Maybe I was just dealing with a poor customer support agent? I don't have any idea...

3. Website Migrations Aren't Free Most of the hosting providers I've reviewed can help you move an existing website from it's current location to their services. After all, it is a fast procedure to get you to change companies and become their loyal customer for the upcoming few years.

What is BlueHost? Bluehost is a web hosting company founded by Matt Heaton and Danny Ashworth in Provo, Utah. They have a team of 750 individuals working around the clock. Being the #1 recommended hosting by WordPress.org, they feature 1-Click installations in all their plans. Currently hosts over 2 million sites, and it's among the most popular, inexpensive, shared hosting options available.

Bluehost has positioned themselves as not only the go-to hosting provider for beginner and starting sites, but also the no-hassle hosting provider for small businesses. I've used Bluehost for several projects of my own.

This Bluehost review based on real statistics and data, gathered during an actual test (24+ weeks) of Bluehost cheapest 'shared' plan.

As we all know... Nothing and nobody is perfect... and it's precisely the same with hosting company. I don't believe there's a "Best hositing company" kind of thing.

That has been said. . Let us jump to the pros and cons.

Bluehost does have a few good things going for it. It's affordable. And you can get started relatively quick.

If WordPress loves Bluehost, they need to be a pretty great hosting option.

7. Easy to Use - Bluehost is easy to use, also for a beginner. The cPanel interface is just about as straightforward as web hosting can get. All you've got to do is click on the icons.

What I Do Not Like About Bluehost

1. Customer Support isn't Quick Enough Juggling over two million websites can not be easy. That's very understandable.

But waiting over 43 minutes (on their peak hours) to get through to their support team is not very great. Additionally, our experience showed long delays between curt responses (rendering their support almost useless).

Maybe I was just addressing a poor customer support agent? I have no idea...

However, their YouTube station DOES contain tons of useful tutorial videos. So in case you don't mind rolling up your sleeves, it's probably faster to start there if you've got an issue.

2. Cheap Price Comes with 36-month Plan Yes, Bluehost is cheap, but just how cheap?

Here's the catch, their super-low introductory rate of just $2.95 per month is relevant only for a 3 year program.

You want to start with 12 months? Your rate jumps up to $3.95 per month.

You want to start with 1 or 3 weeks? At this point.

On second thought, maybe you should take them up on that 3 year deal, because a 12-month renewal option of the basic plans jumps up to $8.99 per month.

3. Website Migrations Aren't Free The majority of the hosting providers I have reviewed will enable you to move an existing website from it's current location to their services. After all, it is a quick procedure for you to change companies and become their loyal customer for the upcoming few years.

They charge a 'migration fee' of $149.99 to do something that many provide gratis. And they will not transfer more than 5 websites and 20 email accounts.

4. Not Truly 'UNLIMITED' Many hosting providers boast 'unlimited' hosting, which of course, isn't the whole truth. Bluehost is the same.

A quick tour of the fine print (in the form of their Terms of Service) shows the little details. See for yourself if interested (or if you are having trouble falling asleep 1 night).

The TL;DR version: do not go over 3GB of database use or exceed 1,000 databases or they may terminate your account.

Free domain. Easy two page sign up procedure. Payment Methods: Major credit cards and PayPal. Upsells: Some Upsells, But it is common in the web hosting business, so don't be worried about it.
