Story: Ambrosius is a former soldier who became soul when he and his best friend were killed by Soul Demon. His best friend’s soul were taken from body but with Ambrosius’s strong will power he was able to with stand the power of the demon. His body died but soul lived.

Now with his new power to possess anything with magic and being able to travel through the Realm, he will find, kill and save his best friend’s soul before the soul demon consumes it all. 

Reflection: Digital illustration was definitely my favourite class so far into my polytechnic journey. I learnt shading, bit of anatomy, values, contrast and composition etc. one of the thing I wish I could've done better was to have better skill and understanding on fundamentals for character designing.

I have decided to add a glow to Ambrosius for more colour clarity and make it look more interesting, and improved the man’s shadow. I also changed the background into something brighter so its more easier to see the darker part of Ambrosius.

For Back ground I decided to make a dark forest. I had 2 concept one is misty and clear back ground. second concept is not misty as first but blurred out.

for drawing a man being held I took a reference by creating 3D model of the pose.

one of the challenge I faced drawing this was to keep the composition balanced  between Ambrosius and the man’s size not to take over Ambrosius but also to keep the man visible enough so you can see him clear enough.

My plan for poster

A challenge I will be facing making this poster would be to create a back ground, character who is being choked by my character and lighting.  To achieve all of this I have practiced lighting from different direction.  For time planning I will try finishing character and back ground by today, and lighting by Thursday.

today we practiced lighting and shading for our character design posters. I struggled a bit with the final one but other than I had a good and smooth time drawing.

Thumbnail Feedback

-could add background/Negative space                                                                       

-Title could be more visible, and make sure it doesn’t cover the character.                

-Add the circular ring from left to the middle could be cool                                   

-character could be more towards the middle. 

Most of these feedback was all something I agree with. from this I will use my negative space more to make my poster look dynamic and interesting, and also add background.

One on the left is shooting out a spell to both direction and for back ground there would be a smaller demon trying to attack Ambrosius. 

middle one is Ambrosius choking a demon.  

the right one is Ambrosius getting ready to fight soul demon that took his best friend’s soul and for background there would be some dead demons on the side.
