It feels like I have not rock posted in damn near forever and a half. So I'm gonna share my new rock set up cause I'm real excited about it

This is quite a big chunk of them as of today (April 21st 2022)

There is still more that I'll be posting pictures of below as well as a picture of the cabinet opened to show the rocks inside clearer.

This is the inside of the cabinet which is.. Mainly dominated by malachite. Whoops.

And then these are the rocks that don't fit in the case. I'm still working on finding something else to display them in.

I got new rocks today so here is my full collection.

Smokey/Smoky Quartz

A naturally forming Quartz Crystal.

Its Smokey color is caused by natural radiation in naturally free silicon in the stone.

Caribbean Blue Calcite.

A relatively newer mineral compound.

Caribbean Calcite is composed of light blue Calcite and Brown and White Aragonite.

It is common and in fact normal for it to have crevices and holes. In some cases these crevices may even have a fine coating of

Druzy.

Stone of the day:

Chrysoprase

Also known as Australia Jade due to its abundance in Australia and its color leading it to be misidentified as Imperial Jade by many.

It gets its green color from Nickle and is a variant of chalcedony.

Typically Apple green, darker variants are referred to as just Prase as well.

Bumblebee Jasper

Also know as Eclipse Jasper.

It is classified as a toxic stone! Two of its components are sulfer and arsenic. It is safer to handle tumbled than raw. The only known ares for mining is Java, Indonesia where it was first discovered in the 90s.
