                                                   I’M MOVING   /  REBRANDING !

i know i’ve mentioned this before on this blog, a few months ago ( though the posts were deleted after a hot sec, bc i’m not fond of having a lot of ooc on my own blogue ashjdadgs ), but i no longer feel as comfortable about the mcu’s treatment of elektra’s backstory and agency as i did when i first picked her up as a muse. so, i’m going to be doing a rather large overhaul of my overall portrayal, grounding her in more 616 material. what does the move mean in specifics, then ? :

i’ll be transitioning to a portrayal that is more mixed canon than it is mcu - orientated. as said above, my mainverse / mainverse arcs will be primarily influenced by the 616 comics. i’ll also be changing my fc to i.liana p.apageorgiou. 

mcu - oriented verses and arcs will still be available on the new blog. both timeline compliant and divergent, though elektra’s backstory will undergo changes to accommodate my fc change and more influences of 616. if my partners are comfortable, i’d be more than happy to continue to the plots / dynamics that we’ve already established here. multiple aus are fun !

threads that already have a few back - and - forths will likely be dropped, unless my partners would kindly tell me if they would like to continue them via ims or s.kype / d.iscord. starters and replies to starters that i owe will be posted on the new blog.

WARJOURNALING.

    ELEKTRA NATCHIOS IS AN INTERESTING WOMAN.   PERHAPS INTERESTING IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT,  FOR SOMEONE LIKE HER.  He imagines how their collaborations went,  her and Red,  and it’s a more amusing mental picture than he’d like to admit.  She’s interesting but this isn’t ideal;  he has a war to wage and he doesn’t quite enjoy the idea of enlisting anymore help.   He wants to make it very clear that this is not what he wants to be doing and does,  really,   and so does she.  The judgment in her gaze doesn’t escape him,  the patronizing lift of her tone,  though that may just be her.  He doesn’t care either way,  doesn’t at all,  just wants the Yazuka gone,  wiped out.

He stands at his full height,  exhale escaping as he cleans the gun on the table,  methodical and precise.  “Not exactly a secret anymore,  lady.   I’ll worry about watchin’ my own back,  alright?   You tell me what we should do.  I’m warning you,  though  –  I don’t play any games.  I’m not interested in playing any games.   Got it?”   A pause.  “I don’t think a trap’s a bad idea,  no?”

     no games, he had warned. had they time  &  better circumstances, would he be as to the point as he is now ?  maybe so.  &  even then, she would know better than to bite at the boundaries given. her masks worn fall to the floor, without a sound  &  without a fuss. she gives a slight nod in acceptance. their allyship would, at the very least, be made a little more endurable, this way                    not quite a body that moves in sync, in trust to any command  ;  not quite dysfunctional either. she is willing to try, if he is as well.

     standing, arms akimbo, she positions herself right in front of him. he is statuesque                several inches taller than she. built larger, too. but her eyes upon his are unwavering,  &  so is her tone.    ❝  a trap doesn’t sound bad at all. but before we have any ideas, let’s not forget that they’ll react to the stunt you pulled. security will be tightened at every place they own  &  we simply don’t know how many of the hand will be deployed.  ❞   the hunted  /  the hunters  :  what do they have, if they have not numbers, time, or resources ?   ❝  our only advantage is that they won’t expect we’re working together.  ❞

CLASSEACT.

              the   smirk   balanced   upon   his   expression   is   one   painstakingly   obvious   display   of   smugness .     despite   the   warning   within   her   tone   he   knows   by   her   expression   that   it’s   closer   to   hollow   than   a   threat .      `&   perhaps   the   notion   of   potential   danger   is   exciting   to   him ,        ❝          a   very   good   memory  ,     by   the   sounds   of   it .            ❞ 

     the   teasing   jest   of   his   voice   is   something   he   supports   with   a   low  ,      thoughtful   hum .     as   an   added   measure  ,     he   also   leans   forward   ——————–     EVER   SO   SLIGHTLY   INTO   HER   PERSONAL   SPACE .       ❝          didn’t   you   know   i   make   a   living   out   of   overthinking  ?           ❞

     hypotheticals encircle them. in this moment, there are choices that could lead to different               yet perhaps not dissimilar               outcomes. for example :  she could lean in further still, leave a kiss that may only widen the smirk upon his features,  &  they could end this encounter tangled in a hotel room’s sheets once more.  /  or she could straighten, step back,  &  allow him to feel satisfaction in thinking he had begun to soften her edges.

    either option would result in his ego swelling  /  neither option appears tempting, in her eyes.

     she opts instead to continue their little game. to see who is sure to first fold or reveal their hand. her eyelids may narrow, but she does not blink. does not flinch. though they are just a breath apart.   ❝  with all the risks considered, i’m sure.  ❞   oh, there must be a thrill rushing down his spine !   ❝  but is the loss of your sanity worth the consequences  ?  ❞   the double - meaning wrapped around her words isn’t lost on him, surely ?  your move, jesse.

     tequila. rum. liqueurs. several fruit juices. collections of different types of firearms, ammunitions  &  blades  /  these are just a few of the things spread out on the large oak table beside them, as well as two glasses filled near to the brim. it’s a meeting to discuss the terms of her contract, dressed as a party for two. she appreciates the thought  &  the air put on, as she is sure bobbi had well anticipated                  perhaps a little too well. 

     funny, she is sure that she never once allows awe  &  want to create a childlike expression of wide eyes  &  a crimson - stained pout, but they do so anyway                 &  who could fault her for this, when the blonde is all but showing off a sword as sharp as a winter chill ?  further negotiations may have to be in order.

     the defence is not without merit, nor is it unwarranted. if asked for honesty, she would admit to being less than warm towards her new acquaintance.  &  that, too, is not without merit, when one considers how their situation required strongholds of various types  ;  half truths have been spoken, secrets have been kept for leverage. like any war penned throughout histories  &  not. these strategies have been in play since the beginning of their allyship                   on both ends. 

     though, perhaps, she ought to relent here. if they are to work together, it would be much easier if a form of trust would begin to blossom.   ❝  mae, if i thought of you as an enemy, you wouldn’t still be speaking to me.  ❞  she ensures to have a level tone,  &  to maintain eye contact with mae, so as to avoid any misunderstandings on their relationship once more.   ❝  we may not be friends, but i would not give enemies the same respect i’ve given you.make no mistake in that. ❞

   her response to him does not appear immediate. myriads of books, scrolls  &  papyri have surrounded her, all laid out across the floor in her attempt to sift through information. she takes caution to step around them, over to where a particular book has been set  ;  the cover is black, its pages  &  spine slightly worn from decades past,  &  as she kneels to pick it up, it is hefty in her hands. she smiles to herself. then she stands, turns to him                       &  tosses the object in his direction.   ❝  tell me when you find something of interest.  ❞

hero  /  villain  :  in their line of work, where does one side end  &  another begin ?  the world is spun by conflict  &  clashes. light  &  dark  /  dark  &  light. always, opposing forces are at work  ;  at war, seeking to overpower the other. always, they seek to pull as many hearts & vessels to their sides as possible, turning what was into what will be. lines begin to blur when you’ve witnessed this cycle as much as she has.
