, fingers stretched out. Stretch your thumb as far as you can over your palm. Hold and repeat 4 times.
Touch each finger to your thumb. Hold each for 30 seconds. Repeat on each hand 4 times.
Start with a fist. Open half way, hold for 2 seconds. Stretch fingers out, hold for 2 seconds. Repeat 4 times.
Start with one arm out, palm up. Pull your fingers back with your other hand. Hold for 10 seconds. Do the same with your other hand. Repeat 4 times
Start with arms up, palms out. Bend wrists down until you feel the stretch, but keep your fingers loose. Hold 10 seconds. Bend wrist upwards, until you feel it in your wrist and arm. Hold 10 seconds. Repeat 4 times.

Hey guys let me tell you about advance fee scams
I hope y'all are familiar with these in this day and age, especially my artists out there, because they're incredibly common.
About half an hour ago I posted a drawing and tagged it #artists on tumblr, and very quickly received this comment.
My scam radar went off immediately, due to the generic blog name and lack of any emotion in the comment, but I decided it might be an entertaining venture so I dmed them. They asked for a drawing "of these", and sent me a random selfie. I got the details and told them it would be $15, and they promptly offered me $300. At this point I know it's a scam, but I play along for funsies and give them my paypal. Shortly, they send me this image for "confirmation" (I blocked out my email)
And they began to insist that I checked my email. I looked in my spam folder and found the following email.
This is fake. This is not a thing. And the "you're to refund the $200.00 back" is the scam. They send vaguely official-looking emails at you to "prove" that they sent you the money, then have you send them $200 (or however much the scam is for). Then, surprise surprise, you're out $200.
I continued to play along for a bit, and in the second email "Paypal" told me that I had to refund the $200 before they could "credit the $300 to my account", along with these lovely threats.
And yeah, it's silly. But it's not silly if you don't know and get scammed. So. Spread, please! And thank you very much to @mlaurel for the opportunity to get these screenshots.

the People cheer to see their god-forged Champion of war stride across the battlefield, eight and a half feet of gilt-bronze muscle, shaved-brass curls cascading down to her thighs. her shoulders flex, her tegmina part, and her Semiotic Flare Projectors slide out, great filmy orichalcum fins that unfold to double, and then triple, her height, shivering wetly for a moment before stiffening to attention as they come online. test patterns flare across their lengths in fiery magenta-yellow-cyan, rippling stripes, starbursts and arrows, and then lettering: not prayers to Debok Moom or a mocking avete vos thrown at the chittering gremlinized horde, but her own name, in elegant Old Realm cuneiform, in swirling Autochthonic calligraphy, in Mercenary alphasyllabics. Brazen Incandescence Howitzer. Brazen Incandescence Howitzer. the soldiers are screaming it now, beating their shields with every pulse, hammering their pikes upon the ground.

there's been a bunch of buzz about switching/dumping streaming services lately for a lot of reasons, which feels like a good time to mention: this friday (august 1st) is a bandcamp friday!
for the uninitiated, bandcamp friday means the site doesn't take their usual cut, and the artist you're buying from gets it all. it's like an inverse of spotify's business model.
moving away from streaming services costs some convenience, of course, but it's also a lot harder for the whims of a platform or payment processor to zap a folder full of mp3s off of your devices! consider it!
